KEY SCRIPTURE: Acts 7:60 KJV “And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.”

During the stoning of evangelist Stephen, he did not curse them, but prayed for them. I believe the conversion of Paul was an answer to the prayer of Stephen. I will like to share a testimony about praying for the lost and seeing God save them.

Some years ago, I watched a program on Metro TV(Ghana) called Aqeeda. It was an Islamic program that projected Islamic teachings. As I watched I decided to pray for the host. I prayed and said Lord Jesus save this man. I later prayed again and asked the Lord to direct such Muslims who have been saved through my intercessions to our church. On one Sunday morning at church I was informed that a man was looking for me. I went over to see him, and there he narrated his story to me. He said his name was Sheikh Ibrahim Oyom, he used to host that Islamic program called Aqeeda. He had an encounter with Jesus which led to his conversion into Christianity. He also showed me his picture when he used to hold that program, which gave me the assurance that he is the man. He added that in the previous night the Lord gave him the name of our church and directed him to where the church was located. He obeyed and came. (He has a very powerful testimony about how he met the resurrected Jesus. Because of space I would reserve his testimony for tomorrow’s edition of the simple truth) .

My emphases for today is to express how amazing God is. He answers prayers to the details. I prayed and said lord when you save them lead them to me, and the Lord did exactly that. (the Lord did this particular case to assure us of how detailed and truthful He does His things). Never stop praying for the lost. This is what Rev Dr Kwadwo Boateng Bempah, head pastor of Holy Hill Assemblies of God calls prayervagelism. Prayer is a partnership between human and the divine. (Do not stop preaching to the lost as well. There are some cases that the Holy Spirit would intervene like this instant) When we stand in the gap to intercede for people the Lord releases angels into action, who create conditions that lead to the conversion of men. We must understand the heartbeat of God for the lost, so we may cry unto Him to save them. Stop being selfish, to be always praying for your needs alone. Selfishness is a trait of babies. Be concerned about the lost. God wants to save the lost yet His laws does not permit Him to do so until a man calls on Him. He created all things but has given the habitation and dominion of the earth to man (Genesis 1:26–28). Man would have to invite Him to act in the affairs of men before He can do so.

CONFESSION

I am an intercessor for the lost. The Holy Spirit enables me to pray effectively for the lost. As I pray for them, they are converted and saved for heaven.

1Timothy 2:1-4. ” I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 3:3 KJV “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”.

The supernatural realm is a reality that many people have yearn to function. Today, most schools have secret cults practicing all kinds of occultic activities. We find posters of Mallams and witchdoctors, fetishes promising good marriages, money power, good luck, breakthrough and every supposedly good thing under the sun. The African political leaders seek for supernatural power to fortify themselves against their enemies and to have influence over the masses. Some of them go through all kinds of horrible rituals to gain this power. Most celebrities also go after these powers so they could rise to stardom. Some false men of God do the same.

What is the source of the power behind these Mallams, cults, witchdoctors, or fetishes etc.?  Satan and his demons are the power working with these people. Lev 20:6 KJV” And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people”. The end of such people is always miserable. Satan is a master deceiver. Anyone who goes for these powers exchanges his or her soul for money, fame, pleasure and what have you? What does it profit a man if he gains all the money, fame and ultimately languishes in hell? Just consider Satan’s terms. Mat 4:9 KJV “And (Satan) saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me”. Satan will not give a dime to you without first taking your surrender to him. He asked the Lord Jesus to first bow down to him.

Dear reader, if you have contacted any of these powers for any help, then note that you have exchanged your soul for that help.

On the flip side there is true supernatural power in Christ. The power available in Christ for a day old Christian, is far superior to every occultic fetish power. Ephesians 1:19 KJV “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” When you give your life to Jesus, He gives you the power to become a son of God just like Himself. You can cast out any of the spirits working in a fetish, mallam, witchdoctor or what have you? Do not be deceived turn your life to Jesus and become a super human being. Note this :No one who submits to any occultic power can have TRUE PEACE. Their hearts burn with torment and anguish. All those who go after these things have a great void in their heart. Do not let pride keep you from turning to the Lord. You can come into Christ by making the following prayer.

