WHAT IS YOUR NAME?

KEY SCRIPTURE: Genesis 32:27 KJV” And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob”.

The story behind our key scripture is, Jacob was afraid to meet his embittered brother Esau. He wrestled with an angel for the whole night, after which he asked the angel to bless him. The angel rather asked of his name? Names normally portray the character of people. I wish to ask you, what is your name? It does not matter your title, position, office or what you do. You may be struggling with a bad behavior, habit or what men would call some weakness of some kind. Does the Lord agree that His children exhibit weakness and sinful behaviours? What does he say? Matthew 5:48 KJV “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect”.

HOW can any man fulfill this instruction from the Lord? Dear child of God please get this point clear; the Lord would not ask us to do what we can’t do, or He would not ask us to do what He has not made provision for its achievement. Our Lord Jesus through His death has done a perfect work that qualifies us for a very victorious and excellent life.(Col 1:12, 2nd Peter 1:3) Please note also that our Lord Jesus through His death, destroyed, the power of sin in our lives and overpowered Satan and his cohorts for us.

(Colossians 2:11-15).

As a woman takes the name of the man through a wedding ceremony, everyone baptized into Christ have taken on the name of Christ, and every victory of Jesus is theirs (Galatians 3:27). You no longer answer to that old name of sinfulness and weakness. You have the perfections of Christ as yours, and you live with that awareness. 2nd Corinth 5:17 KJV ” Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”. You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit (Romans 8:9). Accept your new status, that is of Christ and is now called Christ and live with that awareness. You don’t have any weakness, sinfulness, lust anymore in your new nature. You rather help those who are weak to leave the flesh realm to also live out the life of Christ.

CONFESSION.

I am baptized into Christ and so I have put on Christ. I am one with Him, in His holiness, one with Him in his love for all men, one with Him in His supernatural power to cast out devils. I am forever victorious with Jesus.

FURTHER STUDIES

Romans 8:9 KJV” But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his”.

Galatians 3:27 KJV” For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ”.

BE MODERATE TO ALL

KEY SCRIPTURE: Philippians 4:5 KJV” Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand”.

I watched a video in which an evangelist preaching at a market, insulted a man who offended him. I asked, why should a preacher of the gospel be so vulgar, even at the point of delivering the word of God? Many of us Christians are not patient with one another at various points.  This occurs mostly in our homes. It is also, at times worse on the road when Christians motorists can’t be patient with other motorists. You would be surprised to find a Christian raining insults on another motorist because he made a mistake. Get to some hospitals, and a Christian nurse may mishandle a helpless patient.

Our key scripture says, be moderate with all men, for the Lord is at hand. The spirit of the Christian is a moderate and tender spirit: that is our nature. Take some moments to consider the nature of the spirit who has taken over our being. (Galatians 5:22_23) The problem of most of us is that, we have not become conscious of our true personality. Dear child of God, you ceased to be Mr. Y, or Madam B, from the day you gave your life to Christ. You became Christ Mr. B, or Christ Madam Y. Living that sweet, beautiful life of Christ is not strange to us. That is who we are. Christ has taken an abode in us.

Please, just consider what the Holy Spirit admonishes us in Ephesians 4:24 KJV “And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”. There is a new man of love, a new man in us who has the ability to be patient. It is his nature to be considerate with all persons. He is very gentle and patient. Many homes of Christians are unnecessarily burning up. This ought not be so. Allow the new man, the Christ in you to lead and control affairs of your life, and your home and others you relate with will glorify God for your sake. The Lord is at hand.

CONFESSION

It is Christ alive in me. I am kind, gentle, considerate, sincere and loving. I bring joy and peace wherever I go because the Spirit of Christ is the one that controls me. I have control over my temper and my words.

Colossians 3:12-14 KJV Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long suffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

NO MORE INADEQUACY

KEY SCRIPTURE:2Corinth 3:5 KJV” Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God”;

When Peter and John healed the cripple who sat at the beautiful gate, Peter said the following to the people:” And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” Acts 3:12. Apostle Peter declared that it was not their holiness or power but faith in the name of Jesus.

