KEY SCRIPTURE:2Ti 2:11 KJV” It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:”

Our key scripture is the foundation for the Christian’s victory. It reveals our identification with Jesus. Our baptism into Christ fully identified us with Jesus. Gal 3:27 KJV “For as many of you as have been baptised into Christ have put on Christ.” This verse paints a perfect picture of what has taken place in Christ. Everyone born into Christ has been baptised into Christ by the Holy Spirit. 1Co 12:13 KJV “For by one Spirit are we all baptised into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

Our death with Jesus means our old nature of sin and defeat has been killed and buried. The flesh should no longer control our actions. We are resurrected beings having a completely new man. The following is what the bible talks about this new man: Eph 4:24 KJV “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Our new man is created after God ,or he is like God, having true righteousness and holiness.

We have to be conscious of the   person we have become as a result of our baptism into Christ. Gal. 2:20 tells us that it is Christ who is alive in us. To benefit from this  union, we must consciously acknowledge that  Christ has become our very life. This is what brings the real change . When a man functions, knowing that it is Jesus himself  living through him or her. It is no more difficult to do things of the Spirit.

The outstanding lifestyle of Paul came from the knowledge that Jesus lives through him. With this knowledge, you know that your hands are no longer yours but Jesus’ if you stretch that hand on a sick man, you know he must rise up from  whatever health challenge that he or she had,because it was Jesus who touched that sick man. Secondly, the knowledge of Jesus as your very life makes you  naturally want to do things like Jesus. You would love like Jesus,you would talk like Him. It is on this note that I said from the beginning that our death with Jesus and subsequent resurrection with Him is the foundation for our victorious walk as Christians.
