BE KIND

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 25:40. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

The Lord gave a picture of the final judgement for all humanity. He made mention of one act which would be highly commended in the coming kingdom. That is doing good to one another. The Lord revealed that, all kind deeds done to our neighbours were unto Him. This should give us a new understanding about how we see, and subsequently treat one another. Our siblings who grew along with us can assume certain informal relationship such that we may not treat them with that kind of respect and love.

The married home should be a place of real love and respect, yet couples keep hurting each other to the point that they become like enemies to each other. How do you treat the house help or maid that is living with you? To some of us these people are children of others, and so do not need any special affection or tender care. There are some house helps who always eat something different from what the rest of the family eats. Their meals are very unpalatable, yet they do all the household chores. The Lord said whatever you are doing to that maid is actually unto Him. There are certain employers who fail to pay their employees for so many months. In the meanwhile, such employer will be living good with his family. He is very much aware of the deplorable conditions of his workers, yet it means nothing to him. The Lord Jesus says, those workers who you are refusing to pay are for Him the Lord.

I once passed by a beggar who pleaded for some alms. I took a piece of coin and tossed it into his hands. Instantly my heart smote me. I could sense the Holy Spirit asking me, why couldn’t you give him some dignity by putting the coin into his hands rather than standing at a distance and throwing the coin into his hands. Whatever you do to the beggar you do unto Jesus. Dear nurse, how do you treat your patients who report to your clinics or hospitals for medical help? If you treat them well, then The Lord says on the day of judgement he would say to you, I was sick and you kindly attended to me. I was at the roadside begging for alms and you gave me money in a dignified way.

THOUGHT: WHATEVER YOU DO TO OTHERS, YOU DO IT UNTO THE LORD.