AS Christians it is neither our human strengths or weakness that matters before the Lord. It is purely our reliance on the perfections of our Lord Jesus Christ to execute our roles and duties. He is our sufficiency. He is our righteousness. We stand boldly before devils and Satan not in our name but in His name. You must never allow any shortcoming in your life to rob you of exercising your rights as a Christian. Whenever you believe the word of God to act on it, you are justified. (Rom 5:1, Rom 10:9) This means God declares you are not guilty, or just as if you have never sin before. Never feel inadequate to engage in any task for the Lord. We have inherited His perfection.

Colossians 1:22 says the following about us

” In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight”: The Lord through His death presents us before the father as holy, unblameable, and unreproveable. Our part in this is to believe that, that is what we are. In heaven the Lord represents us before the father, whiles on earth, we stand in His name. The devils do not see Mr. A or B but they see Jesus Christ. This makes nothing too difficult for us to overcome. All we need to know and believe is that we are always fully qualified to act in His name. The father would likewise honor our stands to His glory. There is no more any inadequacy on our part.

CONFESSION

Praise the Lord, in Christ I have no more inadequacy. I am righteous with His righteousness, I am powerful with His almighty power, I am perfect with His perfection. I dominate with His dominion. Satan and demons are no more a threat or hindrance to me in any way because of Jesus. Hallelujah!

BLESSED WITH ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS

KEY SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 1:3 KJV “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

What is a blessing? A blessing are words of goodwill spoken over an individual, or a group of people which carries a supernatural ability to empower the individual or persons to excel or prosper.

Every child of God according to our key scripture has been blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places. Please note this: the scripture said all blessings, and it means all leaving none.  A blessing brings to you a supernatural being that helps you to excel.

In life the natural is ruled by the spiritual. Blessings generally empower an individual to excel in life or to prosper. Right throughout the Bible, people blessed by the Lord did outstanding feats in their lifetime. Examples include Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph. Just consider the confessions of Laban about Jacob. Genesis 30:27 KJV “And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake”. Everything about the blessed man remains blessed.

What brings forth a manifestation of God’s blessings in an individual’s life.

1.Be conscious of God’s blessings on your life.

2.The blessings of God functions when the individual lives to honor God. E.g Joseph, David

3.Expect to increase in all that you do.

4 Declare always that you are blessed and no curses can work in your life.

5.Thank God that you are blessed and would always be a blessing to others.

CONFESSION

Thank you, heavenly father for blessing me with all spiritual blessings. I increase in all I do. People who relate with me are blessed. No curse can function in my life because I am blessed with all blessings. .

Numbers 23:23 KJV “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought” !

A JOYFUL HEART. 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: Philippians 4:4 KJV” Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again, I say, Rejoice”.

A JOYFUL heart gives strength to the body. (Nehemiah 8:10b) The blessings of salvation are taken possession of, by joy. (Isaiah 12:3) A JOYFUL heart is one of the fundamental states for the Holy Spirit to manifest and function freely to bring blessings to humanity. (Romans 14:17). Our key scripture instructs us to rejoice always in the Lord. The truth is there cannot be any true joy outside the Lord.

Please note the following things. In the Lord Jesus every promise of scripture is yes. (2nd Corinth 1:20) This means all promises to the Christian is fulfilled in Jesus. This understanding must stir in us great joy. It is no more our righteousness that delivers to us the fulfillment of these promises but purely on the righteousness of Jesus. In our Lord Jesus we have the authority of His name to demand the obedience of every devil or condition and they can’t do either wise but to submit to our demand. In actual fact, in Christ we have a limitless wealth of blessings that put us on top of every situation. (Eph 1:3)

The above provisions in Christ, are among the many reasons why your heart should be consistently joyful, no matter what the devil may be doing. Satan remains an eternally defeated enemy and we are eternally victorious.  We have inherited the victory of Jesus over the devil. Now note: that joy is a function of trust. Always remember the simple song

  ” Trust and obey,

for there is no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. “Amen.

