FAITH TAKES THE ANSWER. 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:13 KJV “And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the self-same hour.”

We ended our last study with the following question: what happens in the case of the one who believes but still things remain the same? This is a question that has lingered on the minds of many because in their sincerest hearts they have believed the word yet nothing has changed. They may not question verbally, yet deep down in their hearts, they ask, is this word true? Before I proceed further to make any statements, I wish to state that, there is no error, fault or failure in God. If there is any failure, then it is from men and not with God. Heb 6:18 KJV” That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:” God does not have the ability or capacity to lie. We men must study carefully every instruction to posses whatever promise the Lord God has given.

Whenever a child of God believes the word, the promise of God is fully fulfilled in his heart. What we must also be aware of is to know that, we have miracles and recoveries. Miracles can take place by the snap of a finger. Recoveries may take some time to fully come forth. Mark 16:18b reads, and they shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover.  Certain people are not ready to keep trusting the word of God in such moments. They soon question the potency of God’s word or the integrity of God.

The Lord Jesus explains this point in Mark 4:26-29. He said the kingdom of God, or one of the principles of the operations of God is after this manner. When a seed is sown, men sleep and wake up over some days, not knowing how this seed is doing. It then begins to grow. First the blade, then the ear and finally the full corn in the ear. This is the process a grain of corn goes through till it is harvested. (The word is also a seed) The Lord said, that is what happens when a child of God believes the word. If nothing seems to have changed, do not cast away your confidence in the word of God. Please note also that Satan may interfere with your faith in the word by introducing doubt and unbelieve in your mind. This then becomes the real fight. You must stand your ground and never allow any wrong thought against the word of God or God Himself to land in you. (1 Timothy 6:12)

Some brethren keep oscillating between believing and doubting. This is what creates failure for the Christian, causing a longer delay of your answer, more than is necessary. Matters become worse when that person starts accepting that the word of God has failed.

What must you do in such times? Keep listening to faith building messages. Continue confessing your victory and do not consider the symptoms. (Romans 4:17-21)

CONFESSION

Thank you, my dear heavenly father, for your love and power. Your word is as your very self. Ever true and unchanging. I believe whatever your word says, and I have whatever the word says.

1 Timothy 6:12 KJV” Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

Romans 4:19 – 21KJV” And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform”.

FAITH TAKES THE ANSWER

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:13 KJV “And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the self-same hour.”

The Roman centurion had his servant getting well because he believed. Faith is always a supernatural hand that takes hold of the answer. A lady recently came to me saying her elder sister who is pregnant has been overdue for delivery after two months. This sister was in another town about two hundred and eighty kilometres away. I prayed with her and told her the sister would deliver. The sister delivered by twelve o clock the next day. What brought such a quick answer? It was the faith of this lady. The moment she believed she had the answer which reflected in the life of the sister who was so many kilometres away. God our Father is not withholding any answer from anyone, it is up to you to take the answer and go.

In most of the encounters of our Lord Jesus and a lot of the people who came seeking for healing for themselves or another individual, they went away whole because they believed. The Lord commented that their faith had made them whole. In the case of the woman with the issue of blood, she did not talk or even looked into the face of the master, but came from behind and touched the helm of his garment. Her fountain of blood ceased. Matthew 9:22 KJV” But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.”. In the healing of this lady, she did not call the attention of the master, but her faith took hold of her healing. The Lord as a very spiritual man noticed what had taken place. He was not in any way furious with the lady, but was happy for her healing. God rejoices at your healing or deliverance.

We always have a part to play in our healing or receiving any answer that we are anticipating to have. Faith is all about knowing what God have said in His Word, and you placing your confidence in that word such that, you act on it, knowing it is true. Whenever you act in this way you have taken a hold of the answer with your supernatural hands called faith. Whenever our Father God gives a promise, or a statement of a fact,

that word has whatever God is talking about. This very thing, if it is healing or any promise is encapsulated in that word. The moment you believe that word, you have taken possession of whatever God is talking about. Your failure to believe means you don’t have the thing God is saying. Your faith is the final determinant whether you go away with the answer or not. What happens to those who believe yet realize that nothing has changed? We will answer this question in our next study.

