KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 17:12 (KJV). “But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.”

There are certain medical conditions when an individual should visit the doctor with them, the doctor will ask, did any of your parents have this condition? This is called a hereditary condition. It is a condition that goes from one generation to the other. In a similar vein there are spiritual conditions that goes from one generation to the other. If you know of what battled and even destroyed your father or mother, then you must, start fighting it now. If you fail to fight and stop it now, it will destroy you also. Examples of these are, certain untimely deaths, negative occurrences at a particular time or age etc.

The Bible said John the Baptist will come in the power and spirit of Elijah. “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, ………” Luke 1:17 (KJV).

In the days of Elijah Jezebel vowed to kill him (1 Kings 19:2) The spirit of Jezebel continued with its vow against Elijah, by attacking John the Baptist through Herodias. “For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias’ sake, his brother Philip’s wife.”—Matthew 14:3 (KJV) It was Herodias who requested for the head of John the Baptist on a charger. Matt 14:8. John the Baptist had no idea what was against his life by virtue of the grace he inherited,

Dear brother or sister, what was that thing which challenged the peace and stability of your parents. You were in the lions of your parents. Whatever fought your father or mother, if it is a spirit, then it sees you just like your father or mother. Please rise up in prayer and stop it today. If not, it will come at you and do to you what it did to your father

The Spirit of Jezebel could not kill Elijah, but succeeded in killing John who walked in the spirit of Elijah

How to deal with what confronted your parents. Address it rightly, according to how it attacked your father. Stand on your immunity as provided in the finished work of Jesus. (Gal 3:13, Col1:12,13, 2 Corinth 5:17) Declare to these spirits that you are exempted from their activities and you break their hold over your life. Always declare that because of Jesus sacrifice for you, you are free from their attacks. Remember to thank God always.

CONFESSION

Whatever spirit that fought my parents and forefathers, I declare to you, I am a new creation in Jesus Christ, I have been delivered from your dominion. I am exempted from your activities. In the mighty name of Jesus, I break your hold over my life. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, I am exempted totally from your attacks. AMEN.
