KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:11 KJV “She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”
Dear patrons of this devotional, we are still looking at a walk with Jesus through the gospels. The Lord at this point turned to the woman and asked ” where are those thine accusers? has no man condemned you? He then added neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more. The Lord could have justified himself by saying, I am the only one that can condemn you.
He could have interrogated her to find out what happened.
Please do not poke your nose into the sins of people. A sinful act that comes from Satan should never be an issue of interest. There are some Christians who sit to discuss the wrongs of others and even make comments on what occurred.
Dear child of God no sinful acts of Satan or his demons should be of interest to you.
If you talk about it then it is to destroy, or help somebody out of it.
To merely spend moments talking about the wrong things Satan uses people to do, with fun and interest is actually a fellowship with that very spirit.
You can easily be overtaken by that error.
The Lord would have nothing to do with what the people were accusing her about.
The Lord lifted her soul by telling her, neither do I condemn you. The bible made a prophecy about the Messiah when He comes in Isaiah 42:3 that” A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth”. A reed is a very tender shoot, which is basically filled with water, and a smoking flax is a fire source that is struggling to light up. It is only a very wicked man who would bruise that which is suffering and about to be quenched. The woman had suffered very serious trauma from these religious zealots, she was already down, like a bruised reed the Lord would not add salt into injury.
Be sensitive to the plight of others
After the Lord had spoken to lighten her up He added, go and sin no more. The effect of sin is more severe than what those religious zealots had wanted to do to her.
Sin kills spiritually and then physically (Gen 2:17).
Sin separates man from God and makes you a habitation of every evil and wicked spirit if that sin is not stopped. (Rom 5:12, John 13:27) Sin gives birth to horrible diseases to afflict its culprits. Joh 5:14 KJV “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”.
CONFESSION
Jesus has shown mercy on me, as a result of that, I have renounced every hidden thing of dishonesty, and I live to please God. I am very sensitive to the plight of others and do not put them down.
THOUGHT: GIVE NO ATTENTION TO PEOPLE’S SINS, FOR WHATEVER YOU ATTEND TO CONTROLS YOU