I declare that Jesus is the Lord of my life. I repent of my sins and surrender my life to His rule from this moment.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:44 NHEB You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and its father.

The Lord Jesus called some people, the devil’s children. I believe most people would not want to be addressed as the devil’s children yet many are. Anyone who is not born again is a child of the devil. No one becomes a child of the devil by choice but you stay a child of the devil by choice. The Bible says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. King David reveals, in Psalm 51:5 that ” Look, I was brought forth in iniquity. In sin my mother conceived me”. He said I was conceived in iniquity. We inherited this sinful nature from our first parents Adam and Eve. Romans 5:12 ” Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so, death passed to all people, because all sinned”.

This nature of Satan has given men a very evil heart. Jeremiah 17:9 ” The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? “Be sincere with yourself, what is the state of your heart. Men get so deceitful that they tend not to trust themselves. Just consider how much men tell lies to one another. Indeed, like begets like. If men are in the nature of the devil then they will demonstrate his nature. The following is a description of the devil’s nature in men. 2Timothy 3:2 “For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy” . Anyone who lives this way would end up in condemnation with the devil. Revelation. 20:10 NHEB ” The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever”. You don’t have to end up in the lake of fire. Repent today.

As I said from the beginning, to be a child of the devil is never by your choice, but to stay as a child of the devil is definitely by your choice. Our Lord Jesus died for your sins and rose from death to give you a new nature. The Bible is filled with countless appeals from God to forsake sonship to Satan and choose Jesus. Some of these appeals are

 1.Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

2.Rev 3:20 NHEB ” Look, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me.”

3. Isaiah 1:18 KJV “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool”.

In all these cases God gives you an opportunity to change your parents. It is now fully your choice whether you stay as the devil’s child or become a child of God. Which one would you choose? You may pray the following prayer.

Dear Heavenly father I am a sinner I come to you in the name of Jesus. Lord Jesus I forsake my past life and turn to you. I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for loving and dying for me.

The kingdom of God in its figurative meaning or interpretation, is the rule of God over a man’s life. When an individual is submissive to the demands of the kingdom of God then is he part of the Kingdom of God. In a similar vein the Lordship of Jesus over a man means he or she acknowledges Jesus as his king. If one does not submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, he is not in the kingdom of God, and therefore he is not a Christian.

Many profess that Jesus is their Lord yet in practice there is nothing to show. Remember what the Lord said:’ not all who say Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of God’. To claim that Jesus is your Lord, is to live to please Him. If Jesus is your lord you will walk in love. Hatred has no place in the heart of the man whom Jesus reigns. Your flesh is not your master any longer. The following is one of the things, that Jesus talked about, when He spoke about morals: Matthew 5:28 KJV “But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Most people don’t just look to lust, but go ahead and commit the act of adultery. The acrimony or strive in many homes is alarming. How can you claim Jesus is your Lord and can’t live at peace with your spouse That Tom and Jerry marriage is a sign, Jesus is not Lord over your life? Repent now.

THIS is your moment to straighten up your life and relationship with the Master. If Jesus is truly Lord, your flesh would cease to dictate to you. There would be an attitude of honoring your partner, even if his or her actions fall short of expected standards. Make Jesus the real Lord and you would be a true child of God. To be a Christian you declare that Jesus is your Lord. Note: To confess He is your Lord and not to make Him Lord in practice and in your actions nullifies the confession you made.

Repent from this moment and really make Jesus Lord over your life indeed.

PRAYER

Heavenly father, I confess that I have lived against your word. I repent from this moment and surrender my life to the Lordship of Jesus. I would live to please His name in all I do.

