HOW GOD FUNCTIONS BY FAITH

KEY SCRIPTURE: Romans 4:17 “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were”.

The Holy Spirit once again exposes a truth that we all need to pay closer attention to. It was said about Abraham in Gen 17:5 as follows “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram but thy name shall be called Abraham for a father of many nations have I made thee. Abram means exalted father, but the Lord changed his name and called him Abraham. Abraham means the father of many nations. It implied God had made him a father of many nations. Apostle Paul, through the Holy Spirit, said that God calls those things that are not as though they were, and he also quickens the dead.

These truths reveal a very important fact about the nature of God. We realize that what God promises to happen in the future must be treated as having happened. He also gives life to that which might be dead. What he (Paul) is saying is that when dealing with a promise of God counts, it is done. God has no impossibilities. It is men who have impossibilities.

Two things are impossible for men:

  1. The things that do not exist.
  2. That which is dead. From our key scripture, the Lord teaches us how to handle these so-called impossibilities of men. He calls that which is not as though it was. This is what we call faith. Faith always sees what should be in the future now. Faith does not know it will happen tomorrow, but it has happened. (Hebrews 11:1)This is the realm of God. If that which God is relating with is dead, He gives life to it.

We must approach God’s promises on this principle. We must believe that what we hope to have in the future is present with us now. The word “impossible” is not in God’s vocabulary. It is in the vocabulary of fallen men. Now that we are born again, we are alive unto God(Ephesians. 2:1)

To partake of the promises of God, you must also go into God’s realm and call that which should be in the future now or today. If some condition is dead, declare that life has come into it. Praise God about it. You can not be disappointed. Keep acting that way till you finally see it in reality. Abraham kept calling himself the father of many nations, although physically he was not. He was functioning as God does, calling those things that are not as though they were.

CONFESSION

I live in the realm of God, and that is the realm of faith. I do not live in the future concerning God’s promises. They are all now with me. In this way, I always experience the reality of His promises.

ABRAHAM’S BLESSINGS

KEY SCRIPTURE: Genesis 22:18And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.”

What do the blessings of Abraham entail? Before we go into the details of some of the blessings of Abraham, I wish that you make up your mind that you will walk in these blessings for they are true, real, and very compelling.

Please listen to what the Spirit said in

Galatians 3:17 “And this I say that the covenant that was confirmed before of (by) God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after cannot disannul, (render ineffective) that it should make the promise of none effect”.

What the above scripture means is that the Abrahamic covenant has been confirmed by God in Christ, and as a result, the law that came into effect 430 years later cannot render it ineffective.

Some of the blessings of Abraham found in Genesis 12:1-3, 17:2-3, 22:17–18 are as follows

Multiplication of seed as the sand of the seashore and the stars of heaven. Fruitfulness is your package.

Every seed of Abraham shall possess the gates of their enemies.

All nations shall be blessed

All who bless you are blessed, and all who curse you are cursed.

Make thee a great nation and make thy name great.

(Note: Whatever was said to Abraham is said to you.)

A woman whom the Lord declared to be loosed from her bondage in Luke 13 was met by the displeasure of the ruler of the synagogue; who said she should come for healing on another day, and not the Sabbath day. The Lord answered him and said “And ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has bound lo these eighteen years be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day Luke 13:16. The Lord implied that because she is a daughter of Abraham and benefactor of the blessings of Abraham she must not continue to suffer. Today decide to be free from anything that is holding you captive and bound. You are a daughter or a son of Abraham and you must be free.

Among the blessings of Abraham, the bible says the seed of Abraham shall possess the gates of their enemies. The word possess is translated from the Hebrew word “yarash” which means to seize, dispossess, take possession off, inherit, disinherit, or occupy. This is very refreshing. It implies no enemy should overcome you. If you will take your stand on the word, no enemy will ever overpower you. We have also been blessed with the greatness and riches of Abraham.

Galatians 3:9 reads “So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham “.

God blesses us because we believe His word and honour Him. Claim these blessings based on your place in Christ.

CONFESSION

I am a son or a daughter of Abraham. I am blessed alongside faithful Abraham. I possess the gates of my enemies, I am exceedingly fruitful, and my impact is felt by all men for He has made me very great.

THOUGHT: ABRAHAM’S BLESSINGS ARE OURS IF WE WOULD INSIST THAT THEY ARE OURS.
