JESUS, GOD’S LAMB

KEY SCRIPTURE; John 1:29 KJV” The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

When John saw Jesus he prophesied about Him, saying, behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Please note that any child of God who has the Spirit of God can prophesy. Throughout recorded scripture, lambs have always been used as sacrifices unto God for several reasons. The Lord Jesus was to be the Lamb of God who would be sacrificed on behalf of men for the remission of their sins (Heb 9:22). According to the word of God, sin entered the world through   Adam’s sin and death passed on to every person. (Rom 5:12). For man to be made alive unto God, Jesus had to die in our place, so that when a man receives Jesus as Lord, he is made alive from death (Eph 2:1)

The scripture says Jesus is the lamb of God who took away the sin of the world. Sin is a reproach to any person or a group of people. Sin makes rebels out of sons. Sin keeps men far from God their father (Isaiah 59:1&2) Sin shuts God’s ears from hearing the prayers of His children. For the Lord to take away our sins, He had to become sin.2Co 5:21 KJV “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” He became like a serpent in our place John 3:14. The death of Jesus is a symbol of defeat to Satan. This is the reason the blood makes us victors over Satan. Rev 12:11.

Observing the communion is an announcement of the defeat of Satan. It results in various releases of the children of God from all forms of bondage. Always approach the communion with joy, in appreciation of the Lord, and an expectation of victory from every defeat.

Every child of God must be grateful for what Jesus has done for us. We must resolve not to give any place to sin. Sin although, separated and rendered ineffective in the child of God, would assume mastery over anyone who subjects himself to it. Rom 6:16 KJV” Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”.

Please note: the strength of sin is the law, why? (1 Corinth 15:55) Living by the law is living outside the Spirit’s influence rather than dwelling on the flesh to win.

Do not give any place to the flesh, live constantly in the Spirit.

PRAYER

Thank you, heavenly father, for delivering me from sin and placing me in the Spirit. I live in the spirit and give no occasion to the flesh to have any dominance over me. My life is upward and forward only.

THOUGHT:  SATAN OR SIN IS INEFFECTIVE WHEN THE CHILD OF GOD LIVES IN THE SPIRIT.

JESUS LIVES AND REVEALS HIMSELF

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 14:19 KJV” Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.”

The Lord declared that, when He leaves the disciples into glory, the world would not see Him. He added that His disciples would continue to see Him. The Lord has consistently shown Himself to His disciples. Acts 1:3 KJV” To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things about the kingdom of God:” This was the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus to the disciples. God used these visitations to strengthen the disciplines. The Lord said, “His disciples will continue to see Him. How were they going to see Him?” Christians see the Lord as we study and read the scriptures. He is the word of God John 1:1. By reading and meditating on the word of God, Jesus is revealed to us.

We see Him as He answers the demands we make in His name. John 14:13,14 Every step of faith we take pleases Him, and He responds by answering, therefore manifesting His power. As we go about sharing His word with others, He works with us. Mark 16:20 KJV “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”

Jesus reveals Himself through various Christians, as we live by the word of God. God intends to reveal His Son Jesus through us. Galatians 1:15-16 KJV “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:” Every Child of God is God’s vessel to reveal His Son. We have to understand we have received the ability to do so and must yield to the Spirit’s leading always. Please note that your call as a child of God is to make Jesus known, first, by your life, and by your speech.

Finally, the Lord comes to many of His children through visions of all kinds. Our Lord has appeared physically to some Christians, or audibly spoken to them. Jesus indeed went to the heavens, yet through the Holy Spirit with us, we see and fellowship with Him in various ways.

JESUS NEVER CHANGES

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 15:30 (KJV).  “And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:”

Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. If people would come to Him as they came to him during the days of the Bible, He would heal the sick, and cleanse. the lepers and even raise the dead. Please read Matt 15:30-38. This passage is like a playback of earlier chapters. It is not a repetition of an old event but a new one. Jesus keeps healing the sick over and over again. He does not change. It only means He would do the same for you today.  Dear one wherever you are today, the same Spirit of Christ is present with you: speak to Him like you would if He was physically present, expecting to receive whatever those people had experienced.

The scripture teaches that “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) You don’t have to be in a big special meeting before you can see that mighty healing power of God. Those people came at a time when He was just having a quiet moment, yet He quickly stopped whatever he was doing and answered their prayer. When you pray to Him as the people prayed to Him, be confident He has heard and answered you.  Start doing whatever you cannot do. Keep rejoicing and being excited that He has healed you.

