KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 4:18 ” The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

There are various ways one can receive healing from the Spirit of God.  It is very important we know them so we could avail ourselves to them when the need arises.

1. Healing through the anointing:

 God anoints His servants to bring healing to the sick. As they minister the word and even pray for the sick they are healed: Luke 5:17 says “And it came to pass on a certain day as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by which were come out of every town of Galilee and Judea, and Jerusalem and the power of the Lord was present to heal them”. In such meetings your healing is made manifest .The anointing is the power of the Spirit that is ready to restore you to perfect health.

Note: Never get too familiar to any man or woman of God who is ministering, since the power to heal cannot flow to you because of unbelief. (Mark 6:5, 6). Please your ability to go home healed depends on you as well as the man ministering.(Read Mark 5:25–29)Always receive from the Spirit like the woman in Mark 5, did. Say to yourself and to God, ‘as I hear God’s word my healing is totally perfected’

2. The prayer of faith:

 James 5:14 says is any sick among you?  Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up”. This scripture is very amazing. He ask, is any sick? This means anyone who is sick is included, including you if you are sick. The prayer of faith by the elders (elders: also means any man or woman who knows and believes what the word says) would save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up when the prayer of faith is offered. After the prayer of faith just know that the Lord has healed you.  If the change does not take place instantly, don’t worry, you have been healed according to the word of God and the symptoms will all go away.

Your faith in the word of God at such a moment is very important. The word said; God shall raise you up.  It is not, he may but shall: whenever you are prayed for please accept your healing and begin to do all those things you were not able to do. Keep thanking God for healing you.

My God is a healer who seeks His children to be well. I would always avail myself to all the ways of healing that I am opportune to receive.

Acts 10:38 ” How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”.

Mark 6:13 “And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Psalms 8:2 ” Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger”.

One of the most powerful weapons given to man is his mouth. Eating is only one of the functions of the mouth. The mouth is also meant to help chart one’s course in life. It is a weapon to destroy the enemy.

Our key scripture says, God has ordained strength in the mouths of babies and sucklings because of his enemies, that He might still the enemy and the avenger. The word “mouth” in the Greek language is ‘stoma” which also means the edge of a weapon. The scripture says God has ordained strength in your mouth. We are saved as we make confessions with our mouth. (Romans 10:10). In the ministry of our Lord Jesus he healed the sick by speaking to various conditions and they obeyed.

You must use your mouth against the conditions that seems to threaten your life.

A lady came to me with a lump in her breast. I prayed with her rebuking the lump to die and pass out of her body. I then told her to keep speaking to the lump that it is dead and gone out of her body. This sister was very obedient. She kept talking to the lump that it was dead and had no place in her breast. After a while she decided to get back to the doctor who diagnosed that she had the lump. The doctor checked and asked her, who told you, you have a lump in your breast? The sister said “doctor you examined me and confirmed that I had a lump in my breast”. The doctor remarked, “Well I see no lump in your breast”.

This sister used her mouth to ‘cut’ the lump out of her body. Stop complaining about the problem and speak to it.  The Bible said “whosoever shall say to this mountain be thou removed and be cast into the sea,  and shall not doubt and believe that what he says shall come to pass,  he shall have whatsoever he says. (Mark 11:23).Note: Your mouth is an instrument to fight, use it appropriately.

In the name of Jesus I speak to any condition in my life that does not honour God’s word to comply and respond according to the normal way God designed it to be.

Matthew 8:16  ” When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were”

KEY SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 4:20-22.  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

In our previous study we looked at the need to fight the good fight of faith when the need arises. In today’s study we would look further into some of the things to do so we would always win the battle for our perfect health.

Our key scripture teaches us how to keep our focus on the word. Remember that when one opens up to God’s word, it will help him or her to experience the ability of the word to give life and minister healing to every part of the body. (Proverbs 4:22)

There are a number of steps that we see in our key scripture, which would help us to take advantage of the life in the word.

STEP 1

 Give attention to the word. Take some time off to reflect over the word.

STEP 2

The second step, is to incline or bow the ear to the word. This is an attitude of submission to God’s word. A total neglect of all other persuasions that oppose and contradict the effect of the word in our lives.

STEP 3

 Let not the word depart from your eyes.  In the moment of the fight of faith, keep your eyes on the promises of the scripture. You may do it as often as practicable.