CONFESSION

Thank you, heavenly Father, for your love and care for me. Your heart is ever opened up to me to bless me with every good thing. You do not withhold any good thing from me. I also take a hold of your word, that makes available to me whatever you talked about. By my faith I possess my answers. Thank you, dear father.

HELP YOUR FAITH

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:9 KJV” For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.”

The Centurion expressed a level of faith that made Jesus to marvel. This man used his personal life experience to help his faith. From his analysis one could deduce the follow thought pattern that helped his faith:

1 After he had heard about the miraculous ministry of Jesus. He thought that Jesus had super powers to heal all diseases.

2 He also thought that, With the level of authority Jesus had, every spirit would obey him if he is to command it.

These deductions could be made from his statements. This way of thinking or analysing the situation helped his faith. He said to Jesus, you don’t have to come to my house or under my roof, just speak the word and my servant would be made whole. The Lord marvelled at his faith and remarked, Mat 8:10 KJV “When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel”.

Dear one, are you in a kind of condition that requires a great faith? You can reason in a very positive way as he did. Let’s look at another instant that a Syrophoenician woman who came to the Lord for the healing of her daughter did. The Lord told her that healing like bread is for the children. She quickly thought that when, the crumbs dropped on the floor, the dogs also had their share. The Lord declared great is thy faith, be it done unto you as you have believed. (Matt 15:26-28)

In Isaiah 1:18, the Lord calls on us to come reason together with Him. This means reasoning in a positive way along the scriptural revelations. You could think this way, since scripture says Jesus is always present with you and He does not change, (Heb 13:8) then he will do as he did back in Bible days. Talk to Him with a consciousness of His presence and almighty power.

Now to help your faith again, just consider this vast universe, The Bible says the whole universe is held in place by the word of His power (Heb 1:3). If this same word tells you, he protects you totally from destruction, then you are perfectly protected. When this same word tells you, he has taken away all your diseases, then indeed, you can totally rest assured that it is settled. The word that holds up the sun says to you that God is forever with you and is holding you in His hands. From now always sleep like a baby and fear no unexpecting trouble.

Let the testimonies of others help your faith also. If God does a miracle for one then you are the next in line. Start thanking Him. Rom 10:12 KJV “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.”

CONFESSION

Thank you, Lord, for your word and proper scriptural reasoning. You are always with me. I have no fears, I have no wants, I am well guided and my life is full of excitement. Hallelujah

LIVING UNDER AUTHORITY

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:9 KJV “For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.”

The centurion analysed his principle for believing by making the following statement, I am a man under authority, and I say to this go and he goes and to another come and he comes. He implied that, if he could do so, then Jesus who had all authority could just command from where he was and his servant would be free from that bondage. He said I have authority because I am a man under authority. Living a life of order and recognizing authority is very important to God. You cannot exercise God’s authority without first submitting to His authority. James 4:7 KJV” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” According to the scriptures we are always ready to punish every disobedience when our obedience is complete. (2nd Corinth 10:6) This verse simply means we have enough right to command devils for them to obey us when we are rightly obedient to God. You would not be successful against devils when you are living in sin.

Another aspect of submission that we have to exercise is towards persons that God has established over us, who must be duly honoured. 1Peter 2:13 KJV” Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;” One such ordinance is the house of God.  Heb 13:17 KJV” Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” Because of some reproachable acts of certain Pastors and men of God, many children of God do not give any honour to their Pastors. The scripture says obey and submit to them. The scriptures also talk about how to treat the Pastors or leaders that rule well. That is those that set very good standards for us to emulate. 1Timothy 5:17 KJV” Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.”  This refers to those that rule well. They deserve great honour and submission.

IF we would do this we would definitely partake of the grace upon their lives. Gehazi did not honour Elisha and so, he partook of the leprosy of Naaman. 2 Kings 5:27. Elisha honoured Elijah, and so he partook of Elijah’s grace and manifested the anointing that functioned in his life. 2 kings 2:14. Judas also did not submit to the teachings of Jesus. He rather wanted to take advantage of Him, by betraying Him. He ended up as a catastrophe. He killed himself. Peter and the rest who submitted themselves to the authority of their Lord and pastor Jesus, also partook of His grace and so blessed their world so much (Acts 5:15-16).  We are also admonished in 1 Thessalonians 5:13 as follows.  ” And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.” Once again, we are called upon to esteem these ministers of the word very highly in love.