In John 18:40, the scriptures read,” Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber”. The Bible said they all in one accord chose Barabbas. The Bible added that Barabbas was a robber. This means he    violently takes from people. The Lord Jesus said in John 10:10 that, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” He brought us life by dying on the cross, yet  men choose the robber. The robber comes to steal, kill and destroy. Who have you chosen? The Savior or the robber?

 Anyone who has not believed in Jesus has chosen the robber. Men have accepted all kinds of things to be lord over them. All these has bred unrest in the souls of people.

 I have encountered certain individuals who say they would not go all out for Jesus. They will just be nominal Christians

This is a deception. Such people are controlled by all kinds of non-scriptural lifestyle. Most of them are ruled by their flesh. They get drunk, are easily angered and what have you? Such people have all kinds of doubts about the Bible and question a lot of actions of faith Please dear reader, if the above description fits your condition then I wish to tell you that you have rejected the Savior and chosen the robber. Do not be deceived, you have either chosen Jesus, or the robber. Nobody chooses the robber and lives a peaceful joyful life. This robber is a cunning master who deceives to enslave. (He is a spirit called Satan)

JESUS comes to set you free. He comes into your life to give His life to you. That is the reason He died for your sins. Reject everything or anything that put Jesus out of total control of your life. Note: The Lord Jesus is in absolute charge of your life or He is not at all. You cannot be partly for Him and partly for another thing. Unfortunately, many are treading on that path. End that life of defeat and let Jesus reign through you today. Jesus keeps healing and blessing lives. He would do same for you. You must decide to let Him become your Lord and Savior today.. This is what the Bible says you must do to be saved. Roman 10:9 KJV” That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”. Your open confession that Jesus is Lord and to believe in your heart that He died and was raised to life after the third day, establishes your salvation. You may pray the following prayer right now.

Dear heavenly father I surrender my life to the lord Jesus who died for me and rose again to life after three days, I confess that Jesus is Lord of my life. I will lead the rest of my life o serve Him. Amen.

During the trial of our Lord Jesus, Pilate the Roman governor over the Jews reminded the Jews about a yearly custom in which one prisoner would be set free at the Passover season.  When he made the announcement, they all in one chorus said they wanted BARABAS the robber. These people were given the option to choose between the Savior of all mankind and a very notorious robber. They all in one unison said give us BARABAS, but for Jesus they shouted crucify Him. These people did not know who this Jesus is, just as most people of our day do not know who Jesus is.

In this life there are only two persons to choose from, the truth and the lie. The light and the darkness. Jesus is the truth; He is the light and He is the way. All the rest are the lie. These people chose a robber and called for the death of the Lord of Lord’s.

What are you doing with Jesus? He is the resurrection and the life. John 11:25 KJV ” Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”: To choose Jesus is to choose

 resurrection and life. You would live forever. Choose Him today. He is the alpha and omega. Rev 1:8 KJV “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Jesus himself took away our sicknesses and diseases. Isaiah 53:5 KJV…”……. the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” To choose Jesus is to choose health and healing. Thousands and even millions of people have encountered the great healing and health mercies of our Lord Jesus. Christ. How can you forsake Him and go for something fake.? He is the real healer. I once met a man who could not hear in both ears. I assured Him Jesus would open both ears as I pray for Him. He became expectant and as I prayed for him, the ear popped open and started hearing clearly. Jesus is the same and His life on earth was a constant stream of answering people’s questions or answers.

What is your heart cry at this hour? All that Jesus is would be yours if you would bow your life to Jesus. He died and rose from the dead. You can pray the following prayer

Dear heavenly father, thank you for giving your son Jesus to die for my sins. I give my life to you. I accept Jesus as Lord over my life. I believe He rose up from the grave.

The Bible prophesied that in the last days perilous times would come, Why, because men would be lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God. (2nd Timothy 3:1&2.). Our key scripture goes further to say that, this is the condemnation against men, although light has come into the world, yet men loved darkness more than light. Love is a strong emotional condition that drags a person to please ‘what he loves. You become * a slave to what you love for love overwhelms its victims. What would make a man choose darkness over light? It is the power of sin ruling over men.