STEP 4

 The final point is to keep the promises of scripture in your heart. Believe what the word says. Expect to have it manifested in your life. . Keep it in the midst of your heart.

 Now he comes in with a very important instruction in verse 23 “Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life”. It implies, as you keep the promise in your heart don’t allow any other contrary word, expectation, anticipation or concern to occupy your heart. If you allow it would choke the word.

The Lord Jesus talked about this in the parable of the sower as follows. Mark 4:18, 19. He said the seed sown among thorns are the people who receive the word but as it grows, the cares of this life, the deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things entering in choke the word. Keep your heart and don’t allow other things to get into you. Let the word have a free course in you.

The Lord said if this is done, the word would surely yield fruit, your healing would be certain.

 CONFESSION

God’s word is always the miracle seed for my healing. In all moments I would focus on the word and would not allow other thoughts to influence me.

Mark 4:18-19 “And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful”.

Psalms 119:11  ” Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin (be sick ) against thee”.(italics mine)

KEY SCRIPTURE: 1 Timothy 6:12 ” Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses”.

What do you do when the condition seems not to change even after the prayer of faith or you have appropriated the scripture?

This is where our key scripture comes into play.  Our key scripture says, “fight the good fight of faith lay hold on eternal life……”. At this stage you have to fight the fight of faith.

 The fight of faith is the attitude coupled with actions maintaining your confidence of victory in the Lord, even when everything seems to be failing. Your faith is the main determinant whether you stay healed or not. Satan’s target in such a moment is mainly to keep you focused on the symptoms so he could make your faith ineffective. In the parable of the sower the Lord explained about the seed that fell on rocky ground as follows.

 Mark 4:17 reads “And have no root in themselves; and endure but for a time: afterwards when AFFLICTION or PERSECUTION ariseth for the word’s sake immediately they are offended”.

Dear child of God, that stiff opposition has arisen because of the word of faith in your heart.  The enemy seeks that you lose your grounds and your stand on the word. Your faith places you in the very class of God. Mark 9:23 “Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to them that believe”. Do you also remember that “with God all things are possible”. Your faith is the strongest force in this universe. It seriously destroys the agenda of Satan. He would do everything possible for you to lose it. This, the Bible says, fight for it. Keep the word of God in your heart, on your eyes and in your mouth (Proverbs 4:20-21) Declare the scriptures to yourself, to God, and to the devil. In such moments don’t focus on your condition that looks bad. Faith is always a product of the word. Faith is a supernatural thing and will create your miracle for you.. Maintain your ground in the word just as Abraham did in Roman’s 4:18-20. Verse 19 reads “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb”.

Abraham, in spite of his age and that of the wife, believed God to receive his answer.

Your faith would not fail. You would walk in health.

My faith in times of trials is unshaken. I focus on the word of God keeping my faith strong and active. I will always come out victorious.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Psalms 103:3 “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases”;

How does one appropriate the promises of divine healing and divine health?

To be able to take advantage of the promises of divine healing or divine health, you must first know about the scriptures that relate to it.

Let’s take a look at some of these promises.

1. Exodus 23:25 “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee”.
2. Exodus 15:26 ” And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee
3. Psalms 103:3 “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases”;
4. Isaiah 53:4-5. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”.

To appropriate any of these promise speak out the promise of scripture and declare how the conditions are fulfilled in your case.

You can then claim it as yours and subsequently, your healing.

Thank the Lord for healing you. Maintain your grounds and your healing would materialise. Know that the Lord is ever present with you to honour His word (Jeremiah 1:12).  Keep praising the Lord for healing you.

 PRAYER

I thank you heavenly father that you forgive all my sins and you heal all my diseases. I accept my healing and from this hour I know every power of disease is absolutely destroyed over my life in Jesus name. Thank you Father for healing me.

In order to appropriate healing from the Lord, you must come to terms with the INTEGRITY OF THE WORD OF GOD.

One of the biggest hindrances to Christians experiencing the blessings of God is that they treat God’s word, (the bible) as just another book. The bible pulsates with the life of God (2nd Tim 3:16, 17).To benefit from it you must let your very existence depend on it.

Our key scripture says God sent His word and healed them and delivered them from all their destruction.  Dear child of God in order to receive healing from the Lord you have got to understand or come to terms with the fact that God’s word is faithful and would always produce what it talks about. The following scriptures highlight on the faithfulness or integrity of God’s word.

