DO NOT BE CONTROLLED BY THE WRONGS OF OTHERS

KEY SCRIPTURE:1 Samuel 18:11 “And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. David avoided out of his presence twice.”

Please read 1st Samuel 18:1-30

Saul began to envy David. He threw a Javelin to pin him to the wall but failed 1st Samuel 18:11. Saul’s idea of giving his daughter to David was to get him ultimately killed, yet that also failed. He said he does not want any dowry or bride prize from him, but a hundred foreskins of the Philistines. He intended that the Philistines would kill him in the cause of fighting.

All these traps failed. David was never bitter towards Saul. He maintained his relationship with God. There are a lot of people who respond to situations and allow their moods to run down. Some women get so depressed that they wish they were dead. Some husbands feel their wives are the cause of all their troubles. Some wives are also fighting their husbands because they are making them unhappy.

Please read Luke 6:27-38

Jesus taught in that passage that you always get what you give. If the person is treating you badly, do not retaliate in the same manner, give him or her love, kindness, and forgiveness and you will surely reap what you gave. Stop that crazy cycle of tit for tat.

In the case of David, the very king who ruled the whole land was against him, yet David was not bitter to the point that he may decide to take his own life. What sustained him? David had his confidence in God. Dear brother or sister, NEVER LET ANY MORTAL MAN DETERMINE WHETHER YOU ARE HAPPY OR NOT. It is your choice whether you are happy or not. Please read through Psalm 46. In verse 5, David said, “God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early”. Stop fighting people to make you happy. That is a mirage. Stop crying over any bad situation you find yourself. Your Father God is on the throne, and you are reigning with Him. Turn your eyes from the condition and praise the Lord for His victories.

The scriptures said David behaved himself wisely. A complaining man couldn’t have behaved wisely. He lived above the situations all the time. Indeed, none of the plans of King Saul succeeded. King Saul was rather afraid of him. Why do the evil intentions of the enemy seem to prevail in your case? When you have an evil feeling towards others, God is not involved with you, so every evil work of the enemy will prevail against you… Forgive and place your confidence in God. Turn your heart from those you think are hurting you. Turn to God and use His power to overcome the wrong situations.

BEHAVE WISELY LIKE DAVID DID.

  CONFESSION

Father, your word rules my heart. No bitterness will fill my heart against anyone. By the power of God, I overcome every situation.
