KEY SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 11:6 KJV” But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”.

GOD cannot be known by reason, but by believing in His revelation of Himself.

1 Corinth 1:21 KJV” For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe”. Anyone who would be used greatly to glorify his name must believe in Him. Many people claim they believe God but, they really don’t. Just consider the level of fear that Covid 19 has brought to many. Even many who claim to know and believe in God have been shaken to their roots.

To believe is a verb and its noun is faith. The Bible says by believing God or by faith, the elders obtained a good report (Heb 11:3). One can only be justified or declared righteous before God by believing Him. To believe in God, is to accept with your heart what He says and reject whatever any contrary physical evidence may prove. It sounds very simple yet anyone who would be used mightily by the Lord, must be a believer in Him. God chooses the weak things of this world to confound the wise. To believe means to commit your entire being unreservedly to Him. On many occasions servants of God have to act ‘foolishly’ In human terms to honor God.

Let’s take this illustration to show how acting in faith in God, can sound foolish to the natural mind. A brother called me via my mobile phone. He said there were some crows on his roof. Each time he goes out of his room these birds come around him in such a way that makes a great nuisance to him.

He called and asked ‘what must I do to stop them’. Somehow, I asked him to put his phone on loud speaker, and I would speak to these creatures. He also didn’t question my instruction. I rebuked them and placed God’s judgement on them. He called back after a few minutes and said, after the prayer, one of the crows fell from the ceiling to the ground and died. The other three could not fly away, so he threw a stone at one and it also fell and died. The rest left later never to return again. There was no wisdom in speaking to crows, yet faith instructs one to do such things.

I believe absolutely in God and the whole counsel of His word.

I refuse to live by my senses, but to trust Him with my whole being. He continually manifests His power to save and bless or deliver each time I act in faith.

Hebrews 10:38 “KJV Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Acts 13:22 KJV “And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will”.

Man has always been God’s means of fulfilling His purposes on the earth. All He needs from men is to yield their whole being to Him, and He would do mighty works with them. As He found David, God searches for a man with a right heart to use. 2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV” For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him……”   Would you have the right heart towards Him. In these last days, Satan has vomited every kind of unclean thing, raising evil men to say and do very abominable things. God needs men and women who would likewise stand totally for Him, to reveal His power, love and Glory through them. God would not do anything on the earth without the agency of a man.

In the light of this, God always seeks for a man who will serve His purposes on the earth. When king Saul rebelled against God, He had to find a substitute for Saul who would lead His people the Israelites. He said I have found David, the Son of Jesse, a man after my heart. He added, who shall fulfill all my will. When the heart of men was filled with sin continually God found Noah who did his will, to preserve a people who did not defile themselves with the wickedness and evil ways of the human generation in that era.

God found Abram who later became Abraham. He believed God enough to leave, his country, kindred and his father’s house. Through Abraham God raised a new nation, and the world was saved by his seed. (Gal 3:16) The need for God’s ways and acts to be revealed is in more demand in our time than ever. Would God find in you a man after his heart? Would he find a friend in you? God wants a man who will do his will. The number of Christians in our generation are more than it has ever existed in any generation, yet there are only a few men God is using to impact men in a very mighty way. God wants to have multitudes doing his works in a bigger way.  (John 14:12)

The Lord’s testimony of himself in our key scripture is very remarkable. He says the devil comes, but he has nothing in Him.

The Lord is saying there is no darkness whatsoever in Him. Satan’s ability to destroy the righteous never lies in his brut power or might, but in his ability to deceive and infuse some amount of darkness into a man. Remember, a little leaven leavens the whole lump. The devil and his demons are highly crafty liars. The darkness is his ability control or to deceive a child of God in one way or another. The Lord Jesus said, Matthew 6:23 KJV “But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

The ‘eye’ in the above verse is one’s state of mind, outlook about life or motive for doing things. When evil has any grounds in you, it would dominate your actions. An evil eye can be unbelieving, hatred, envy, fear, lust or any wrong act that lies calmly in the desire of an individual. If there is such a desire, thought or longing in the heart of a child of God, the Lord says, his whole being would be full of darkness. Darkness is the abode of the enemy. It is also the strength of the demons. Demons will keep harassing you if you have any grounds for them.

