KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:17 ” That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses”.

In our discussion on divine healing, we wish to lay the foundation for receiving healing from the Lord.

To be able to receive healing from the Lord you must fully establish it in your mind that it is God’s perfect will to see you healed. You must be convinced from the scriptures that God wants you well. Sickness is never His way of punishing His children or humbling His children. One’s actions and ways may bring some kind of ailment, yet it is not God who placed it on him or her although He might have allowed it.

 Now how many people would God heal, or who will He heal? The following scriptures would help us. Matthew 8:16 “When the evening was come they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils and cast out the spirits with his word and healed all that were sick. Matthew 12:15 “But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from thence: and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. Like 4:40 “Now when the sun was setting all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him and He laid His hands on every one of them, and healed them.  Like 6:19 “And the multitude sought to touch Him: for there went virtue out of Him and healed them all”.

Jesus is the revelation of the will of God. He did what the father wanted Him to do. He always healed all those who came to Him expecting to be healed. HE NEVER SENT ANYONE AWAY. In Mark 1:40, 41, a leper came to Jesus asking the Lord to heal him if only he willed to do so.  The Lord quickly corrected him and said i will; He even went further to do what the law suggested not to be done, that is, not to touch a leper. Mark 1:41 “And Jesus moved with compassion, put forth His hand and touched Him, and saith unto Him I will, be thou clean”. The Lord is saying to you who needs healing today, I will be thou clean”.

Please consider the Lord’s reaction to the attitude of the Pharisees to a sick woman who needed healing on the Sabbath day, in Luke 13:12-17. The Lord said the following to establish His unflinching desire for healing all under the Abrahamic covenant. Luke 13:16 ” And ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has bound lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day”.

Dear child of God, you are a son or daughter of the covenant and Jesus is angry at what the devil is doing in your life, reach out and receive your healing today!

Isaiah 33:24 ” And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity”.

 PRAYER

I am a benefactor of the covenant of Abraham and therefore, it is wrong for the enemy to torment my life with sicknesses and diseases, in the Name of Jesus I command the spirit of infirmity to loose its hold over my life right now. Amen.

Divine healing is a restoration to health by the power of God. There are various ways of administering healing to the sick. There are physical or natural ways of healing the sick. Our concern in this study is to look at how to receive healing from the Lord.

Sickness remains one of the major enemies and a molester of humans. The medical profession is doing its best yet there are countless cases that medicine has no answer to. Knowing how to receive healing is a big plus to having a fulfilled life. Many people wish they could be alleviated from the power of diseases. To a lot of people it is not possible. Some even say it is the will of God to afflict people with sicknesses and for that matter some of God’s children as well.  Are these views true? What is the biblical answers to some of these questions? This series of studies will throw some light on such questions and help you live free of the power of sicknesses.

Stop and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes so you may behold wondrous truths out of the word of God (Psalm 119:18).

I would first want to explain the difference between divine healing and divine health.

Diving healing, as I explained earlier is restoration to health through the power of God. Divine health is a preservation of your health by the power of God. In divine healing from God (I have been using the phrase receiving healing instead of God healing your sicknesses. This is for a very important reason. I would explain as our study proceeds), one who has been suffering from some sickness is made whole by the power of God. In divine health you do not get sick in the first place. Divine health is God’s ultimate desire for His children. I pray we humbly go through these series of studies so we would be able to walk in divine health. 1st Corinthians 6:20 says “For you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your bodies and in your spirit”    No disease allows men to glorify God in their bodies.

Divine health is God’s will for you. 3rd John 1:2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper, and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.

God wants you well.

It is the will of God that I may be in health. It glorifies Him. I would continue to walk in perfect health even as I walk in the word of God to glorify Him.

Psalms 103:2-3 ” Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;”

Someone, once said, discovery brings recovery. I pray you come to discover yourself from these studies. KNOW who you really are, and take your place in this life. To know who you are,opens you up to your real potentials and subsequently what you can do.

The story is told of a hunter who found a lion cub alone in the forest. He brought this baby lion home and added it to his flock of sheep It attempted to eat leaves like them. They played and grazed together. One day they went out grazing whiles a big lion came around. The sheep and the ‘lion sheep’ all run away from this adventuring lion.

On another occasion they were grazing by a river bank when they saw this same lion at the extreme end of the river. They were caught with fear and ran for their lives. This time the baby lion which had grown, looked at his image in the river . He realised he had ears like it, His hair, face and general features were the same as the wild lion. The young lion did not ran from it, but crossed the river and followed it to the wild.Through self discovery it recovered itself.

Many Christians have lived, associated and related with ordinary men or people such that they see themselves like them.

Dear child of God, your birth into Christ according to John 1:12,13 is not a religious cliche` but a present hour reality. Please read some of the descriptions that the Holy Spirit makes of you. “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear it’s sound but cannot tell where it’s comes from and where it is going, SO IS EVERYONE THAT IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT”(John 3:8). The Christian cannot be stopped, He is supernatural and like the wind.. This is by birth as a result of receiving the life of Christ.