 In Jeremiah 1:12 the prophet wrote “Then said the Lord unto me, thou has well seen for I will hasten my word to perform it.” 2nd Corinthians 1:20 reads “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us”. Every promise is yes or so be it, in Christ

  Isaiah 55:11 assures us as follows. “So shall my word be that goes out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. God’s word has the potency to do what it talks about, all it needs is to be kept in the heart then the results would manifest. Numbers 23:19 also says, “God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and shall He not do it, has He spoken and will He not make it good?”  Men may fail not necessarily because they intend to but they may not have the ability to do It., This is not so with God. When He says a thing He has the ability and the will. If He has promised healing, then performing it is as good as the word itself. Romans 3:4a also says “God forbid let God be true and Every man a liar”.

Now what has He said about our health? 1st Peter 2:24b says “and by whose stripes you were healed”. Count your healing done.

 CONFESSION

The word of God is God’s blue print message to me. I believe with my whole heart what God has said, therefore, I have what He said.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received freely give”

The Lord Jesus during His ministering years spent most of His time healing the sick. He commands us to also heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and raise the dead. How did He do this work?

In Luke 17:12-14 Jesus was met with ten lepers who requested for healing. The Lord did not pray for them but asked them to go and show themselves to the high priest. These men were healed as they went.

In Mark 2:5-11, the Lord asked the man sick of palsy to arise and take up his bed and go. In Mark 1:30-31, the Lord held the hand of Simon’s mother- in-law and lifted her up.

In John 5:1-9, the Lord after asking the impotent man if He would want to walk, the Lord went ahead and asked him to lift his bed and walk.

The Lord even commanded Lazarus to come out from the grave and he did.

Our Lord Jesus put aside His glory as God and did everything as a man who depended on the Holy Spirit. This is the reason he instructed us in our opening scripture to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out the devils, The Lord was asking us to do as He did. This is what is called working of miracles.

He issued the command in faith and the candidates acted on the word. It is the response to the word spoken in faith which causes the miracle to take place.

Many times we pray for the sick. This is not wrong any way, but there is a higher and better way that is the way of the master. Do as He did. He commanded the sick to do what they were supposed to do, but unable because of the sickness, and as they put their faith into action the Holy Spirit takes over and perfect restoration was evidenced.

    CONFESSION

I have received command to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and raise the dead. I will do likewise to seek the helpless and invalid freed from all satanic and demonic oppression and aggression. I know who I am, and would give myself to setting men free.

Matthew 10:1 “And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease”.

Luke 10:9 “And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 53:4-5. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

We continue with our study on how many will God heal, or is it the will of God to heal all who come to Him?

The provisions God has made for healing the sick goes a long way to show His readiness to see men healed.

From Isaiah 53:4, the scripture reads “surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him   stricken, smitten of God and afflicted”. The word grief means sickness in the Hebrew language and the word sorrows also means pains. Our key scripture added that “and with His stripes we are healed”. The apostle Peter referred to this verse relating it to all Christians as follows “……by whose stripes we were healed”.

Dear child of God this scripture tells us that our Lord Jesus “surely” carried our sickness and bore our pains. Who are those included in the “our”. In that same passage we learnt that the punishment for our peace as well as our iniquities have all been laid on Him. Are you included in ‘our’ or not?

 Dear child of God, don’t let any experience of anyone, whether recorded in the bible or it was experienced in life. It never negates the all-time statement that says our Lord Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried away our pains.

 NOTE: The fact that a man of God sinned like in the case of Samson, does not mean God uses sin to teach His children anything (lesson).

God has stated His will for everyone to take advantage of. It says Jesus has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains and by His stripes we are healed. This is His universal will and anyone who meet the terms of believing this or taking it for Himself shall enjoy the full benefits of it. He has borne it for EVERY MAN. You are included. If you will accept it with a child-like faith you would be healed of that sickness that is threatening your life. Jesus proved His readiness to heal all who came to Him, demonstrating real faith in Him.

Dear brother or sister you will not fail to receive your healing. God’s arm will be revealed to the man who would believe this report. (Isaiah 53:1)

CONFESSION

The Lord Jesus suffered in my place to purchase my total healing. I accept this work of healing in Jesus name.