Evangelist T L Osborne shared an experience that can help you to receive your healing, even wherever you are today. He said He held a crusade in Kenya where there were massive miracles and healings. The whole program was recorded and put on special cassette players to be distributed to people who could not make it to the crusade. A man had one of the recorded programs on the cassette player and brought it to a man who was a paralytic. He was left to die in a mud hut.  When he received the recordings from the crusade, he listened to them several times. He decided to pray asking the Lord to heal him like the testimonies he heard from the crusade. After praying, he decided to do what the man of God instructed the people at the crusade to do. ‘Those who could not walk must start walking, he said.’ They made the effort to walk, and to God’s glory, many walked. This paralytic also decided to rise. He struggled and made every effort to rise but to no avail. He did not give up. He even had bruises on his shoulder, but kept trying, for he believed Jesus had healed him like the people at the crusade. As he kept struggling to walk, he instantly felt some warmth in his body. Strength came to him and he stood up, perfectly whole. Jesus had made him well. He is the same.

If you prayed, He heard your prayer. He answered you. Begin to do whatever you cannot do. Don’t give up trying to do it. He is present and would perfect your condition.

PRAYER

Dear heavenly Father, I pray unto you, and ask for your provision, protection and healing of my body in the name of Jesus. I thank you for healing me in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDIES

Hebrews 13:7-8 (BBE). Keep in mind those who were over you, and who gave you the word of God; seeing the outcome of their way of life, let your faith be like theirs.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Matthew 4:24 (BBE). “And news of him went out through all Syria; and they took to him all who were ill with different diseases and pains, those having evil spirits and those who were off their heads, and those who had no power of moving. And he made them well.”

EVIDENCE THAT SHOWS JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD

KEY SCRIPTURE Matthew 27:54 KJV “Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.”

The centurion and those present at the death of Jesus testified that, indeed He is the Son of God. They came to this conclusion after being witnesses to all that happened after he died. They saw the whole earth go dark, the earthquake, and the words Jesus said as He hung on the cross. These people came to the solid conclusion that He is the Son of God, as He testified. To say Jesus is the Son of God, is not referring to being born by God as humans give birth, but refers to the fact that He is of the God kind. It means He is in the class as God. He is one with God the Father.

There are so many evidences that shows that Jesus is the Son of God.

The Lord Jesus made certain statements that no one ever spoke that way.

He said I am the resurrection and the life (John 11:25). He also said He is the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through Him. (John 14:6) He even said I am the light of the world. John 9:5. All these are very serious statements. There were many more such statements that He said about Himself. A person saying such things should either be a liar, a lunatic, or the Lord of Glory. He is never a liar because His words have proven to be very true, in every form of it. He can’t be a lunatic, because many lunatics have been healed in His name. Since the first two are not possible then He is the Lord of glory.

Jesus’ resurrection also reveals He is the anointed Son of God. Rom 1:4 KJV ‘And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: “

The witness of the apostles was on the fact that Jesus died but was resurrected. Almost all of them but John the Beloved died terrible deaths, through persecution. All on the testimony that Jesus rose from the grave and that they saw and fellowshipped with Him.

The conversion of Apostle Paul, opposed, persecuted, and made havoc of the church. A strong defender of the law suddenly was transformed and started talking about the grace of God. Apostle Paul also died a martyred death with the testimony that He also met the resurrected Christ.

In light of this evidence, would you join the Roman centurion to say that Jesus is the Lord of my life?

THOUGHT: YOUR ABILITY TO PROVE JESUS IS ALIVE, IS TO SURRENDER TO HIM.

JESUS IS THE ONLY TRUTH

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 21:42 (KJV).  “Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?”

Our Lord Jesus has been attacked throughout history till today, yet He remains the one single personality who has affected countless millions throughout history till date than any other. Some even say he is a myth, yet anyone who bows to His Lordship receives a real meaning in life.  He is the chief cornerstone of the proper construction of any life. No building can be raised perfectly without the cornerstone He is the way, the truth, and the life. In Him is life, and the life is the light of men. Without Him, every man would continue to grope in darkness. Dear one, do not allow your life to be misled by anyone.

Over the years countless numbers of people from all walks of life, have encountered the resurrected Lord at various moments of defeat and failure. They realized He was the stone that the builders could not reject. To those whose hearts are in turmoil because of various challenges in this life, Jesus is the calmer of storms and would fill your heart with peace. If you have a character that is a reproach to yourself, He will help you fix it. He is the greatest physician and would answer your health questions. He is the great I am. Whatever you are crying for He says He will be that thing for you. All that you require is to bow to His Lordship over your life.

The scriptures warn us against being taken captive or deceived. Jesus is the fulness of the Godhead bodily. “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” — Colossians 2:8 (KJV).

The above verse shows us how men deceive others. The process of deceit is always the same. One way that one could be deceived is through philosophy. Philosophy is an expression of human wisdom. It could also be said to be common sense. According to the Bible men through common sense cannot know God. 1st Corinth 1:21-23. The other means of deceit is just vain deceit. How deceptive to claim the Bible was written by Europeans to deceive blacks.  Archaeological findings have firmly established the Middle East as the origin of the Bible. A more sure ground for its reliability is the Bible’s transforming power. No one who has truly submitted to its teaching has not received a real change of life.

