Live to save the lost.

KEY SCRIPTURE:2Ti 2:10 KJV” Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”

Apostle Paul once again makes a very important statement  concerning his calling. He claimed that because the word of God is not bound, he endures all things so that the elect would be saved. The Lord Himself said he has other sheep who are not yet saved. Joh 10:16 KJV “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.” These souls must not be lost, yet it is not automatic that they would be saved. A price  would have to be paid to get them saved. Apostle Paul says he endures all things so that these souls would be saved.

The question is, who are these ones that the Lord is talking about? The bible says, the Lord wishes that all men would be saved. It is those who respond to the call to come to Jesus  who are the elect. This makes everyone accountable for his or her choices. Now, what are some of the things we have to endure?

1 You have to endure every temptation to defile yourself with sin. Sin comes with false pleasure, and you must forsake it.

2 You must endure long moments of prayer and, at times, with fasting. There can not be success in saving souls without deep agonising prayer. The gates of hell that have kept these people in chains must give way as you travail in prayer

3 You must take time to study and learn how to communicate the gospel effectively. You can find classical messages from Billy Graham’s preaching and master them. You can also  find some good gospel tracts and learn how the gospel messages are presented. Endure moments of study of God’s word to be ready to answer various questions that will come to you.

4 You must leave the comfort of your home and reach out to everyone you meet. Some would be receptive, others would reject you outright, some would argue with you, and a few would be indifferent. They would just listen without showing any interest. Do not allow any of these to stop you from going ahead to share the message with them.

In all these, you must have the right attitude. The right attitude to hold is that you are a servant of Jesus who is very joyful in doing what He tells you.

You must also hold the understanding that conversion is the work of the Holy Spirit, so trust Him to touch the heart of the enquirer.

The next attitude is to maintain a heart of great love for the people you talk to.

Know that you are not there to present your church or your pastor. You are there to present the Lord Jesus.

Do not try to win an argument. Just trust the Holy Spirit to effectively speak to him or her about those things you have shared with them.

After everything, do not stop praying for him or her. These prayers, after witnessing, do a lot.

If he surrenders to Jesus, make sure you start a program of follow-up with him.

THOUGHT:A DESIRE AND A COMMITMENT TO SAVE SOULS  WOULD MOVE YOU TO DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO WIN THEM
