KEY SCRIPTURE: Jonh 17:11 KJV” And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.”
During the Lord’s prayer to the Father, He said, Now I am no more in the world. Was He telling a lie or what did He mean? This was a faith language. He was calling as real and present that which was to occur in the future. Faith sees as real, that which is anticipated to take place in the future. Let’s consider how the scriptures describe the way the Father does it. Rom 4:17 KJV” (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” The Father calls those things which have not happened as though they have happened.
The Lord Jesus was a man of great faith. He was seeing Himself out of this earth, even though He was still present on this earth. Faith in God always takes possession of what is anticipated to happen in the future. The bible defines faith as follows: Heb 11:1 KJV” Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. ” Your faith is the evidence or proof that what you hope to get is with you.
How does this show forth itself? It manifests as an assurance or confidence in the heart but expressed in words. It is the expression of that assurance that our Lord Jesus was referring to in His prayer, and that actually consummated His faith. Rom 10:10 KJV” For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” In expressing your faith, confessing what you have believed is very vital. God justifies you when you believe the truth in your heart, but when you say what you have believed then you are bringing to the open, what has taken place in your heart. Always speak out what you believe to make your belief real. If you are afraid to boldly say what you have believed, then you never believed in the first place.
