KEY SCRIPTURE: John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.

In our key scripture, the Lord said He is the way the truth and the life.  The Lord said He is truth.  He did not just preached the truth but he was the truth.

The biggest challenge facing men is how to know what truth as against error is. Satan the god of this world is the father of lies. A lie can easily be taken for truth because its grand purpose is to deceive. No wonder the Bible says the devil has deceived the whole world (Revelation 12:9). How can all these countless number of religious be truthful?  The Lord Jesus knew very well that there would be so many teachings that proclaim they are the right way yet deceive many.

What is truth? In John 18:38 Pilate asked the Lord this same question, after the Lord Jesus had told him that he came to bear witness to the truth. Truth is reality. It is that which is constant, abiding, faithful and producing *what it says. Truth is that which liberates and leaves no sense of doubt in the mind of the second party.  Truth is light for in its presence darkness is absent. Truth does not hide and has nothing to hide.  Time, place and events does not affects truth in anyway.

The Lord Jesus is the only one who fulfills every one of the above characteristics of truth.  Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever”. The Lord had not diminished in His miraculous power.  His power to save is forever the same. The sick are healed in our day, just as He did in His day.  No one came to Him with a very filthy or evil life and went back the same. John 6:37 says “All that the Father gives me shall come to me, and Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.

John the beloved wrote the following about Him. “And the word became flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth “. There is nothing doubtful about truth .It does not argue or attempts to explain itself.

Jesus is the greatest one to have as your Lord. Surrender your life to Him today.

The Lord Jesus is truth personified His words have transcended generations healing and enlightening as many who would submit to Him. My life is dependent on His word, and by His word I win throughout in my life.

John 18:37 “Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice”.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the almighty.

Our Lord Jesus declared that He is the way.  He is our righteousness. Through Jesus Christ any man who believes in Him receives God’s righteousness and has a right standing before the Father.

The Bible declares, for all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. This makes everyone guilty and therefore unacceptable before God.  The scripture says in 2nd Corinthians 5:21 “For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”. When the Lord died He become sin for every one of us. The scripture also said, God was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world unto Himself, not inputting their sins unto them…. “. Jesus is our sin bearer, we shared His righteousness.

 Jesus is the only way for man’s righteous standing before God.  Romans 4:25 says “Who was delivered for our offences and was raised again for our justification”. The word justification also means our righteousness. It explains the fact that in His resurrection we resurrected with Him with a completely new nature which had no relation with the one which was crucified with Christ.  If anyone be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things have passed away behold all things has become new”. This new man is one with Jesus and shares His righteousness.

Romans 10:4 says “our Lord Jesus is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes”. This means all the demands of the Law were fulfilled in Him. He was the consummation of all requirements of the law.  Any man who accept Him as the Lord and saviour has automatically fulfilled the law.  The ability to honour the righteous demands of the law is set up within us who believe in Him (Romans 8:3, 4). To be made righteous means we have the ability to live rightly unto God.  That righteous nature has become our very nature.

Dear brother or sister without Jesus no man has God’s righteous nature. Please surrender your life to Him today and receive His righteousness.

I am the righteous of God because my Lord. Jesus became sin so I could become the righteousness of God.  I have the ability to live rightly every day.  My righteous nature gives me boldness daily to stand against any rebellion of the enemy and overcome him.

Philippians 3:9 ” And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith”:

The Lord Jesus declared in our key scripture that He is the way. Men have always sort to find alternatives to the. Jesus way.  Unfortunately all who refuse to accept this way only end up in misery.

In the book of Genesis 3:1-8, the devil came in the form of a serpent and  told  eve  that   if they were to eat the tree of  knowledge of good and evil they would have their eyes opened knowing things as God.  In this instant they forsook God’s way and the result was an awareness of their nakedness, fear that caused them to hide and an ultimate rejection from God’s garden to begin to fern for themselves. Men are presently groping in the dark.

