THE MIND OF CHRIST, HOW HIS WORD WORKS IN US

KEY SCRIPTURE:2Pe 1:4 KJV” Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

The bible teaches us that, His word is His means of working on the earth. At creation, God spoke various things into existence. He said, let there be light and there was light. Heb 11:3 KJV “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” The Lord Jesus taught us that, the flesh profits nothing, it is the word that gives life, the words that speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” John 6:63

Now knowing the word of God is Spirit, how does it produce results in us? When one hears the word of God and believes it, a transformation process takes place. The spiritual nature of the word transforms that individual from his ordinary natural human condition to whatever the word is talking about.2nd Peter 1:4, put it this way, 2Pe 1:4 KJV” Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” The above scripture says we become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Lust can mean, unbelieve or any way we allow the flesh to dictate to us. When the heart of a man Kames in the word, it imposes, it’s supernatural impact on that person and makes the person the very thing the word is. He or she becomes a partaker of the divine state of the word.

The word of God, also acts as a seed. If one believes in what it says, he has planted that seed in His heart. So long as unbelief or doubt does not fight out the word from the heart, it will surely grow to bear fruit in line with what it talks about. Isaiah 55:11 KJV” So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” The scripture calls on us to keep the word in our hearts. The Lord also taught that when the word is accepted into a good heart, that is the one which would not give up on the word because of difficult times or allow the cares of this life, the deceitfulness of riches or lust of the things in the world to choke the word. If he allows the word to grow freely it would surely produce results. Mark 4:15-19.

Do you need a miracle or a change in some aspect of your life?  Find what the word says about that particular thing. Keep it in your heart, by daily affirming that you have that thing. Refuse to yield to any contrary situation, you would surely have what you have believed.

CONFESSION.

God’s word is His means of relating with men on this earth. I accept His word on whatever matter of concern. I keep the word in my heart, saying and doing what it says. God’s word always produces whatever it talks about in me.

THE MIND IF CHRIST, BE SPIRITUAL

KEY SCRIPTURE: Rom 12:2 KJV” And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Our key scripture admonishes us not to be conformed to this world. To be conformed means to be shaped like the world. When bricks or blocks are being moulded for building, the mixture of sand cement, and water are poured into a mould and ramped. That loose mixture compacts into the shape of the mould. This is how conformity is. You should not allow yourself   to become the ways and mindset of the world. The child of God should rather renew his or her mind with the scriptures so you would be transformed. There is a big difference between transformation and conformity. An example of transformation is how an egg of a butterfly goes through various states to become a butterfly. The butterfly is completely different from the egg. Whiles in conformity the original material is the same but a different shape of the end product.

The world is forcing craftily to impose its ways of doing things unto the church, and we must be wide awake and not fall prey to it. It is CHRISTMAS time. A time we celebrate God’s gift that brought salvation to humanity. Christmas is SIMPLY CELEBRATING OUR SALVATION as we acknowledge the birth of Jesus. This salvation was initiated by the birth of our Saviour. Any acts, songs and words that does not talk about the birth of Christ and the ultimate salvation He brought us is missing the mark. It is the world casting its mind view on us, the children of God. Do not patronise songs that talk about Santa Claus, or father Christmas. There are a number of songs coming up these days which have no bearing with the birth of Jesus and the salvation he brought to us. Let us be very awake, and not allow the world to direct our celebration that is supposed to honour our Lord Jesus DO not be carried away about spending so much money to amuse yourself. You may share with the less privileged, that is okay. Christmas, is celebrating our salvation, through the acknowledgement of the birth of Jesus our Saviour.

There are many ways Satan seeks to convey his mindset unto the church, but I will talk about a particular one. I see videos going around talking about what happened to Africa and it adds things like whiles the children of Europe and may be Asia are producing toys, African children are praying in tongues. I wish to ask what has children praying in tongues got to do with Africa’s inability to manufacture basic necessities of life? What way did that child speaking in tongues made us poor. Our poverty rests mainly on poor leadership, or selfish leaders, period. Toys are produced in the schools. If the school administrators in government give good leadership, can’t our children be also producing toys in their schools, alongside speaking in tongues at church?

