KEY SCRIPTURE: Numbers 20:8 NET “Take the staff and assemble the community, you and Aaron your brother, and then speak to the rock before their eyes. It will pour forth its water, and you will bring water out of the rock for them, and so you will give the community and their beasts water to drink.”
The above scripture teaches us vividly one way to activate the power of God. Activating the power of God is manifesting the glory of God. John 2:11 KJV “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him”. In our key scripture the Israelites needed water, so they pressurised Moses to get them water. Moses enquired of the Lord who instructed him to do the following:
1.Take his staff
2.Assemble the people
3 Speak to the rock before their eyes.
(This was to sanctify the Lord before the people- Numbers 20:12)
Moses was to carry the staff. The staff has been a symbol of God’s presence and instrument of manifesting His power. You must always declare to men the fact that God is with you and would do as He has been doing. The presence of the staff of Moses communicated that message to the people.
The second instruction was to assemble the people. Understand that the presence of people places a demand on the power of God to be manifested. Never shun or be shy about the presence of people. God is not interested in hiding to show His power. God loves that men know His power.
The final instruction was that, he had to speak to the rock to give out water. Speaking to situations is God’s principle for creating things (Heb 11:3).
One of the biggest hindrances to working miracles is the fear of failure before people. God desires to reveal His glory before men. To ensure total dominion over prevailing danger say before all men that God is your sure defense and you are exempted from destruction. In this way you have exalted God’s name among men and placed a demand on His integrity to save you. God’s power would surely come through for you. Jesus did the same (John 11, Luke 4:18&19,) David did the same in 1st Samuel 17:22-52). Elijah did the same 1st Kings 18:19-39. He will not fail you.
I declare before men about God’s presence with men. I speak to situations in His name. God always reveal His glory to men and my life is blessed by His works in Jesus name.
March 11:23 KJV” For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.
Hebrews 11:3 KJV” Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”.