To keep devils from having doorways into you, make up your mind to stay clear out of all wrong ways. Take away every wrong desire and wrong thought. Your desires direct you. The dominating thoughts of your mind is who you are. Make sure your thoughts and desires are always devoid of Satan’s impact and influence or unscriptural ways.

If you can do this, then you would also boldly say with the Lord, the prince of this world comes, but he has nothing in ME.

 Please get this point of wisdom, the simplest but the worst darkness that Satan can succeed in introducing into a believer is UNBELIEVE.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Judges 6:25 NET” That night the LORD said to him, “Take the bull from your father’s herd, as well as a second bull, one that is seven years old. Pull down your father’s Baal altar and cut down the nearby Asherah pole”.

I am speaking further on this topic, because I have encountered many well-meaning Christians whose lives have been greatly jeopardized by these family altars. They must be free. I pray these truths help all. What is an altar? An altar is a place where a man or men cut a covenant with a deity by offering sacrifices.     The covenant is renewed by offering sacrifices. These demons will attack anyone in that family who would not serve them. Christians normally become the target. The Christian must not allow them to assault him or her. This is achieved by understanding scriptural provisions and applying them.

The process of salvation of every Christian ‘exempts’ him from such demonic activities. The Lord Jesus gave His life on the cross to save us. He became the sacrificial object on the altar that brought salvation to us. The truth is, we all were on the cross with him. Any Christian who has gone through this experience, should not have anything to do with any other god or demon. Gal 2:20 KJV “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me”. Maintain a consciousness of Jesus life as your very life.

 Romans 12:1, instructs us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto God. Remember every covenant is executed by a sacrifice. By that act of offering your body to God in holiness, makes you God’s sacrificial object, and it leaves no ground for any devil. The next step is to renew your mind by the scriptures. This also transforms you, to become what God’s word says. The Bible says with this you show or prove God’s perfect will in your life. In these ways, your resistance of any onslaught against you becomes very effective. Demons cannot dominate a sacrifice on God’s altar .

CONFESSION

I have offered my life unto God in holiness. I am God’s sacrificial object and no devil has power over me. I resist every demonic onslaught against my life. Thank you, Lord Jesus.

The background story from our key scripture is about Gideon. God had called him to deliver the Israelites from the Midianites. The only thing that could limit his success was his family idol. So long as that idol remained untouched in his family and home, God in all His power and authority cannot do much with him. The presence of the idol would grossly interfere with his victories. God instructed him to go and pull down the altar of the family idol and raise a new one, offering a sacrifice unto the Lord. This was Gideon’s way of breaking free from the family idol. As a servant of God and a man who came from a background of idol worship, I have come to know that, these things interfere with the successes of people if not stopped. Their ability to do this does not come from their strength, but basically because of the covenant that exists between them and the family.

God our Father is the judge of all. Psalms 75:7 KJV ” But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.” He is the ultimate authority, allowing and disallowing what happens on the earth. Whether He allows or disallows depends how one presents his or her case legally(scripturally)(Matt 18:18) upon which you can break the power of that idol over the family. All these must be done in faith. The bible is full of scriptures that reveal our freedom from these spirits.

3. Colossians 1:13 KJV” Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”:

Go through each scripture, declaring it to the Lord. Announce to the devil that it is purely illegal for him to perpetuate any of his activities in your life and family. The scripture says resist him steadfastly. You may have to keep praying and declaring these scriptures till you sense victory. Do not pray from a mindset of defeat, but a mindset of victory.

PRAYER

I am in Christ; therefore, I am a new creation all old things have passed away, Behold all things have become new. I break every power of every family idol over my life, for I have no relationship with you. I refuse to be manipulated by any force of darkness.

John 3:8 KJV” The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 11:22 ISV” But when a stronger man than he attacks and defeats him, the stronger man strips off that man’s armor in which he trusted and then divides his plunder”.