Sadly, I find some Christians sending such posts to their contacts. Let’s be wise, Satan is waging a crusade on the minds of Africans as well as the church, that, it is serving God that makes Africa poor. How could this be, yet it is subtilty being waged. I admit some people have used Christianity as a tool to cheat and deceive their victims. These people are criminals who have camouflaged into pastors. Let the bible show you the truth Beloved, Jesus is real, He is not a myth. He is the only Saviour of mankind, and we must aggressively project Him to all Africans and the world at large.

CONFESSION

The word of God is my only inspiration. I do not conform to the mindset of the world, which is only motivated by the devil, any subtle way Satan tries to present his ways, the wisdom of the word helps me to discern and so, I keep myself from being contaminated. I always maintain my spirituality.

THE MIND OF CHRIST, ONENESS WITH JESUS 3

KEY SCRIPTURE: Col 3:4 KJV “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”

In our last two studies, we learned that, we are mysteriously united to our Lord Jesus, so much that we are, and have whatever He has. This is what the bible calls abundance of Grace, by which we rule in life or in this life. Rom 5:17 KJV For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Our key scripture also shows us that, our Lord Jesus is our life. This picture is clearly revealed in the parable of the vine and its branches John 15;1-10. The branches have the same life as the vine. Whatever power, glory, ability, and protection the vine has, the branch also has the same.

The relationship between Christ and the children of God is called grace. John 1:16 KJV” And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.” The Lord Jesus is grace personified. He lavished on us, a superfluous supply of immeasurable riches our minds can’t fathom. Eph 3:8 KJV Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; Our Lord Jesus is the bodily revelation of God in His fulness. Col 2:9 KJV “For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” In Jesus are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge of God.

We are one with Jesus. He is our life. Rom 8:17, And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. To be joint heirs mean, joint owners. This means whatever is Christ’s is also ours. After talking about we being joint owners of all that He has, it said we must suffer with Him. This means we must do whatever He would have done. We must live like Him, and endure what He would have endured. Jesus was focused on winning men from Satan’s clutches and bondages. Go everywhere knowing that Jesus baptizes you with His abilities, for you have put Him on. Gal 3:27. May we be more aggressive in deputising for Him. He would work through us as He did for the first disciples.

CONFESSION

Hallelujah, I am one with Jesus, who is the manifestation of the power of God. His victory is my victory, His holiness is my holiness, His glory is my glory, and what riches of His glory in His grace.

Col 1:27 KJV” To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:”

John 15:4 KJV “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”

THE MIND OF CHRIST, OUR ONENESS WITH JESUS 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:5 KJV “And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.”

In our last study, we realised from the above key scripture that the Christian is mysteriously united to our Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus stated clearly that Paul was attacking Him, although practically he was persecuting the Christians. Every child of God needs to get the full implication of that revelation. Galatians 3:27 states it like this Gal 3:27 KJV “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”. The day you accepted the Lordship of Jesus over your life and believed that God raised Him, from the grave after His death, you were baptised or immersed into Christ. Rom 6:3. The scripture in Gal 3:27 says through that act you have put on Christ like a man wears a garment.

On the flip side, we have not only put Him on, He is also living in us. Col 1:27 KJV “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Now He is in us and He is all around us or we are in Him. What does God seek to achieve by this? He seeks a complete takeover of our lives by Jesus. We, therefore, throw away our consciousness of our weak, defeated, sinful self to assume the superior, victorious, all-conquering Christ personality as the very one functioning on this earth in our name. From this position we are not the weak ones, always praying to be strong, we are strong in Him, and should not accept any thoughts of weakness. Remember the scripture advised us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  The power of His might is the fulness of His power, including the totality of angels at our disposal. We should not in one moment feel vulnerable under the threat of Satan’s power.

The acknowledgment of our oneness with Jesus also means we stand in the place of authority, victory and security of Jesus. The scripture uses the term, COMPLETE in Him, who is the Head of all principality and power.  This is the reason when the bible spoke of our wrestle against supernatural forces of evil, the scripture kept using the word STAND. Our position is the very state of our Lord Jesus. He is never down. We are also never down. No matter what seems to be going on physically, never think you are being defeated. Our oneness with Jesus makes us partake of His victory.

