DIVINE APPOINTMENT

KEY SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 17:29. And David said, what have I now done?” Is there not a cause?

Jesse the father of David asked him to go visit his senior brothers who were on the warfront, to know how they were doing. Father Jesse sent him to visit his brothers at the war front, but God had a plan to reveal David to the whole of Israel. David also saw God’s agenda and quickly grabbed it. When his brothers tried to discourage him, he asked,’ Is there not a cause?’

May we also see God’s appointment for our breakthrough to take advantage of it.

In 1st Samuel 17:23-24, Goliath, the champion of the Philistines, came defying the army of Israel. David heard him and started asking what would be done for the man who killed him and took away the reproach from Israel.?. The men of Israel saw Goliath and fled from him in fear. Why did David and the Israeli soldiers act differently? David was focusing on God; the Israeli soldiers were thinking about themselves. Dear child, of Go, all weakness in faith is all because you are consumed with yourself. Stop considering yourself start focusing on the word of God, and see life as an avenue of living only for the interest of God and not yourself.

To David killing Goliath was as easy as killing an ant because it was going to be done by the almighty God through him. FAITH DOES NOT SEE BIG PROBLEMS TO BE CONQUERED BUT SEES A BIG GOD WHO HAS ALREADY DEFEATED A SMALL PROBLEM.   From today stop magnifying any problem and allow the almighty God to stop that problem for you as you act on his word in faith.

David kept asking what would be done for the man who would kill the enemy. His brother Eliab heard him and became furious because he loved his brother and felt he was walking into his grave: David did not answer his senior brother arrogantly. He just said “What have I now done, is there not a cause? That statement was inspired by the Spirit of God. Indeed, there was a cause why David came there. The next verse says he David, turned from him towards another and spoke after the same manner.

Never hang around those who discourage you. Maintain your focus. David’s words got to King Saul and was given an audience with the king. King Saul also gave a discouraging word to David, yet David, whose confidence in God was very high, began to share with the king the great victories God had won through him. King Saul became convinced and gave him his armour to fight with. David wore it and realized he could not fight with that armour. The armour of flesh would always fail. Don’t trust in human ability; whenever you face the devil, use your faith in God.

David encountered Goliath by speaking the words of faith. We always overcome the enemy by declaring boldly the word of God in faith.

Note: David added action to his words by running to face the enemy, and then he cast the stone.

 CONFESSION

My faith in God is strong because I continually fix my eyes on God and His word. In the name of Jesus, I cut off the head of every Goliath that challenges me.
