LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE

KEY SCRIPTURE: 1 Sam 29:9 KJV And Achish answered and said to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, He shall not go up with us to the battle.

In verse 9, he said, “…I know thou art good and in my sight as an angel of God. David publicised his God so much that when Achish was speaking, he said “…As the Lord lives… “. This means David never stopped talking about his God, even before the king. Dear child of God, our Father calls on us to propagate the gospel through preaching, yet our daily actions of placing Jesus Christ first and living a very upright life also speak volumes about our faith. Let your light shine so much that men will glorify God for your good deeds.

The king described David as an angel. David’s actions were like a spirit. What could have made him lead such an upright life? Psalm 1 talks about the man with a very fruitful life. It says this man does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of the sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night. This is the kind of person David was. A life of God’s word makes one manifest all the traits of a spirit. SPIRITUALITY IS SCRIPTURALLITY.

The Lord Jesus says we must let our light so shine, that men would give glory to our Father who is in heaven. Once again, we can only shine by living in the Spirit or allowing the Spirit to express himself through us. We do this by consciously living by the word of God. Dear one, you are light, by your new birth into Christ. Joh 8:12 KJV” Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

CONFESSION