 The Lord Jesus is the way back into God’s light. Indeed He is the light of the world. John 8:12 “Then spoke Jesus again unto them saying I am the light of the world, He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. This is amazing. Everyone who has made Jesus Lord of his or her life is no more in darkness. The Lord said He shall also have the light of life.  He does not only abide in the light but He would also become light unto others. Matthew 5:14.

Light is solution and light brings vision. John 1:4, 5 also iterates that in Him was life, and that life was the light of men, and the light shines in darkness and darkness has never overpowered it.  This is the dwelling place of all Christians, they are in the light. Light also means deliverance from evil. Light is liberation.

1st Peter 2:9 reminds us that we have been brought or rescued from darkness into His marvelous light. Jesus is the light and the way into this light.

 Where are you dear reader? To be in darkness means to be ruled by sin, sicknesses and all forms of satanic oppression. Darkness is the power of Satan .If you are devoid of a peaceful mind, then you are in darkness. Why suffer in darkness when you can freely enjoy the liberty and privileges of God’s light. Come to Jesus.

Lord Jesus you came to bring us light and to make us light.  I accept you into my life today. I receive your light into my life.

The Lord Jesus declared, I am the way. What is the way? The gospel or good news is that way.. The gospel is basically the news about the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. 1st Corinth 15:3&4, put it this way, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”: Believing this message concerning the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ ushers a man into eternal life. This is the only way to receive eternal life. .

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

Eternal life is not only received after death but   the very moment an individual believes in the Lord Jesus.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: ….” (John 3:36) Eternal is also the very life of God. John 5:26 ” For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;”

This life in the Son is what is given to us when we believe in Jesus.1 John 5:12  ” He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life”.

What would this eternal life do for you?

Eternal life makes you superior to the devil and gives you victory over him. It helps you to lead the supernatural life. This involves walking in love, Holiness and experiencing the miraculous power of God. Above all these God gives you His peace.

You can be a partaker of eternal life, if you would turn the control of your life unto Him (JESUS)

Our key scripture implies that Jesus is the only way to God. To say that I am the way means other ways lead elsewhere. Why is this so?

There is a big difference in the functioning of Christianity as compared or related to other faiths. All the other faiths, function by laws, codes of conduct and practices that the practitioners go through in order to please the Supreme Being. The new age teaching revolve everything around man. They teach that man has inherent powers that could make him achieve all things by himself. This particular kind of faith, does not have a specific supreme being.

In Christianity God has come to live in men through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Revelation 3:20, 1st Corinthians 3:16). The Christian does not live by his natural life, but the Spirit of Jesus lives through his flesh. Galatians 2:20 ” I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me”. It is only in Christianity that God relates with His subjects as children. God becomes our Father. The relationship we have with Him becomes inseparable.  This is very different from what all other religions are practicing.

In Christianity we are not followers who are trying to be acceptable as we have in religions like Islam and the others. We become one with Christ. 1st Corinthians 6:17 “He that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit”.  John 15:1-8 gives a metaphorical representation of it. It says Jesus is the true vine, the Father is the husbandman, and we are the branches. The branches and the vine share the same life. Christianity is a mysterious relationship between the Christian and Christ. Ephesians 5:30 “for we are members of His body of His flesh and of His bones”.

All these has come to pass because of what Jesus came to do. He is the only way to God.

Religion is man seeking for God by finding ways to please Him. Christianity brings men into oneness with God who lives in us and works through us. His laws are fulfilled in me, so it is my nature to live to please Him.

The world has had a number of men who gave messages that was supposed to lead people to God. These men have been followed by many in different forms. The result is so many religions that makes people wonder which of these religions is true.

Our key scripture reveals an absolute, straight forward and an unambiguous declaration that leaves no one in doubt .The Lord JESUS said He is THE way. This definite article leaves no room for any other way. He said I am the way. No one has been so definite to make such an uncompromising and an unambiguous statement.  What are His credentials to make Him speak this way?