KNOWING JESUS IS KNOWING THE FATHER  2

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:19 KJV “Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.”

Our topic for today is the answer to the question, who is God? What does He do? Does God exist? Men have struggled with these questions for centuries and many are still yet to have the answers, although God answered them a long time ago, about two thousand years ago. The following scripture reveals vividly the identity of Jesus as He shows us who God is. Heb 1:3 KJV ” Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” Our Lord Jesus is the brightness of the glory of God. He reveals the power and mighty deeds of the great invisible God. He is also the expressed image of His person. The word ‘express image’ is the Greek word, ‘charakter’ which means the exact expression of any person.

Jesus was a man that history testifies that He once lived on this earth, and made a level of impact in the lives of men, that cannot be wished away by anybody, army or situation.

The worst persecution of His course could not erase His impact because it is true.

His birth into this world reveals God. He had no human father. Luke 1:35 narrated His birth process. It read the Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the highest shall overshadow you, and the child shall be called the Son of God. The term Son of God does not just mean born by God, but it means in the same class, nature as God. It also means He is God’s kind, just as the son of man means of humankind. This should erode every question on everyone’s mind about whether God exists. John writes it this way, and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. John 1:14.

His life was a stream of outstanding miracles. He turned water into wine, raised several dead people back to life, and healed countless sick people. He fed multitudes with a few loaves of bread and fishes, on two occasions. He walked on water and calmed a raging storm. He demonstrated a perfect love for all persons, even for all those who hated Him and strove to kill Him. He taught in a way that no teacher has ever taught that way. At the end of a glorious life of blessing, lifting, and placing smiles on the faces of all those who came to Him, He crowned it with victory over suffering, and death. He gloriously resurrected on the third day to establish that He is Lord over everything, even death, which was the greatest enemy of men. His resurrection was also the victory card for man’s redemption.

All these show us who God is and does.

Once again, His resurrection revealed the invisible God to us. He was resurrected never to die again. This shows the reality of everlasting life which only God has, but has been given to all who would believe in Him. Dear one let the questions about the mystery of God cease by accepting the revelation of God in Jesus His Son.

CONFESSION

Jesus brought the great God of the universe to the human experience. In seeing Jesus, I see God and have no questions. The beauty of it is that in seeing Jesus, I also see myself, for He came to live in me. God is at home in my heart. God is not somewhere, but He lives in me, this is only by grace. Now I can live the God kind of life, living above sin, sicknesses, and Satan. What a mystery, God at home in me and you

KNOWING JESUS IS KNOWING THE FATHER

KEY SCRIPTURE John 8:19 KJV” Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

The Lord discussed with His disciples in John chapter 14 about going to the Father. Thomas asked we do not know where you are going, how can we know the way? He said He is the way, the truth and the life…” After this answer, He added the following:” If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. John 14:7. The Lord Jesus clearly stated that anyone who sees him has seen the Father. The Lord was not just a representative of the Father. He was one with the Father John 10:30. The Lord Jesus was referring to His deity.

We can show from the scriptures, how Jesus is one with the Father.

We would consider a few verses of scripture.

1. Isaiah 9:6

Isa 9:6 KJV” For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace”. This verse refers to Jesus, yet one of His names is the everlasting Father as well as the mighty God.

2. 1 Timothy 3:16

1 Tim 3:16 KJV” And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”. In this verse we also see Jesus as God, making Him one with the Father.

1John 5:20

1Jn 5:20 KJV” And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ.” This is the true God and eternal life.”

The Son is also God because the bible reveals God as three persons in one. Mat 28:19 KJV “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: The scripture says to baptize in the name, not names. This is one God but three distinct persons.

In the light of all the above verses, we see the Son is one with the Father. Jesus had the same glory as the Father from the beginning, although He laid it down according to Philippians 2:6,7. John 17:5 KJV “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” The Son and the Father had the same glory from the beginning of time.

CONFESSION

Jesus is God, I give Him the glory and honour. He has the same glory as the Father. He now knows all things, sees all things and is all mighty. He will come again to judge all men.

JESUS’ TESTIMONY OF HIS DEITY

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 17:5 KJV” And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”

I read a debate between a Christian and one of another faith. The man asked the Christian to give one verse in the scriptures where the Lord Jesus testified of Himself as God. I think our key scripture vividly says so.

He prayed and asked the Father to glorify Him with the glory He had with Him, from the beginning, before everything was created. This verse shows that He is one with the Father. Everyone’s status is qualified by the glory He has. The glory could be described as a rank in the military. To have the same rank as another means you are at the same level. There is no superiority of one over the other.