To really discover who you are just look at the Lord Jesus. That is how you are because he lives through you; He is your life.

I am born from above, from a higher life. Jesus is my life. He is alive in me. I am not influenced by the world and it’s ways. My Lord Jesus does His works through me.

Psalms 82:6 ” I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High”.

I have come to discover many Christians do not understand the fact that Christ is their life. (Colossians 3:4a “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear …”)

  Christ is the life of the Christian. (Galatians 2:20). This means the Christian is a supernatural person. You are not this body. The real you lives inside the body .2nd (Corinth 5:1-8). The inner man or the real you is also Christ in you (Colossians 1:27)

  When we say ‘ I’, as a Christian, we should mean   the man or woman who is strong and Satan cannot easily manipulate. You are referring to the man, woman or boy who overcomes diseases and all that Satan throws at him or her. .  I pray you discover who you are. I hear people sing songs like “I am weak but thou at strong”.  If you sing this as a baby Christian there is no problem. But the matured Christian who sings such songs become a potential   prey for the enemy. Somebody may say we are admitting we are weak so we can receive of His strength. This is where Satan takes advantage of you.  1st Corinthians 6:17 says “But he that’s joined to the Lord is one spirit”. Please just consider this, if you are one spirit with Him, what made you weak.

Dear child of God you have become who you are in Christ by grace. (Romans 5:17). Listen to the advice the Holy Spirit gave to Timothy in 2nd Timothy 2:1. “Thou therefore my son be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus”. Please answer me, what does it mean to be strong in something? It means to take full advantage or use of it. Grace has made us one with Him and therefore as He is so are we. (1st John 4:17). Why do you keep confessing weakness? Let the weak say I am strong. (Joel 3:10)

Dear child of God your calling to be a Christian is to reveal Christ through you.(Gal 1:16).  He is our life.

  PRAYER

Thank you Jesus that you gave me your life, so that I may be free from my old self of weakness, and sickness and partake of your divine nature.

In our key scripture the Lord concluded His statement that no one comes to the Father except through Him. This is a very strong statement. The Lord knew there would be all sorts of teachings, doctrines and persons who would claim they are the way.

In our discussion in these series of studies we have established beyond doubt that Jesus is the way.  That way is seen in the message of the gospel.  (1st Corinthians 15:3, 4). John 3:16 states it so clearly that “for God so loved the world that He His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Our Lord Jesus is the bridge between mankind and God.  Accept Him today if you have not given your life over to Him.

We also learnt that our Lord Jesus is the truth.  Jesus is reality. He forever abides faithful. The scripture says He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. The Lord has transformed countless millions over the years, who have come to Him for salvation. Many who have been tormented by various incurable diseases, have been graciously saved or healed at the mention of the name of Jesus. Jesus is the truth. He would forever honour what He says.

Thirdly we learnt that Jesus is the life. Men are not lost because they do not have and know moral doctrines, rather men are lost because they are spiritually dead. The need of man is life, a supernatural life that makes him a child of God.  Jesus has given us His life, every man can become a benefactor, of His life.

Our Lord Jesus is indeed the only way to salvation and a successful life on this earth. I know that because He is my Lord my eternal home is forever assured.

Acts 4:10, 12 ” Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”.

Titus 2:14 ” Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works”.

How does the Christians take advantage of the divine life?

We have learnt that Jesus Christ is our life, yet many Christians do not know how to allow the divine life of Christ to be manifested in their day to day experiences. Romans 8:6 gives us the answer in a very simple way. It reads “for to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”. Divine life takes over when our minds agree with the scriptures and our hearts are ready to act on the word.  This applies in all aspects of our lives: it works in receiving ability to do what the word says, receiving healing from the spirit etc. (Please read Matt 8:8–13)

To be spiritually minded is to be scripturally minded, a readiness to do what the scriptures says. (Please take every instruction of scripture as pouring forth from the lips of the master) There is always a supernatural transformation when we allow the scriptures to dominate our mind.  Roman 12:2 says “And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your Mind….” God’s word always carries life and supernatural ability. When the Christian gives heed to what God is saying, the Bible says, that person is transformed into what the scripture says. This is how the word creates miracle in various ways.

God word is full of divine life.  John 6:63 “it is the spirit that gives life, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life”. .  Romans 8:6 says the flesh will breed death if it rules. Give in to what God says.

The moment you accept what God says, the supernatural life in God’s word goes into action and works miracles, yet for you to experience this miracle in reality, you must boldly declare what you have accepted from the word .Romans 10:9&10.

The life of Christ comes to us through the word. I open up myself to place my confidence in the word always.

Galatians 3:5 ” He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”

Isaiah 55:11 ” So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”.

We continue with the fact that Jesus is the life. It is always what one is that determines what he does and subsequently what he will become.

Christ had taken His abode in the Christian. The child of God can only be successful in this life, if He acknowledges that Christ is in him. In actual fact he or she must do all things with the awareness that it is Christ actively working through him or her. (Philippians 2:13).