Everything about His life makes Him stand out.

The birth and life of JESUS was prophesied thousands of years before He was born.(Gen 3:15, Deuteronomy 18:15.) Isaiah 7:14  “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” There are countless prophecies about him spread throughout the Old Testament. All these prophecies about His lifetime have been fulfilled..

The Bible reveals Jesus as God. John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. Now just consider what 1st Timothy 3:16 says about Him   ” And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory”.

The Lord Jesus demonstrated in His lifetime that he is the way. He made statements like, I am the resurrection and the life(John 11:25)  I  am the light of the world (John 8:12)  I am the alpha and omega.(Rev 1:8) ,I am the bread of life. (John 6:35). Besides these definite statements He did the impossible throughout His ministry period. He healed all the sick that were brought to Him.(Matt 18:16,Matt 4:24)He raised the dead after 4 days (John 11:44)He fed over five thousand people with just five loaves and two fishes.  Time and space cannot permit me to state most of what He did.

Besides all these He gave Himself up to be killed and on the third day He resurrected from the dead (1st Corinth 15:3&4, Luke 24:23)

His words have brought peace of mind to countless millions and totally transformed men from all forms of miserable lives. Immoral men and women have been changed. Completely mad people have been restored to a sound mind. Armed robbers have been saved, even those who appeared  good on the outside but  sinful and hurting  within have all been saved, and  so what about  you?.

You can also experience This Only Way that leads to life, today, if you would accept to make Him Lord of your life.

Romans 10:9-10 ” That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”.

Titus 2:11-12 ” For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world”;

KEY SCRIPTURE:Matthew 4:4 ” But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”.

Our Lord Jesus said that man can and must live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. This is perfect truth and very refreshing.

2nd Timothy 3:16,17 reads “All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto every good work”. God’s word is our standard for living. God’s word have creative power and can cause to manifest that which is not there (Romans 4:17). God’s word is a lamb unto our feet and light for or path (Psalm 119:105). God’s word is medicine for our bodies (Proverbs 4:22). God’s word is alive and powerful, it is also sharper than any two edged sword. (Hebrews 4:12). God’s word is God Himself In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.(John 1 ;1-2

God’s word is the best choice to rule your life. Indeed man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the word of God. We have to live by it. This vast and unreachable universe made up of billions of galaxies are held in place by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). It is sheer stupidity for a man to ignore God’s word and try to make any headway in life. Some may seem to be making something with their lives without God, yet their loss is too vast. Submission to the word brings peace (Phil.4:6) There is no man * without Christ who has true peace. Some may try to create some mechanical peace, yet they know very well that, they don’t have real peace.

Submission to God’s word gives God access to dominate your life and act through you. The Christian is God living in a man acting through Him. What on earth can overcome such a man?

God’s word is my delight. It is my life and breath. By His word I am more than a conqueror and life is really worth living because of the word the dictates whatever I do.

Psalms 112:1-8 ” Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth forever. Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he shall not be moved forever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 4:4 ” But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

The Lord Jesus answered the devil and said “it is written that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”.

In this very temptation Satan wanted the Lord to break the order of waiting for proper time to break his fast, and also to abuse his authority to turn stones into bread to satisfy His hunger. The Lord told him that the things of the flesh is not the ultimate.
This thought is a very important idea to hold.

Many people easily fall for all sorts of carnal things. Many men live as if there is no God who rules in the affairs of men. The Lord Jesus gave a statement in Luke 12:15 as follows ” And He said unto them. Take heed and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things he possesseth”. The material things we have and use are good but they must never dictate our behaviour and actions.

In the Lord’s temptation Satan was calling on Him to break God’s word and order ,to choose something carnal. This area of temptation remains Satan’s number one strategy to trap most men. Christians may be striving with each other because of something carnal. The desire for wealth have caused a number of people and even Christians to act in ways that are simply out of place. Some people have consulted with devils to be given power to make wealth. Some commit grievous sacrifices of all sorts of things so they could get this money rituals.

