KEY SCRIPTURE: “Ephesians 6:17 KJV and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”

The next armour to carry or use is the word of God. The Bible calls it the sword of the Spirit. In the new testament, there are two different words in Greek translated as word. These words are logos and rhema. Logos refers mainly to the written word, whiles rhema refers mainly to the spoken word.  Rhema refers to a specific word from God at a specific moment of which a child of God declares, speaks forth or acts upon. In the scripture above the word in Greek for ‘word of God’ is Rhema. For warfare against Satan and his cohorts you speak out a specific word inspired by the Holy Spirit.

In Hebrews 4:12, the Bible reveals what the ‘rhema’ of God, or the spoken inspired word is and its potency. Heb 4:12 KJV” For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. “In this verse the Bible reveals that the rhema or spoken word is living. The word is a person. It is also powerful, which means it is active, operative and effective. It has power to bring to pass whatever it says. It is also sharper than any two-edged sword. In the Greek language the word translated ‘sharper’ have the meaning to strike ones. This suggests that, when you speak the word against any situation it dismantles that thing at the very first stroke. Hebrews 4:13, also reveals “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do”. Dear child of God, whenever you speak out the word in faith against any condition, please know that, every wrong condition becomes helpless, naked and cannot be hidden.

When Satan tempted the Lord Jesus at the commencement of His ministry, the Lord kept telling the devil it is written. In Luke 4:12, the Lord no longer said it is written but said, ‘it is said……’ At this instant He spoke a rhema. May you be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to say the inspired word of God for a specific condition to overcome the enemy. Speak the word all the time. Don’t just reason out from a human point of view, say what God says and you would stop the advancing enemy in every contest. Faith in your heart and the word spoken is just like the Father Himself speaking.

CONFESSION

The word spoken in faith against the devil, dominates him and his works. I will continue to use God’s word daily in every situation. The word gives me victory continually.