I could image a cocaine sniffer who realizes the destructive effects of sniffing cocaine yet cannot stop it.  It drains down his whole body. It sucks every pesewa from him yet he loves this very life destroyer. Darkness is the power of evil. It destroys its victims yet they love it. Just imagine physical darkness. The kind of darkness that men have fallen in love with, is not physical but a supernatural entity, (personality) filled with total hatred for man. This shows man is lost and needs a Savior. The love for darkness has produced enemies among ourselves. The greatest enemy of man is not diseases or natural calamities but man, because we love darkness and are ruled by it. Listen to what God says about the human heart.    Jeremiah 17:9 KJV ” The heart (of man) is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”  Just listen to the news headlines and the degree of human atrocities against fellow humans will send cold chills through your veins. Why all these? Because men love darkness more than light. Men are not at peace with themselves. Jesus is the light. Repent and choose Him.

Jesus still transforms the miserable and defeated lives of many who turn to him. There are certain individuals who seem to be making a great life for themselves, yet deep in their hearts, and at their lonely moments, they really know there is a great void in their lives. If there is such a void in your heart, then turn to Jesus. Dear brother or sister, I wish to say to you that this Jesus we are talking about is not a myth. He has transformed millions of people from all shades of life. He loves you dearly. He is closer than your very breath. He is only a prayer or better still a sincere heartfelt request away. Just whisper a prayer saying Lord Jesus I need you to deliver me from darkness. He would instantly respond to that heart cry and save your soul. He would deliver you from the love of darkness which is gradually drawing you into eternal darkness and torment. You can make the following prayer.

Dear heavenly father, I know I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins. I surrender my life to the Lord Jesus today. Save my soul and be the Lord over my life. I believe you were raised to life after the third day of your crucifixion.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 14:27 NET “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.”

I wish to ask you this question, do you have peace of mind? This is a state that has eluded a great number of people. I listened to the testimony of a man who went deep into Buddhism making great strides into this religion yet never found true peace. He finally met the king of kings, the prince of peace our Lord Jesus Christ who brought real peace to Him. The world indeed promises a kind of peace yet it has failed woefully to satisfy the heart of anyone who sort for peace the worldly way.

Some have used the mechanical way, that is to practice yoga and meditation, yet the proponents of such practices know very well it is a mirage. It gives a level of inner calmness, yet the real peace of mind and heart eludes you. Some also try psychology yet they could not find true peace. A great number of people have sort for peace by seeking pleasure and amusements but, most of them are living very miserable lives. Some have become drug addicts, womanizers, drunkards and basically chasers of the wind. Why can’t any other way outside Christ bring peace to men. The Bible describes anyone who does not submit to the Lordship of Jesus as the wicked. This is what the word of God says about the wicked. Isa 57:20 & 21 KJV “But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”

Any attempt at getting peace outside Jesus is the worldly way, and that cannot give you the peace you need. There is no true peace for any man outside Jesus Christ. Outside Jesus, you are like the troubled sea which cannot rest, giving out mire and dirt. The peace Jesus gives is like a military guard over your heart and mind, that keeps it from the constant ranging turbulence in the world. The following description of God’s peace is given by the Amplified Bible. Philippians 4:7 “And God’s peace

which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. This peace mounts a guard over your mind and heart. Nothing in the world can do this for you. If you know peace is a mirage to you then don’t wait any further, surrender your life to Jesus right now.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly FATHER, my effort at seeking peace on my own terms has failed. I bow my knees to Jesus and surrender my life to Him. I declare that He is the Lord of my life and Savior of my soul.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 14:27 KJV “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”.

The word peace is translated from the Greek word “eirene”. This word means: to be at one’ or s state of tranquility. As I share the gospel with people, I do ask them whether they have peace of mind. Most of them declare they don’t have peace of mind. The Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), and how can they have peace without Him? Our opening scripture says He gives us His peace, not as the world gives. What is the peace of the world.?

