KEY SCRIPTURE: Hosea 4:6 ” My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
According to our key scripture many are destroyed because of the lack of knowledge. The word destroy is also translated perish or ‘to be cut down’. A lack of proper understanding of God’s word causes many to speak in ways that are contrary to God’s word and gives the enemy an advantage over them. When you say the wrong thing over a long time your human spirit acknowledges that information and responds accordingly.
A number of songs we sing train our human spirit very wrongly. This makes you weak to overcome the schemes of the devil. The Bible calls this act as opposing oneself. 2nd Timothy 2:25. “In meekness instructing those that OPPOSE themselves: If God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledgement of the truth”.
Apostle Paul was telling Timothy to instruct some of the brethren who oppose themselves. These brethren have believed certain things that are not in consonance with God’s word, yet they stand by them. Let me give one example which may not directly relate to healing: When you sing a song like “ABIDE WITH ME”. Such a song may not appear harmful in any way, but think of this further, the Lord has promised to be with you and never to forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5, 6). When you consistently say or sing such words you build within your consciousness that God is not always present with you, and must be asked to come to be with you. In certain challenging moments you will falter in faith because you have opposed yourself with error.
Another example of one who spoke wrongly contrary to what God is and suffered for it was Job. It is believed by most people that Job spoke rightly when he said “…..the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away blessed be the name of the Lord”. (Job 1:21). If you are to study the book carefully you would realise this was not true. It was God who blessed him with all that he had yet it was never God who took away from Job.
From Job 1:3-6. Satan came to the presence of the Lord and accused Job of serving God because God had blessed him so much and had hedged him round about. TO BE CONTINUED.
I have received God’s word and always say what God says. My spirit is trained with the word and therefore I consistently overcome Satan and all his schemes.
Ephesians 6:13 ” Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 ” All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”.