CONFESSION

I recognize those who have the rule over me. I esteem them very highly in love. As I simply submit to their leadership I function in God’s order and partake of the grace on them. My life is blessed because the blessings from their lips greatly impacts on my life.

SACRIFICE: A DIVINE PROCTOCOL TO PROVOKE HEAVEN’S ATTENTION

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:6 KJV” And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.”

The SCRIPTURE above speaks of a Roman centurion whose servant was paralysed. He called on Jesus to come and heal his servant. The account of Luke reveals certain aspect of the story, that Matthew did not mention. In Luke’s account the centurion had built a synagogue for the Jews. (Luke 7:1-11) It was the Jewish leaders who he consulted to call on the master to attend to him. When the Lord heard about the man’s generosity and sacrifice for the people of God, He said He would come and heal his servant. The Lord had remarked that the first part of His earthly ministry was to the lost sheep of Israel. Mat 15:24 KJV” But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Why didn’t the Lord refuse to go to this Roman Centurion? The centurion’s love for the Jews, expressed by his great sacrifice he made, in building the synagogue for the people of God. In the supernatural realm, sacrifice remains one of the fastest protocols to access God’s audience.

In 2 kings 3 :3&4, the Bible said king Solomon loved the Lord. He demonstrated this love by sacrificing one thousand burnt offerings to the Lord. The Bible said God came to King Solomon in a night dream and asked Solomon to name   whatever he would want God to do for him. This is like God signing a blank cheque for a person to write any amount on it. Throughout the scriptures sacrifices of various persons have always attracted God’s favourable response. In a figurative sense Jesus’ own words meant, he should not have accepted to go to the Roman Centurion but, because of the principle of sacrifice He accepted to go and heal his dying servant

Dear child of God, what kind of service are you rendering to the Lord. Is it an ordinary service or a sacrificial one? The story of Cain and his brother Abel explains this principle quite vividly. (Genesis 4:3-7) Cain brought an ordinary offering unto the Lord while Abel chose the first and the best of his flock. The scriptures said God had respect unto Abel’s sacrifice, but rejected Cain ‘s. The principle underlying this response from God, is actually a response to one’ s love for Him. The greatest commandment is to love the Lord with everything of your being. It is not just a desire for favour, but a sincere love for God that moves you to make grave sacrifices to the furtherance of his Kingdom. Please note that you can give sacrificially without love, but you can’t love without giving sacrificially

CONFESSION

I love the Lord with all my heart, my soul and my strength. All that I have is His. I therefore give sacrificially to Him, whenever He ask me. He likewise attends to me whenever I need Him.

And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

JESUS WANTS YOU WELL

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:3 KJV “And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”

(Please read Matt 8:1-4)

In the above story a leper approached the Lord Jesus and requested healing. In his request he stated that if Jesus was willing, he could make him whole. The Lord quickly corrected him and said, I am willing, be thou made clean. He was healed instantly. This is a very important lesson for all of us. Many people are still in doubt whether it is the will of God to heal them of their ailments. Jesus Christ is the revelation of the will of God. He did what the father would have done.

John 5:30 KJV “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” The Lord Jesus always did the will of the Father.

The Lord Jesus consistently proved that he was never willing to let those who came to him for healing, go back without healing them. Please read Matt 12:10-13. In this passage, the Pharisees came to Jesus and asked should he heal on the sabbath day.? The Lord answered that, which of them would not save his sheep that falls into a pit on the sabbath day? He then asked, is not a man more important than a sheep? He went ahead and healed him. A similar event occurred in Luke 13:13-18, about a woman who had been bound by a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years.  After healing her, they complained that, those who are sick should not come for healing on the sabbath day. The following is the Lord’s remarks Luke 13:15 KJV The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? He then added that, this is a daughter of Abraham, who Satan has bound for eighteen years ought not her to be healed on the sabbath day? Jesus demonstrated his hatred for sicknesses and subsequently his willingness to heal those who are sick.

