ACCEPTING THE WILL OF GOD

KEY SCRIPTURE: —Matthew 16:21 (KJV). “From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.”

Our Lord Jesus shows his disciples God’s agenda for His life. He would go to Jerusalem, be arrested by the Priests and scribes. He would then be bound, ridiculed, beaten and finally crucified. The Lord had accepted God’s verdict for His life. Jesus said “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”— Matthew 16:25 (KJV). The Lord by this statement means doing the will of God is better and always a means to save your life.

Every child of God must also come to a place of making the will of God first in everything he does. This is an issue which is very difficult for most people. Why was our Lord Jesus so quick in accepting such a fatal stand for his life? There have been many people of God who have also accepted God’s verdict for their lives. Apostle Paul said “According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.”—Philippians 1:20 (KJV). What is the secret of all these men and women who were ready to accept God’s verdict for their lives, although it meant losing their life? Their secret was a personal knowledge of God

God cannot be known by reason. He cannot even be known by reading about Him. One can only know Him by accepting what He has said about Himself enough to act on it. This is always. an individual action and not by a group or cooperate issue. Decide to accept God’s revelation of Himself. Act upon what He has said. You would surely know Him.

CONFESSION

I have accepted God’s verdict for my life. I am ready to do whatever He tells me, even if it means losing whatever that may bring glory to His name.