The Lord Jesus, when He came into this life expressed on several occasions His dependence on the Father as well as the Father holding the final knowledge and authority over certain things. For example, in Acts 1:7 KJV” And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” He said it was in the Father’s power to decide on that matter. This He said so because He had earlier laid down His reputation, or glory as God, so He could become a man, and suffer death for the sins of all men. Phi 2:6,27 KJV “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”

The above scripture also explains why He spoke as if He was inferior to the Father on many occasions.

Dear readers our Lord Jesus is God. He existed in eternity past as the word of God. This truth is very important to one’s salvation. If you do not believe that Jesus is God, then you are lost in your sins, because you have not believed in Him for who He is. He saved us with His divine blood. Refusing to accept Him as God makes you reject that divine blood that saves us.

Dear readers, I have taken time to explain vividly from Jesus’ own words why He is God. This topic has been a thorny issue for many Christians and non-Christians for a long time. Please receive the truth and yield to all the demands our Lord Jesus places on us.

The truth He wishes to teach us is that God loves us so much, or we are very special to God, for Him to assume the status of a man, to die for us.

The second lesson He wants us to know is that everyone must consider this great love and make a positive response by making Jesus Lord of his or her life. Amen

THOUGHT: JESUS BLOOD CAN SAVE US BECAUSE HE IS GOD.

THE TRUE GOD

KEY SCRIPTURE: Joh 17:3 KJV “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

The Lord said in our opening scripture that eternal life is knowing the true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. Many religious groups claim to serve the true God. To some their God cannot be known in a very personal way, He is mighty and so pure that he has no relationship with His followers. To others, their God is objects that can be seen, like the sun, stars, or even certain creatures. Others say their minds are the true God.

What qualities should the true God have?

1.            The true God should be the creator of heaven and the earth. Gen 1:1, Psalms 148:5 KJV” Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.”

2.            The true God must be all-powerful, ever-present, and all-knowing. Gen 35:11, Ps 139:1-7. Psalms 139:16 KJV “Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book, all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”

3.            The true God must be merciful. Deut 4:31 ” (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

4.            The true God should be a God of love. 1 John 4:8

5.            The true God should not be worshipped with cultural limitations. The God of the Christians does not have any cultural demands for worship. His people do not have to speak a particular language to talk to Him or wear a particular garment like people must do in Arabic. He can be contacted anywhere. John 4:21,23 KJV” Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.”

6.            The true God is for all men. The God of the Christian is not for the Jews alone, or Europeans, Africans, or Americans. He is for all men. Some claim He is of the Jews. A few months ago, the Jewish Parliament passed a law making it criminal for anyone to share Christ with a non-Christian. Europeans and Americans are taking the bible from public schools. Despite all these Christianity remains the most populous religion.

The Africans claim God is a European and an American God. The Europeans say He is an imposition on them, yet He dominates every continent.

7.            The true God must reveal Himself to men. And the word which is God, became flesh and dwelt among us. John 1 14.

8.            The true God should hear the prayers of His people and do great miracles among them. Jeremiah 33:3.

9.            The true God must work alongside His people and confirm their words with signs and wonders. Mark 16:21, “And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

KNOWING HIM IS ETERNAL LIFE

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 17:3 KJV” And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

In this opening scripture, the Lord explains how one receives eternal life in a very simple way, yet very profound. He said eternal life is about knowing the true God and Jesus Christ. One may know a lot about God, and He may hear and might have read a lot about Him, yet he may not know Him. God is not known by a man’s intellect .1Co 1:21 KJV For after that in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” God can be known by accepting the revelation he has given about Himself.

From our discussion above, knowing God is to believe His revelation about Himself. He is the creator of the universe. He is the all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present God. He gave His Son Jesus to give His life as a ransom for the sins of all men. To know Jesus is to believe all that He came to do for humanity. Jesus is the only name under heaven given among men, whereby, we may be saved. Acts 4:12. He is the way the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father but by Him. John 14:6. This is a revelation Jesus has made about Himself. To know Jesus means you must believe this truth about Him. Anyone who believes this revelation from Jesus, about Himself would receive eternal life into his life.

True knowledge of God instills in a man a sense of hatred for sin and also a confidence to face life with the air of a Victor. The insecurities that abound around the man who has come to know the Lord do not dictate His affairs, because the Lord is His shepherd. If your life is dominated by fear and an anxious expectation of the future, then you might not know the Lord at all. You may know Him by head, and not by heart. Head knowledge is not the kind of knowledge that brings a person into eternal life. This is the state of several people who claim to know God, yet still love to sin, filled with fear and all kinds of ungodly behaviours.

Now ask a sincere question, do I truly know this true God and His Son Jesus?  Please spend some moments alone and humbly accept the truths He has made about Himself.