There is this term that most Christians use quite often. The word breakthrough. To breakthrough suggests you were down, defeated, and through some means you have broken free from that state, or limiting position. In the natural that is what it seems. This word is a little bit problematic because it places the Christian in the mental frame that is not really true of who He is, and gives Satan, or his devils an advantage over Him. Our master Jesus has broken through, when he rose from the grave. Rom 6:9 KJV “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him”. If we are one with Him, then we broke through with Him. If this does not show in the physical, you do not accept a defeated mentality trying to succeed, but maintain your victory in Christ mentality and rather, RESIST the enemy who seeks to get you defeated. WE FIGHT FROM VICTORY TO VICTORY; NOT DEFEAT TO VICTORY.

Before the contest, we are already victorious.

CONFESSION

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your victory over death, Satan, sin and sicknesses. I am one with you and so I am victorious over death, sin, sicknesses and Satan, Hallelujah. No matter what I face, or see in the natural I am never defeated. None of these things will ever reign over me. It is Jesus ruling over me. He is the Lord of my life, never the devil or anything of his. AMEN

Eph 6:13 KJV “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

THE MIND OF CHRIST, ONENESS WITH JESUS.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:5 KJV “And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.”

Apostle Paul who was formally Saul of Tarsus had received an authoritative note from the high priest, to arrest the Christians and persecute them. The Lord met Him on his way to Damascus. The Lord answered a question Paul asked as follows, Acts 9:5 KJV And he said, Who art thou, Lord? “And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.” Paul wanted to know the one who had intercepted him. Our Lord Jesus has been encountering many in a similar manner, in our present moments. If you do not know Him as Lord, please do not wait further, turn your life over to Him, today Jesus is still saving lives.

In the Lord’s answer to Paul, He revealed something very remarkable. He said, to him,” I am Jesus whom you are persecuting”. Paul was attacking the Christians, yet, the master said, he is the one they are persecuting. This reveals that we are one with Jesus.

The Christian is not just a follower of Jesus, but mysteriously united with Him.

Galatians 2:20 states, we have been crucified with Jesus, yet we live, but not us. The life we are living in the flesh, we live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us, and gave Himself for us. He is living in us and functioning through us. We have His perfect abilities right within us. May the eyes of all Christians be opened to understand that, we are to carry out the very things He would have done if He was around.

Dear child of God, do everything with the knowledge that, it is Christ Himself actively doing that thing, or saying those words through you. In light of this, give no place to any word about your neighbour that would break him or her down. Rather give out words that would build up. Make love for all, your hallmark. Believe you are a storehouse of authority and power. Take your place, and act for Jesus. Touch the sick as He would do, and they would be healed. Take authority over demonic situations like Jesus would do, and the devils would flee. He is in you to continue with His works, just as when He was on earth.

CONFESSION

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for choosing to be one with us. Thank for you presence in us. Your presence in me overcomes all the works of the evil one. There is no task, that is too great for me to do. I have your love at work in me. Thank you, Lord, for choosing to be one with me.

THE MIND OF CHRIST, LIVING A MEANINGFUL LIFE.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 1:74 KJV” That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.”

Many have questioned privily in their hearts, asking, is life meaningful at all? What is the meaning of living? Many have gone for pleasure, amusement, and what have you, yet like king Solomon wrote, all is vanity upon vanity. Many more have plunged themselves into absolute darkness by taking God, who is the cause and essence of life out of the picture. This is the misery of billions of humans and so are only wanderers in this life. Well, life is very meaningful if one comes to terms with the plans and programs of God. Rev 4:11 KJV Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. God created all things for His pleasure. The joy, benefit or importance of any created thing, is to live out for what it was made for. You can’t use your pen to slice plantain.

Our key scripture gives us the order for living this meaningful life. That scripture is in two parts. First a deliverance from our enemies. Secondly serving God in holiness and righteousness.