CONFESSION

I rejoice always in the Lord. In Him I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places, I am also more than a conqueror. So long as my faith remains intact, all things are possible with me. May the name of the Lord be praised continually.

FURTHER STUDIES

Romans 14:17 KJV” For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”.

2 Corinth 1:20 KJV “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us”.

A JOYFUL HEART

KEY SCRIPTURE: James 1:2 KJV” My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations”;

Human nature can’t be naturally joyful when faced with distressing moments. The Bible according to our key scripture instructs us to count it all joy or be joyful when we encounter divers’ challenges. Christians are not mere humans, according to 1st Corinth 3:3AMP. Dear child of God, you are not a mere man, you have been made in the nature of our Lord Jesus. Eph 2:10 KJV “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”.

Joy is the character of love which is the fruit of the Spirit. The Christian would naturally manifest joy when he lives by revelation knowledge. This is living according to the word of God. Decide from now that you would not allow anything to put you down. Romans 8:28 declares that” and we know that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord……. ” Listen and adhere to the following admonishing of scripture Phi 4:4 KJV “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again, I say, Rejoice”.

The Holy Spirit instructs us to rejoice in the Lord always. Every instruction of scripture carries within it the ability to do it. The moment you whole heartedly accept what the Bible says, with a ready mind to do what it says, you receive from that moment a supernatural power to obey. Respond this way, and say, from this moment, I would always rejoice in the Lord, no matter what happens. I also receive the ability to rejoice always. Thank you, Lord Jesus.

CONFESSION

I rejoice always and under all circumstances. My lord is king and Lord above all things. In His name I am more than a conqueror. All things are possible with me because I believe. Nothing shall put me down, this is why I would never be put down but would forever be joyful to the glory of God”.

A LIFE OF VICTORY 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:6 KJV” For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”.

Our strength and victory as children of God depends on how firm we hold on to the word of God. The key scripture says those who live by their senses or according to how they feel, think or see things means death.  Death is failure and an inability to excel. The man who views life from the word of God’s point of view is a winner every time. A life of victory always, exalts the Lord Jesus above every wrong or negative condition that happens to you.

Stop talking about how bad the devil is treating you. Don’t be complaining about all the wrong things, the devils may be doing to keep you from making away in life. Such words glorify the devil and says God is ineffective to cause you to excel. Your faith cannot be stronger than what you say. Say that as a child of God you display the victories of your Heavenly Father. If your body is showing certain symptoms of some diseases, declare boldly that Jesus Himself took away your infirmities and bore your diseases. Never allow the experience of any one, whether a man of God or what, to stop you from trusting God. It is your faith that gives you the victory all the time. Faith in God would always be tried, but maintain your grounds, you will come out as the Victor.

We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. (2nd Corinth 5:21) Righteousness is the ability to stand in God’s presence without any sense of guilt or limitation of any form. Put away the sin consciousness, knowing you have received the very righteousness of God. Stand before the sick with total boldness and courage. Command the devil to lose his hold over his victim. Give no place to any thoughts of inadequacy. Know you are accepted and have been made fully qualified to do, possess or exercise the authority over Satan.

CONFESSION

The Lord Jesus is my victory. I am born from above and I’m above all. I am the righteousness of God. I am bold in prayer and very bold before the enemy. I am filled with the love of God for all men. There is no bitterness in me.

A LIFE OF VICTORY

KEY SCRIPTURE:2Timothy 1:10 KJV “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel”:

I was once introduced to a lady who was having multiple complications of ailments. She called me on the phone and started describing her depressive state to me. As I listened to her, a holy anger rose within me and I rebuked the condition in Jesus name. Beloved, that was the end of her misery. I heard from her after a couple of months, and at this time she was happily married. Any child of God who has knowledge of our victory in Jesus can rebuke devils, and they would obey you. There is no achievement in Christianity. No cause for boasting. Everything we are or have is an inheritance. We have inherited victory in Christ Jesus. (Col 1:12)

JESUS has abolished death or the reign of death and has brought life and immortality to light. Men, before Jesus came to die for us, were under the dominion of darkness, meaning, we were alienated from God and His life. Now we are free from darkness and death (2nd Timothy 1:10). God Himself is our heritage. We live in victory. The Bible describes it as being complete in Him (Colossians 2:10).