The Lord taught that when a strong man, fully armed guards his goods or mansion, his property is safe. What is the strength of that strong man? His armour is what gives him the strength to keep his goods. To overpower him, you must take his armour from him. When it comes to deliverance, the strength of the enemy, on many occasions it is the legal grounds they claim to have. That is what gives them their authority. Proverbs 26:2 ISV “Like a fluttering sparrow   or a swallow in flight, a curse without cause will not alight”. A curse without a cause should not stand. To properly deal with curses, you must take away the cause.

I will give an illustration to explain this point.  An elderly woman brought her daughter who had two children, aged between one and three. The daughter was very sick. I asked what the issue was. The mother said the daughter’s husband left her for another woman, but came back to the daughter after sometime. This other woman put a curse on the man and his wife. She claimed the curse had killed the man, whiles the wife was not well. For over three weeks, she had not been able to visit the toilet or urinate. I asked the Holy Spirit for his instruction about handling the case. He asked me to challenge the authority by which the demon was attacking her.

I asked this lady to keep quiet, and I would ask the spirit causing the condition a question. I asked, you that spirit attacking this lady, what is your legal grounds for attacking her? A voice responded from this lady, ‘we came to kill, we came to kill, ‘ She screamed and fell from her chair wriggling on the flour. That demon had no legal grounds, but were just being opportunistic. I commanded it to leave and it left. This lady for the first time in three weeks was able to urinate. By the next morning she could ease herself. All these was led and done by the Holy Spirit who instructed on how to handle the situation.

PRAYER.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for giving up yourself to deliver me from this present evil world. The blood of my Lord Jesus has blotted out every handwriting or ordinance that was against me, and nailed it to the cross. No devil has any legal grounds to assault me. I declare my liberty today in Jesus name.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 11:24 KJV “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out”.

The Lord continued to teach his audience on deliverance. This time he explains a very important aspect of deliverance to the people. He said when a demon is cast out, it leaves and roams around for a new habitation. If it does not find a new host, it would come back to see, if its former house is occupied. If it is unoccupied then, he goes for seven worse demons to fill up its host. This verse reveals two levels of deliverance. The first level is casting away the spirit behind the challenges of that individual. The second level is a transformation as a result of renewal of mind.

The first level of deliverance as the Lord said is when the spirit behind the condition is cast out. This is what we normally experience. In the second level the individual must be taught the word of God such that there would not be any spiritual void for the demon to come back. Many people have been receiving cycles of deliverance, which seem not to end. The challenge is that they are not taught the word, that would stop the enemy the next time he may want to come back. The scripture says, be ye. transformed by the renewing of your mind (Rom 12:2). In the Ministry of Jesus no one was delivered twice. People like, Mary Magdalene, the mad man of Gadarene and even Saul who became Paul, after their deliverance, did not need to be delivered again. They all continued in the Lord’s teaching.

The last level of deliverance is to take practical steps to consolidate your deliverance. You must be disciplined to do what the word says. If you have been delivered from smoking, you must stop meeting with friends who smoke. If you have been delivered from porn materials, delete them immediately from your phone. If you have such magazines of such things, quickly burn them. Take practical and pragmatic steps to consolidate your deliverance. Give attention to the word of God and prayer. Make it your habit to be in church services always.

Romans 6:16 BBE” Are you not conscious that you are the servants of him to whom you give yourselves to do his desire? if to sin, the end being death, or if to do the desire of God, the end being righteousness”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 11:21 KJV” When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils”.

The Lord Jesus in the course of teaching the people about deliverance and demons, made certain statements about the devil that needs to be critically looked at. The Lord said if a strong man armed keeps his palace, his goods are at piece. Who is this strong man? This is the agent of darkness that is ruling over a person, family or a people. He has his armour as a tool. This tool is what gives the strong man the ability to rule his palace. What is this armour or tools? The covenant that exists between the demon and that family is one of the armour. The other armour are acts of disobedience done by the fathers of the family which he holds as legal grounds to assault them. Another armour could also be one’s ignorance about the truth.

