KEY SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:10 KJV” Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might”.
Our key scripture calls on us to be strong in the Lord. It is calling on us to be firm in our adherence to Him and His words. It involves a readiness never to be faithless in Him no matter what threatens us or opposes us. We see throughout the bible many who stood very strong for the Lord in the face of life threatening situations.
In Daniel chapter three, King Nebuchadnezzar erected a golden statue and demanded everyone to bow to that image, if not they would be thrown into a fiery furnace. There were some three Hebrew boys, Shadrach Meshach, and Abednego, who decided to keep faith with God and not bow to the image. They were prepared to die than to be unfaithful to God. They were strong in the Lord. You can also stand for the Lord in any adverse cases that may come against you.
The second aspect of our key scripture talks about being strong in the power of His might. The Greek word translated as power in the above verse is “kratos” This power is different from the other Greek word for power, ‘dunamis'(Acts 1:8). Dunamis is the dynamic miracle working power of the Holy Spirit in the believer. ‘Kratos’ is the total sum of God’ s power combined. It is God’s ruling or domineering power. An analogy of the two is: Dunamis can be compared to a fully armed soldier with every weapon ready to fight, but ‘Kratos’ is the whole of the army units combined. The power of God’s might refers to the totality of the power of God made available to you. This is what we are called to be strong in. It means to fully make this power come to bear in every issue of our lives. This is an insurmountable power. It means no grounds for fear as well as letting down on your diligence to give the far weaker enemy an advantage
Dear child of God you can’t afford to be weak in the presence of this insurmountable power. He has provided the supernatural armour of God so that you can make use of this almighty power available to us. Note our allegiance is unto God and we can’t afford to let anything come in between us. Satan’ s game is to get us to break our allegiance through sin, unbelief or any form of disloyalty to our heavenly father. Never let it happen. There is too much at stake to keep, hold and preserve than allow the enemy to dispossess us of our true heritage, that is God and the power of His might. He can’t take God and this power away from us, but can make you lose your place in God thereby having the full right to take advantage of you.