The peace of the world comes from the happenings that gives one a level of satisfaction and some excitement. It also comes from conditions that we have control over. The question to ask ourselves is, how many conditions around us that we have control over? You may have so much money yet you cannot control the fearful situations in the world. The horrible diseases that assail most men have no answer. Our world has the potential to be so dangerous that, one mad leader can destroy a big portion of our world by pressing a button to release a nuclear war head. Men seek amusements in all sorts of things yet deep down in their hearts they are filled with fears, uncertainties of all kinds. There are some who have very horrible night time sessions with all kinds of strange beings and powers. In the day time they appear normal yet the night is a moment they wished never existed. People have various levels of turmoil. Each one’s case is unique. Dear reader, do not allow your pride to keep you from seeking help. Come to Jesus today. He has successfully given peace to millions of people who lived in turmoil.

JESUS IS real. I can boast in Him of having true peace. I would not say every condition is perfect with me, yet I have a real Lord who is lord over every issue in my life. He is my shepherd and therefore I have no want. My peace is intact. It is the kind Jesus alone can give. The peace Jesus gives, is a supernatural power that preserves your heart and mind irrespective of what may be going on. You receive it as a response of your faith in Him. He will give you the peace that passes all understanding (Phil 4:6) He has all power to set you free from every power, master, disease, situation or person if the need be. Jesus is very real. His Lordship over your life means peace of mind in a world filled with turmoil. The only condition is to throw away every pride and believe in Him. Confess Him as your Lord and Savior. Welcome Him into your heart and life and know that He has come into your heart. You would instantly have a kind of peace that nothing can explain. You can say the following prayer.

PRAYER

Dear heavenly father, I have come to my wits end. I bow my knees to the Lordship of Jesus, the Christ . Come into my life today and be my Lord and Savior.

Ephesians 2:14 NET “For he is our peace, the one who made both groups into one and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 7:13 KJV “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:”

C S Lewis the Irish Christian apologetic ones said ” The safest road to hell, is the gradual one, the gentle slope, soft under foot, without sudden turnings, without milestones and without signposts” The picture painted by this great Christian philosopher is that, the road to hell is with great ease. The Lord said the way that leads to life is strait. This road is full of obstacles standing close about. This road requires carefulness and a constant struggle to resist temptation. Please note this, the word used by the Lord Jesus is not ‘straight’ which means not crooked, but the word is strait which is narrow, difficult to be entered and so a few treads on it.

The way to death and destruction is broad easy and free. It is the place of doing what pleases the heart. This road is spacious and many people are taking that path. It is the way of the flesh. Those who would not endure any slightest challenge or difficulty. There are many people even Christians who would compromise when the way gets ‘tough and rough. What they say is, everyone is doing it, so there is nothing wrong if I also do it.  This is the real essence of the road into death. Where are you treading?

THIS message goes for all persons including those who claim they are Christians, and those who have not given their lives to the master. What kind of life are you living?

A person on the broad way is praised by all people and his life pleases all men. Woe to you if everyone praises you, satan may be the choir director.

A person on the broad road does not love the Lord nor the word of God. He would be a self-centered individual. Titus 1:16 KJV They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Such people claim to know God yet they are very disobedient to Him

Such people are sensual and earthly minded Philip 3:18 & 19 KJV (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

The scripture said these are enemies of the cross of Christ. This means they would not make any sacrifice for the sake of Christ in any way, their god is their belly. They are full of satisfying their carnal appetites. Their end is destruction and they mind earthly things.

The only way out is to repent and choose the way to life. You must throw away all bad actions. Break with some friends. Clean your mobile phone of certain pictures and films and replace them with scripturally inspiring ones. Stop some habits and commit your life to honoring God’ in all you do.

PRAYER

MY father in heaven I come to you in Jesus name. I turn away from all my stubborn ways. Lord Jesus l call on you to be my lord and the Savior of my soul.