The Lord added that, this devil or strong man with his armour in place has his goods at peace. The goods are the individuals that he has held in captivity. The Lord added when a stronger man comes over, he would conquer him.  This stronger man is not affected anyway by the arms that the devil or strong man may be holding. In this context the stronger man can be an individual who God has graced to dislodge this devil or strong man that has held those people captives.  The man who has been held in bondage can also become a stronger man, by his ability to overthrow the covenant existing between the devil and that particular family. He also has to deal with the acts of disobedience on his part or on the part of his family. If there are areas of ignorance, he must acquire it.

The stronger man, could be a man of God anointed to set others free from all kinds of satanic bondages.  In cases of dealing with idols in the family or family altars yourself, you have to receive a renewal of strength to properly overthrow these altars that stand as a strong man, causing havoc to the family.

Isa 40:31 KJV “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”. According to this scripture our strength is renewed as we wait. This calls for times of prayer, and in some cases with fasting.  Pray to deal with these evil agents assailing your life or family. In all these matters allow the Holy Spirit to instruct you on the best way to approach these issues.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 11:18 KJV “If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.

The Lord’s answer to the Jews in the earlier statements reveals some very important truths about the devil. It reveals Satan has a united kingdom. Satan ‘s organization is well knitted together This teaches that every Christian dealing against the devil must live a holistic life for God. To successfully deal with the devil you must not be accommodating the devil in another aspect of his ways. Do not say you are casting out devils, yet on the flip side you are unforgiving, or allowing the flesh to dictate your actions in another sphere of life. The Lord said Satan’s kingdom is one. This means when a Christian gives any grounds to the enemy, he cannot be victorious in another aspect of dealing with the devil.

 Satan power by which his kingdom functions is darkness. This implies any child of God with a heart submitted to the master can always overpower the devil or cast them out of people, things, and places. As the Lord said, the prince of this world comes, but he has nothing in Him (John 14:30). John 8:12 reads “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”.

HOW can one effectively cast out demons? You have to understand the import of Jesus statement in John 8:12. The man who follows the Lord, that is he who walks by the word of God shall not walk in darkness. Secondly you must understand you are fully light, and therefore you have absolute authority and power over the devil and his demons who are darkness. Anytime you have to deal with any demonic condition, like someone oppressed by the devil, a person who is sick or even your very experience, you must know you are far superior to the enemy. Command the devil with that perception of superiority and they would submit.

CONFESSION.

Heavenly Father thank you for saving my soul. I live by the word of God. The word is light, while Satan and his angels are all darkness. By my light I overpower them.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 11:15 KJV” But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils”.

The comments of the Jews in our key scripture was made after the Lord Jesus had healed the dumb man, by casting away the dumb spirit from him. What should have been the normal reaction of a people to the instant healing of one who could not speak?  It should have been jubilation and excitement. In this case, they rather accused Jesus of casting out demons with the prince of devils, Beelzebub. Beelzebub is another name for Satan. It also means the king of the flies. This accusation was not the end of their negative remarks, but they also tempted Him by demanding a sign from heaven.

What was really happening here? Please note, anytime you do anything that affects the devil, he would retaliate. In this instant the enemy was using a diversionary strategy. Focus is one big ingredient for ultimate success in various life endeavors. Satan would do everything to divert those who are successfully dealing with him. During moments of casting away devils, one needs to be very sensitive to the leading of the Spirit, to be able to successfully deal with the demons. A demon may attempt to frighten you, scream in away as if, the person is dying or engages you in a useless dialogue.

When praying to overthrow family altars, be ready for all kinds of destructions, to make you stop your consistency in prayer. In some cases, these devils will raise oppositions or difficulties that may cause you to give up. Please victory is always yours. Never give up your fire. You must keep praying till total victory is obtained. Satan or his demons never have the last word. It is what your faith can determine. Remember, Jesus said Lazarus’ sickness was not unto death, yet he died (John 11). That state would have caused many people to throw in the towel. Jesus knew it was not up to Satan to decide, but the victory laid in His hands. It depended on His ability to make His faith function. If you give attention to the devil, he would give you direction.

I am not ignorant of the devices of the enemy. The word of God and pleasing God is my focus. Nothing can divert or manipulate me from seeking victory over the enemy. He is eternally defeated and through Christ I am eternally victorious.
