KEY SCRIPTURE:1Ti 4:13 KJV “Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”
We now consider the last of the acts that the apostle Paul instructed Timothy to keep observing until he comes. We must also take such advice seriously. He advised him to pay attention to doctrine. A doctrine is a set of core beliefs, principles, or teachings officially taught or advocated by a group, religion, political party, or institution, serving as a foundation for understanding and action. Doctrines are the basic tenets of our faith, and we must be firmly grounded in these truths.
The bible said the early believers continued in the apostles’ doctrine. Act 2:42 KJV” And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Now, please note that these cults that go around seeking to win people win certain ignorant Christians because they are not very knowledgeable in the Christian doctrines. There are a lot of church folks who are confused about the doctrine of the Trinity. Some even ask, ” How can Jesus be God? Many Christians have left their churches for Jehovah’s Witnesses because they had no good teaching on the topic.
Some have converted to become Muslims because they were taught that Muslims have a simpler form of burial procedure. This is all because they have not been taught to know that Christians and Muslims are not worshipping the same God. All these are a result of a lack of good doctrinal teaching. There are those who have joined the Seventh-day Adventists because they claim it is an error to worship on Sundays. These things are very unfortunate. The pastor ought to be well-informed about proper Christian doctrines.
Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that salvation is not by grace alone but by observing some good works, including joining the Kingdom Hall meetings and propagating the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ doctrines. The scriptures clearly taught that we are saved by grace through faith and not of ourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph 2: 8, 9. If one joins such a cult to accept their doctrine, then he has definitely thrown away the grace of God. Such a one is lost in his sins.
THOUGHT:A CHRISTIAN WITHOUT PROPER DICTRINE LACKS A SOLID FOUNDATION