Man because of sin was under the bondage of his enemies, the devil, and his cohorts.  This was the reason, the Lord Jesus came; to deliver us from Satan’s bondage, through His death and resurrection. Everyone must access this liberty by accepting Jesus as Lord. The second part is to live in holiness and righteousness all the days of our lives. Holiness turns to create some impressions in certain people. Holiness is simply separation from Satan and everything he stands for and to live for God. Satan stands for sin, sicknesses, poverty, shame etc. Holiness is not only about morals; it is an all-inclusive word. Be separate from Satan. In the Old Testament, a leper is separated from all others because he was unclean. This is a contagious sickness. Sickness makes men bound by the devil (Luke 13:13-18) and God is against it. Understand it this way, so you can avail yourself to be free of it, counting on the provisions of the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

A meaningful life is one dedicated to God serving Him in love and free from all satanic controls, both in actions and other forms of manipulations. Any form of satanic dominance in an individual’s life should not be tolerated and must be  checked out.

CONFESSION

I am living a very meaningful life, for I am free from all satanic controls and having love for my heavenly father. I walk in uprightness and exercise dominion over every work of Satan in any shape or form. My life brings glory to the Father and I am blessed ultimately.

THE MIND OF CHRIST, DEALING WITH FEAR.

KEY SCRIPTURE:2Co 10:5 KJV” Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

Life keeps offering various forms of challenges. Various difficulties come along with their level of threat it may pose to us. These matters can leave many very fearful. No child of God should live under the fear of any condition. Luke 1:74 KJV” That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,” This is one of the reasons the Lord came. There are a number of men who live under the dread of certain diseases as they grow old. Some with certain hereditary diseases are also subjected to the fear of those things. No matter how real that condition might have been existing, your place in Christ means there should no more be any fear or dread of that thing. Isaiah 8:12 KJV Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.”

God alone should be our fear.

Fear is simply faith in the ability of the evil one. The answer to this is to place your faith in God.

The assurance of the scriptures for a change of any condition is as follows. Mark 9:23 KJV” Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” According to the Lord, that condition is never hopeless as you may be thinking. He says if you can believe in God and His word, you can have the results and the change you want. Hallelujah! Stop feeling hopeless and start feeling hopeful. God has further promised that “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11. It said His word would prosper in the heart of anyone who keeps it there. The word about healing would prosper to give healing. The word about protection, would prosper and bring protection. All it needs is to keep it firmly in the heart.

How can one keep the word in his heart. When you hear the word or you read the word believe it. The next is to keep saying what you heard. It is agreeing with God about what he has said. Any time you repeat that word on your lips, your heart is strengthened about what you have believed, God hears what you are saying and responds positively, whiles Satan is shaken each moment he hears you say that word. Such an act keeps the word in your heart and according to Isaiah 55: 10, and 11, it will surely prosper in you. Dearly beloved let your heart be free from EVERY fear you have ever entertained or anticipated and enter into your realm of the miraculous in Jesus’ name.

CONFESSION

I have no fear in me. I have faith in God and His word. God’s word in my heart is active and powerful fulfilling whatever it talks about. I am blessed in every way. Nothing is impossible to me in Jesus name.

THE MIND OF CHRIST: HOW FEAR BECOMES REAL

KEY SCRIPTURE:1Jn 4:18 KJV” There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”

The Bible is filled with about three hundred and sixty-five fear not. This means one fear not is to go for each day. It also suggests fear is very dangerous, and should never be entertained by any child of God. What is fear? Fear is a feeling of insecurity as a result of an unfavourable condition or the mind just anticipating danger, whether real or not. Fear is also faith in the evil one. Or believing the ability of the evil one. We learnt in our last study that, when a man believes in a thing, he or she has received the condition into his heart, and could be described as   planting the event in his heart. It will take a matter of time and that event would be materialised? In the light of this, the man who fears about an evil event has also planted the event in his heart awaiting to be manifested in due time. Nobody wants to see the very things he or she is afraid of come to pass. Sadly, the event would surely manifest, if you do not kill it from your heart. This is what makes entertaining fear very dangerous.

Let’s consider the statement of righteous man Job, in Job 3:25,26.” For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.” Just consider what he said. The very thing he was afraid of has come into reality. Was it God who allowed it or it came out of his own doing? From our discussions Job had borne these issues in his heart and it only came into fruition when the time was due.