Please dear child of God or dear reader please heed the caution of the Lord. What does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and lose his soul? (Matthew 16:26). What would a man give in exchange of his soul?

O men, when are we going to learn. Just go to the refuse dump and you would learn that, that thing for which you are sacrificing your precious soul would one day become waste and would be a nuisance for you to keep at home. It would be only useful for the refuse dump.

Your soul will live with you into eternity but non of these carnal things would. .

CONFESSION
Bread or carnal things have its usefulness, yet they are not everything. I would never allow these things to take the place of God in my life. I will always put God first.

Matthew 16:26 “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Genesis 3:6-7 “” And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 4:4 ” But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God”.

When Satan came, tempting the Lord He replied with the word of God.

What would He have done if He knew not the word of God? Too many Christians are held captives by so many schemes of the devil because they do not have the right answers for the devil. Satan may attack one’s morals, or finances, commitment to the work of God, health and many more. The Christian must not be defeated in any of these cases. A lot of Christians have become failure minded such that, they accept the saying “to err is human”. This mindset makes them easily give in to the advances of the devil.

Please child of God you are born an overcomer. 1st John 5:4 ” For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith”. You have been born an overcomer and must not accept any defeatist mentality, No! Get to know the truth, for the weapon of the enemy is lies. John 8:32 says “And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”. How can one know the truth if he or she does not take time to study and meditate on the scriptures? 2nd Timothy 2:15 instructs us as follows “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. The word “study” also means be “diligent “. It means do your best to show yourself approved unto God, right dividing the word of truth.

When you are able to rightly divide or apply the word you would have a ready answer for the devil whenever he shows up. The Lord Jesus was never found wanting when He was tempted, He spoke out the sword of the spirit and the devil was cut to pieces.

Use the sword of the spirit rightly all the time and you would never be found wanting.

   CONFESSION

The word of God is forever in my heart and on my lips, ready for any eventuality that shows up. By the word Satan and his demons are always cut into size

Joshua 1:8 ” This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.

Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”:

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 4:4 ” But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Our Lord Jesus was tempted by the devil (to break God’s word to satisfy his hunger). The Lord stood His grounds and pushed away the schemes of the devil.

Many people fail in such times, why? Apostle James gives us some answers to this. James 1:13-15. In verse 14, the word says, “But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed”. From James statement does it mean that when the individual is not drawn away by his own lust then he is not tempted? I think that is exactly what he is saying. From this verse Ii see two aspects in every temptation.

1. The condition that put a strain on one’s desire.
2. One’s negative response (lust) to the condition.

In every temptation, there is the trial that is the condition posing as a test and the person’s negative, response which the apostle James calls temptation. This second aspect is a process:

1 It starts with lust drawing one away from God’s word.

2. The next stage is enticement; where one is deceived or caught by a bait. This is the stage where the heart is hardened according to Hebrews 3:13 “But exhort one another daily while it is called today: lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin”.

3 At the third stage Apostle James said lust conceives and finally the act is committed (gives birth to Sin).

4 .At the final stage when sin is finished, it brings forth death (James 1:15)

Dear child of God this should not be your portion. The Christian is not in the flesh to live after the flesh. Romans 8:9. “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit…..”.

Use your tongue to reverse this wrong process of temptation. The Lord Jesus said it is written and then quoted the scripture. Tell the devil and your flesh that it is written, “That I am are not in the flesh to live after the flesh”. Tell the devil and your flesh again, it is written. “Sin shall not have dominion over me”. (Romans 6:14).

Remember that the right use of the tongue bridles or controls the whole body (James 3:2).

Don’t go down into the valley of sin, speak your way unto the mountain of Holiness.

 CONFESSION

I am not in the flesh to obey the dictates of the flesh, rather i am in the Spirit and so I am subjected to the ways and instructions of the Spirit which is the word of God. I live above every temptation of the devil in Jesus name.