The book of Romans 8:9, 10 makes it clear that Christ in a Christian puts Him in the Spirit and not in the flesh. The verse 10 says “And if Christ be in you the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness”. The Spirit in this sense is Christ in us.  The verse says that the body is dead, that is, the body no longer rules or leads us. The presence of Christ in us relegates the influence of the flesh or body to the back ground, giving way to the Spirit to lead and control us. The Christian with this understanding does all things by the life of Christ or the Spirit of Christ. This is the ground for true victory in his life.

 His (Jesus) life in us makes us live beyond the ordinary human.  Philippines 4:13 adds that we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us.  There is a super life at work in every child of God.  Align your thinking this way.  Face life with an advantageous mentality.

Our Lord Jesus faced His life encounters with this attitude. He made statements like the Father is with me.  John 8:29 “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone: for I do always those things that please Him”.

The Lord Jesus is our life. He seeks to express Himself through us. May we allow Him to manifest His power and wisdom through you.

Christ is alive in me. He is my wisdom and my ability. All things are indeed possible with me because He strengthens me.

Christianity is a biological miracle. In Christ ordinary mortals receive a heavenly supernatural life which supplants the natural life they received from their parents. The word “born again” means to be born from above or from a higher place. (John 3:3,)

Dear child of God this is not just a view we carry but a real biological miracle.  Apostle Paul put it this way in Galatians 2:20 as follows ” I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

 This is the experience of every Christian. It is the life of Jesus that is living and pulsating through our flesh. This became possible because Jesus died in our place so He could release His life for us.

The Lord Jesus is the life indeed. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 says “therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things have passed away behold EVERYTHING has become new”. There is a new life in every Christian. This is a mystery and a real wonder.

Apostle Paul speaks of this life in Colossians 1:27 as follows “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”. Christ is the life of the Christian. He gave His life for us and presently lives in us. What can defeat you? The Christian is Christ in one. “. Christ means the anointed one. When we say Jesus the Christ, we are only saying Jesus the anointed one. By virtue of the Christ in you, you have also become the anointed one.

The Lord Jesus died to make His life available to every man who would believe in Him.  Dear child of God through our Lord Jesus Christ you are a supernatural being. Do everything with this understanding and you would never be found wanting.

Christ is my life. What a miracle. By Him all things are possible with me. I have God’s divine nature and I am an associate of the God kind, because Jesus gave His life for me. The forces of destruction in this life cannot defeat me. Thank you Jesus.

2 Peter 1:4  ” Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust”.

John 1:4-5  ” In him was life; and the life was the light of men.And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.

In our scripture of consideration, the Lord said that, He is the way, the truth and the life.  In this study we are looking at the “life” aspect.

The Bible reveals that man is spiritually dead.  Roman’s 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned. Death possessed everyone who was born into this life.  Ephesians 2:1 iterates that “And you has He quickened (raised) who were dead in trespasses and sins”.  Man’s problem was not just a moral decay but an issue of separation from God which is a spiritual death.

Now physical death is a separation of the spirit of man from His body. James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead so faith without works is dead”.

What every man needed was not laws and doctrines but life from above. (Dead men can’t respond to instructions, they need life) This was the reason Jesus came, to give to all men, life. The Lord said in John 10:10…..but I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly”. He said the good shepherd gives His life for His sheep. (John 10:11) Jesus did not come just to raise followers for God, He came to raise a family (sons and daughters) for God.. John 1:12,13 “But as many as received Him,  to them gave He power to become the sons of God,  even to them that believed in His name: which were born,  not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,  nor of the will of man,  but of God. Jesus had to give His life to make this possible. This is the reason religion which is men  seeking to be acceptable before God by observing laws, codes of attics, doctrines and ordinance cannot be saved.

Indeed Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but through Him.

Beloved readers please understand that no amount of good deeds can make you acceptable before the Father.  You must be born again or born from above.  (John 3:3, 5). Question; HOW GOOD ARE YOU?

Our Lord Jesus is the only truth because He is the only one who can give men true rest.  Most men are living restless lives. Peace of mind has eluded millions. Religion is never the answer to a peaceful life.  Religion has rather created big divisions among humans. It is the lack of peace in people’s hearts that causes them to attack their fellow human beings, all in the name of the defense or promotion of their religion.

The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 that “Come unto me all he that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”. Any man who sincerely came to Him received rest for his soul. There has been so many religious leaders, yet none has been able to really give peace and rest to its followers. None was so audacious to speak like Jesus spoke. He said He will give all those who came to Him rest.  This He has successfully done.

Jesus is the prince of peace. This is what the prophet Isaiah prophesied about Him, Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born and unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and His name shall be called wonderful, counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, the prince of peace. Jesus is the only truth because He is the prince of peace who can give you the peace you need.

There are some people who are emotionally attached to their religions although they are very aware they have no peace. They know they are not sure of their eternal home. Please the worst thing you can do to yourself is to refuse all these candid facts about Jesus and to find yourself in eternal destruction.

Please what Jesus said either makes him a liar, lunatic or Lord. He cannot be a liar, after honouring His word in the lives of all those who believed Him. Lunacy cannot be associated with Him. His words have healed millions in all times.

Jesus is Lord, He is the truth.
