KEY SCRIPTURE:1 Samuel 16:18. “Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.”
When an evil spirit tormented King Saul, one of his servants suggested that they find a man who could cunningly play the harp, so that the evil spirit would depart from him. The servant who suggested that he had seen David play very well, also said about David. 1st Samuel 16:18 “Then answered one of the servants, and said. Behold I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing and a mighty valiant man and a man of war, and prudent in matters and a comely person and the Lord is with him”. David was very skillful in playing the harp. Proverbs 18:16 says “A man’s gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men”. This was exactly what happened to David; his gift made room for him.
Nobody is without a special gift or talent. God always places one’s potential to succeed within himself or herself. Discover it and be excellent in doing it. David had no idea that the harp he used to play, singing songs to praise God and to amaze himself was going to open doors of breakthrough for him. Practice makes one perfect. The servant also described David as a mighty valiant man, and a man of war. David was only a shepherd boy, what made him a valiant man as well as a man of war. David revealed before fighting Goliath that he solely killed a bear and a lion. I believe these stories went around. In your life don’t see challenges as barriers. David treated his challenges as a means of God’s power being demonstrated through him. David said the following to King Saul.
1st Samuel 17:34,35 “And David said unto Saul; thy servant kept his father’s sheep and there came a lion and bear and took a lamb out of the flock. And I went out after him and delivered it out of his mouth, and when he arose against me, I caught him by the beard and smote him, and slew him”. He faced his challenges and overcame. Your past victories become stepping Stones to achieve greater victories. Every challenge to the Christian is meant to make a champion out of him or her. Don’t run away from them. Face them in faith, knowing the greater one is with you and in you.
Stop taking challenges personal It’s His glory that is at stake and He would surely glorify his name if you don’t run away or give up. THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S.
I am greater than every challenge that rises against me. In the name of Jesus, no attack of the enemy on my life or anything about me shall prevail.
Psalms 18:34 ” He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.”
1 John 4:4. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”.