There were instances that some individuals did not announce their presence and request for healing, yet they received their healing. (Mark 5:25-34) The healing power of God is always available, and anyone who would reach out in faith would be made whole. The only condition is for you to trust the word with all your heart. In Mark 9, the man who brought his son to the disciples to heal him, said to Jesus, after His disciples failed, if you can, you can heal my son. The Lord remarked in Mark 9:23, KJV” Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”. Your healing has been provided and lying within the reach of your faith. Stop waiting for something to happen, go to his word and listen to what He says. Isaiah 53:1 KJV” Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed”? The arm of God is the power of God which is always revealed to the one who believes His report.

CONFESSION

Thank you, Father, for your healing grace. Thanks for our Lord Jesus who took away all my sicknesses and diseases in His own body. I believe His report. Thank you, Lord, I receive my healing today in the name of my Lord Jesus.

TWO FOUNDATIONS

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 7:24 ISV “Therefore, everyone who listens to these messages of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on a rock”.

The strength and ability of any structure to withstand adverse conditions, depends on its foundation. Problems, trouble will come to all. Job 14:1 KJV” Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” If this is the general experiences of men then how much should we be prepared for life.? Our passage of study (Matt 7:24-27) shows us that by virtue of our response to the teaching of Jesus, one can either be tough to overcome the challenges of life, or be overpowered by the difficulties that may arise. The Lord says those who hear His word and do it are like the man who builds his house on a rock. The problems of life, may beat on it yet it keeps standing strongly.

The Lord also said there is another type of foundation that is built on the sand. These are those who hear the word and refuse to do what the word says. The challenges of life come against him and his whole life is shattered. There are some people who lose their faith outright because of challenges of life. Life has become very miserable to many because they have no foundation. Psalms 11:3 KJV” If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? “YOUR proper foundation is doing what the word says. If you fail to do what God’s word says you have no foundation, and as a result failure and defeat are inevitable for you. There are a whole lot of people who have passed through the fires and waters of life, yet their faith remains as strong as ever. Their joy remains unshaken, and are simply unconquerable. These ones are those who took pains to act on God’s word.

LIFE should not lash at you. Life is not supposed to be mysterious to you. The tools for having a successful victorious life is the word of God. 2Timothy 3:16 KJV “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” The following verse says, the word was given so that the man of God, or child of God would be perfect thoroughly furnished unto every good work. It is knowing the word and doing it that makes you blessed. Dear brother or sister, the solution to every challenge in life is doing what the word says about that particular thing. (James 1:24)

CONFESSION

I have a sure foundation, because I am a doer of the word. Life is never mysterious to me. As a doer of the word, I have the ability, to go through every wall of challenge and every barrier of limitation. I conquer all in Jesus’ name.

James 1:22-25″ But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed”.

WHY SOME MIRACLE WORKERS WOULD BE REJECTED

KEY SCRIPTURE: Mat 7:22 ISV” Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name, drove out demons in your name, and performed many miracles in your name, didn’t we?’”

The Lord said in our key scripture that on the day of judgment some who would be rejected would say, Lord we cast out devils in your name, we healed the sick in your name. The Lord said He would say to such people that I never knew you, you workers of iniquity, get away from me. Why would miracle workers be rejected? It is one thing being used by the Spirit of God to work miracles, and it is another living in submission to the word of God. Working miracles does not mean God approves of the lifestyle of that individual. There are some individuals who function with contrary spirits to perform miracles. In Acts 16:16-18, apostle Paul and Silas were met by a girl who said these are the true servants of God who tell you the truth. The spirit was telling the truth but, it was a contrary spirit. There are such men and women who do miraculous feats, but not by the spirit of God. Their fruits are the main ways you can know, or by discernments

In Numbers 20:8-12, there was a need of water by the Israelites and God told Moses to speak to the rock to give out water. Moses out of anger hit the rock twice. Water gushed out in abundance, yet God was not pleased. Why did the water flow? It gushed out to satisfy the thirst of the people. Moses could not get to the promised land because of it. There was a miracle yet God was not pleased with Him. This event exactly describes the many, the Bible says they would say to the Lord, we did that miracle in your name. God works miracles on many occasions because of the cry of His children. The obedience of the man to the word of God is that which makes him acceptable with God or rejected by Him

HOW come that God would say He does not know these miracle workers. Their lives are far from what the Bible calls living   in submission to God and His word. Dear child of God do not be carried away with the supernatural occurrences but your personal relationship to the Lord.