What must one do when fear seems to take a hold of you? See fear as an enemy that has come to destroy you. Refuse it vehemently. Give no word to it. Job said he kept saying, I am not saved, and have no rest. He allowed such negative words of fear to be planted in his heart. The whole thing came into fruition when Satan took advantage of the situation. Please be careful about what you say, for death and life are in the power of the tongue (Prov 18:21).

In the event that fear wants to take a hold of you, go to the truth that the word says about that particular condition, and keep saying what the word says and not what you feel Decide to believe what the word says. Fear would soon give way to faith.

CONFESSIONS

I give absolute attention to the word of God. When fear seems to take the best of me, I refuse to allow it to control me. I give my attention to the word and keep declaring what the word says. I have nothing of the wicked one in me.

THE MIND OF CHRIST, LET THE WORD RICHLY FILL YOU.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Col 3:16 KJV “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

It is the perfect will of God that every child of God is richly filled with the word of God. The word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path Ps 119:105. The word keeps the darkness away helping us to make our way through life. The Bible calls Satan the God of this world. In light of this, the devil has influenced the systems of this world. People go into politics, and because of evil voodoo power, they have to secure their positions by also getting these voodoo powers. The rule of the god of this world has permeated every aspect of our world. The only means to live above it is to guard your path according to the word of God.

The advice of scripture is to let the word of Christ feel you richly. Please note cramming the scriptures into your heart is not the main idea. It is all about knowing the word and being submitted and ready to believe what you have read or learned. THE SCRIPTURE YOU KNOW IS THE ONE YOU BELIEVED. Study, meditate, and listen to inspired messages, yet the scripture that fills you is the one you have believed. That is the scripture you would be ready to apply when Satan comes knocking on your door. The scripture said submit to God resist the devil, and he will flee

from you. James 4:7. It is the word in your heart that you have submitted to that the devil will flee when you apply.

During the Second World War, American soldiers visited a location that received some pounding of bombs from the German army. Everyone had vacated the area, yet they found a building with one room that was closed. They forced it open, only to find an old woman sleeping heartily. They woke her up and asked, madam are you not aware of the bombs that rocked this place, and you are fast asleep as if nothing is happening? She answered them, Why should I be awake when He who watches over me is awake? She in effect quoted, Psalms 121:3 KJV, “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.” This woman was richly filled with this very verse and so could not be moved. Get some scriptures and hang your life on them, and nothing would move or overcome you

CONFESSION

I fill my heart with the word. As much as study the word in a broad sense, I keep what I study firmly in my heart, ready to apply it, in times of need.

THE MIND OF CHRIST, POSSESS YOUR BLESSINGS

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matt 11:12 KJV “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”

As we enter a new month and even as we welcome the new year, there would be lots of us praying or calling on the new month or the new year to bring along with it, good tidings and all kinds of good wishes. It is very good to wish for great and good things, yet wishing is always not enough. We must move from wishing to possessing those blessings. Our key scripture stated that, since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of God has suffered violence. The word suffer is an old English word meaning ‘allow’. It should read, the kingdom of heaven has allowed violence, and violent men, take it by force.

How do they take it by violence? This is how believing and hoping comes into the issues of discussion. When we wish and pray that the new month brings blessings, this is hope. Hope is always an expectation or anticipation. Hope sees the issue in the future and so that thing may never be realised. What we need to do is that after wishing for a better month, or new year, we must reach out with our faith and take a hold of what we anticipate to have in the future. To believe is to take a hold of the thing in your heart. The principle of this life is sowing and reaping. When you believe, you have a thing, you actually possess that thing, like it has been planted in the heart. To wish for it means you only expect it, yet, you have not possessed it, and so it has not been planted in the heart. You cannot be certain about what you are wishing for, but you can be sure of having what you have believed for.

The scriptures said in Proverbs 4:23, that the issues of life proceed from the heart. Whatever you have believed has been planted in your heart, and so would surely come forth in due time. Please do not only wish for great tidings, you must also believe that you have them. After believing you can also take some practical actions to make it a reality. The following verse explains how these things function. Mark 4:26,28 KJV And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

Do possess your expectation and make them a reality for you.

CONFESSION

Thank God for the new month and the coming new year, I do not only wish for new blessed things, but I possess then through my faith in you. As I take a hold of them, they manifest in my life and experience in Jesus’ name.
