KNOWING JESUS IS KNOWING THE FATHER  2

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 8:19 KJV “Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.”

Our topic for today is the answer for the question, who is God? What does He do? Does God exist? Men have struggled with these questions for centuries and many are still yet to have the answers, although God has answered them long time ago, about two thousand years ago. The following scripture reveals vividly the identity of Jesus as He shows us who God is. Heb 1:3 KJV ” Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” Our Lord Jesus is the brightness of the glory of God. He reveals the power and mighty deeds of the great invisible God. He is also the express image of His person. The word ‘express image’ is the Greek word, ‘charakter’ which means the exact expression of any person.

Jesus was a man that history testifies that He once lived on this earth, and made a level of impact in the lives of men, that cannot be wished away by anybody, army or situation.

The worst persecution of His course could not erase His impact because it is true.

His birth into this world reveals God. He had no human father. Luke 1:35 narrated His birth process. It read the Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the highest shall overshadow you, and the child shall be called the Son of God. The term Son of God does not just mean born by God, but it means in the same class, nature as God. It also means He is the God kind, just as son of man means of the human kind. This should erode every question on everyone mind about whether God exists. John writes it this way, and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. John 1:14.

His life was a stream of outstanding and amazing miracles. He turned water into wine, raised a number of dead people back to life, healed countless sick people. He fed multitudes with a few loaves of bread and fishes, on two occasions. He walked on water, calmed a raging storm. He demonstrated a perfect love for all persons, even for all those who hated Him and strove to kill Him. He taught in a way that no teacher has ever taught that way. At the end of a glorious life of blessing, lifting and placing smiles on the faces of all those who came to Him He crowned it with victory over suffering, and death. He gloriously resurrected on the third day to establish that He is Lord over everything, even death, which was the greatest enemy of men. His resurrection was also the victory card for man’s redemption.

All these show us who God is and does.

Once again, His resurrection revealed the invisible God to us. He resurrected never to die again. This shows the reality of everlasting life which only God has, but has been given to all who would believe in Him. Dear one let the questions about the mystery of God cease by accepting the revelation of God in Jesus His Son.

CONFESSION

Jesus brought the great God of the universe to the human experience. In seeing Jesus, I see God and have no questions. The beauty of it is that in seeing Jesus, I also see myself, for He came to live in me. God is at home in my heart. God is not somewhere, but He lives in me, this is only by grace.

THOUGHT:  JESUS IS THE ANSWER TO THE REALITY OF THE INVISIBLE GOD