CONFESSION

Thank you, heavenly Father, for your love for me. My life is focused on living to please the Lord. God works miracles through me, yet it is all to His glory.

GOD WANTS DOERS OF THE WORD AND NOT MOUTH WORSHIPPERS

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 7:21 KJV “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

God is not interested in mouth worshipers only, but rather doers of the word of God. James 1:22 KJV “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Those who hear the word and do not do it are deceiving themselves. There is a day of reckoning, or day of judgment and rewards.  Once, the Lord was teaching a gathering, and His mother and brothers came around looking for Him. He said the following to His audience, Mark 3:35 KJV” For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” If a man gives Him lip worship and does not do what the word says he is not his brother, sister or relation of any kind. Dear reader, can Jesus call you His brother or sister?

These days in Ghana, the level of Christian activities is so much. We find preaching on the airwaves, preaching by the street corners and Christian music being aired from sun to dust. Many people have assumed they are followers of Christ because they listen to these programs, yet the level of crime, and corruption is rather alarming. It is at times shocking to hear of the practices of some of the groups in the name of worshiping Jesus. A visit to our government institutions and you will find a lot of church going people in these places, yet the level of corruption is rather alarming. One cannot pick His cheque for the payment of a contract executed without giving out some money(bribe) to these officials. In most of the cases if the money(bribe) does not come first, that pay cheque would also not be signed. According to the Lord Jesus, if you are living this way, can you call yourself as a brother, sister or a relation of Jesus?

HOW does one caught in these quagmire or any other erroneous living free himself? You must first accept that your ways are not pleasing to the Lord. Ask the Lord for His forgiveness. Then repent of that way of living. If you choose to do the word, you become a doer of the word. Everyone of us must be very sincere with ourselves and consider if there are any actions or ways that we have to repent from. Do not deceive yourself only doers of the word would be acceptable before the Lord on that final day of judgment. Take action now.

CONFESSION

Dear Heavenly Father I submit my life to the authority of your word and act in accordance with what your word says. I refuse to pay lip service and rather a doer of the word. Thank you, Lord.

BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHET

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 7:15 KJV, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

One sign that shall characterize the end of time, is the prevalence of false prophets. Who is a false prophet? A false prophet is one who says what God has not said. Well, this is not the only criterion for one being false, the Bible reveals certain more qualities that would make one a false prophet. The Lord said a false prophet is known by the fruit he bears. His actions are at variant with the word of God. The fundamental fact about e real false prophets is that he does not have any relationship with Jesus. Mat 7:18 KJV” A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” The Lord has said it right, a bad man cannot produce good fruits. The main issue is not about a mistake he made when he prophesied but whether Jesus is indeed Lord of his life.88

The main issue about a man who has not really got any relationship with Jesus, is his priorities about life. The focus about such a man is not about souls, it is not about bringing people into heaven, but his desire is how well men think of him. He thinks more about the number of cars he should have. Phi 3:18 KJV” (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:  Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” These ministers mind earthly things. A minister who cannot forgive is opening a door for demons to easily enter his life. A false minister will use the pulpit to settle scores with people he or she thinks he has a problem with.

There are some false prophets who   there seem to be nothing wrong with them. The word is, there seem to be nothing wrong, yet Jesus said if the person is false, it will be shown in the fruits he bears. The real error seen in such people is about their love for Jesus. Love for Jesus means putting Him first. A false prophet will definitely project other things other the Lord Jesus and His word.

Dear child of God these teachings are supposed to shield you against falsehood. Don’t focus your attention on finding faults where there is no fault. If there is something wrong about a man of God, which is not visible to the natural eye the Holy Spirit would expose it if it is that necessary, but don’t go around looking for faults if there is non

CONFESSION

Father I pray that your Spirit would help anyone living in falsehood to  be set free from the deceptions of the enemy. Open our understanding to see those who have given themselves to the devil to deceive many and anyone they come across.
