KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 19:19 “Honor thy father and thy mother: and thou shall love your neighbor as thyself”.
Our Lord Jesus told His disciples to love their neighbors. Love is the proper language of creation. Creation freely gives to sustain itself. That is the language of love, it freely gives off its best.
The sun gives its best rays without expecting anything from the rest of creation. The plants receive the sunshine and reciprocally gives off oxygen and water into the atmosphere. It gives it, not on demand but a free supply of the indispensable substances to support other lives.
When love is taken out of creation, life would be extinct. Selfishness which is possessiveness ,or an attitude to keep and never to share ,or give out to support others ,is poison to individual’s hearts ,and an evil weapon of mass destruction.( SELFISHNESS HAS MADE AFRICA WHAT IT IS TODAY ) Hate it, and kick it out of your life and you would stop it’s menace in your homes and surroundings.
Show me a man or woman of love and I have found a matured person. Show me a wife or husband who is selfish and I would reveal to you a home of great pain and sorrow. Love is beauty in the heart.
Now look at the portrait of love from the New Living Translation of 1st Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind. These traits, patience is a sense of accommodating certain adverse tendencies from others without retaliation. Kindness is freely giving or sharing any good thing you have to bless, lift or support others.
We see that in love you take the mistakes of others, yet you are ready to share all good things with these same people without bearing any grudges or ill motives. Love indeed is medicine. LET LOVE LEAD.
I am a lover of all persons. I have been liberated by the love of Jesus so I likewise love all men. I am able to bear with all the mistakes of my neighbors and yet without the slightest sense of being taken advantage of.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Romans 13:9 “For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”.