We must understand that life is now reigning in us, and not death.  (Romans 5:17) This is our victorious life. Your victory is established by your strong affirmations of these truths. We are saved as we confess our faith in the victory of Jesus. (Romans 10:10) It is our affirmations of absolute victory over the devil that enforces our victory. Please feed your heart with God’s word. Say that, God lives in me and my faith in Him always overcomes the world. (1st John 4:4, 5:4) In Jesus I am superior to every devil.

CONFESSION

Thank you, my heavenly father for giving us your son Jesus Christ. In His name every knee bow. I have an inheritance in Jesus. This has made me superior to the devil.

A LIFE OF REST

KEY SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 4:10 KJV “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

In our previous study we said the Christian life is a life of rest. It is a life of trusting our Lord Jesus to express Himself through us. There are lot of Christians whose lives are full of unrest. Many are struggling to overcome one thing or another. Some come to their wits end, and so they ask, is it worth it at all? This is God ‘s answer, Hebrews 4:3 KJV ” For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, ……… “

The scripture says in Philippians 4:6 KJV “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God which passes all understanding, shall keep your mind and hearts”. How can one keep his cool when your world around you seems to be crumble? Dear brother or sister, the answer is in bringing the Lord into the equation. See yourself as crucified with Jesus, and it is Jesus presently alive in you. (Galatians 2:20) Allow Him to face the problem by declaring that He has overcome all these things. (John 16:33) You are one with Him. If he overcame then you have also overcome.

Keep declaring Jesus victory as your victory. Take your rest in His victory. Do not stop announcing that Jesus victory is your victory.  ‘ Declare that since Jesus overcame the world, you have likewise overcome’ . If it is a financial need declare that He provides all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19). Call on the Lord to release angels to bring you supplies according to Hebrews 1:14. Be assured that, your request has been answered.

PRAYER

Thank you, my Father, for your provisions in Christ. In Christ I am blessed with every spiritual blessing. The angels of God are dispatched for my service. I have all I need in Jesus name

UNDERSTANDING CHRISTIANITY

KEY SCRIPTURE :1 Peter 2:9. [“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous LIGHT” .

Many Christians unfortunately do not understand the life or faith they find themselves. To many, Christianity is trying to do the instructions of the Bible. This is the big error many people find themselves. Trying to do the instructions of the Bible makes Christianity a religion, but Christianity is not a religion.  We are not called to try to please God so we would be acceptable to him. (It is not a life of human effort) We would be answering these questions in these studies.

Christianity is Christ living through a man. It is the life in which the victories of Jesus over Satan is demonstrated through men by the ability of the Spirit. Christianity is not about you or me, but is basically about Christ in us showing forth His victory through us. What then is our role? Our role is to trust the Lord to express Himself through us.  Christianity is a beautiful life of glory. It is a life of rest in faith, allowing the risen Christ do exploits through us to manifest His glory. Suffering persecutions for Jesus is also a way of demonstrating His victory over Satan. It is called light afflictions. (2nd Corinth 4:17)

Just consider our key scripture from the amplified Bible again. 1 Peter 2:9(Please read it above).  These things cannot be done by any man’s effort or ability. It can be achieved by the spirit at work in you. We live by acknowledging Jesus victory as ours. We must also believe and know that; the Lord Jesus is presently at home in us to fulfill His purposes in us. Our victory in life is a done deal. As you intensify your fellowship with the Spirit, you demonstrate victory over sin, sicknesses, poverty and you do exploits by setting men free from satanic bondage.

CONFESSIONS

I am born again by the Spirit of the Lord, and it is the spirit who expresses Himself through me. He shows forth the victories of the Lord in us.
