KEY SCRIPTURE: John 3:12 KJV” If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?”

Life and the activities of the universe have varying degrees of reality. There are matters relating to men and the earth plain. There are also matters relating to the divine which has a higher level of consciousness. The Lord told Nicodemus that, I am telling you about matters that relate to man and the earth plain, but you do not believe, how would you believe if I talk about issues relating to God, and heavenly matters, which has higher realities. Reality means truth. The matters relating to men and the earth have been given to us to perceive and believe. Please consider the following scripture, Deut 29:29 KJV “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

There are secret things, like issues concerning God and His existence. These matters are secrets or hidden. We would say they are mysteries. These are matters that a man cannot understand from a natural point of view (1 Corinth 1:21). They come to us by revelations as the bible has done. The bible never attempts to prove the existence of God. It starts by saying, in the beginning was God. We would do good to ourselves by accepting the revelation about Himself.

 Heaven, the dwelling place of God is not within this physical world.

We have a physical or atmospheric heaven. In Genesis 1:14 the bible speaks of the firmament of the heaven. This refers to the heavens filled with the stars. The place of God, angels and the spirits of just men which is also heaven is a spiritual state called the third heaven (2nd Corinth 12:2). Apostle Paul says it is not lawful to discuss certain matters of this place (2 Corinth 12:4)   Flesh and blood cannot make it to this place. John 3:3.

Now the amazing part of the heaven in the Spirit is a place that those of us who are born again can relate to, even now because we are part of the place

 Heb 12:22 KJV ” But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,”

The Lord said, he spoke to him about things of the earth. In this matter the Lord was referring to the process of the new birth and what takes place in the life of the one who is born again. All these, although are of the Spirit, happens on the earth in the lives of men. This is what the Lord said, if he is not able to believe, how will he believe those matters that are outside the natural plain. May we always humble ourselves to accept the word of God, in whatever form it comes to us. This is the only means to relate with all levels of realities as revealed by the scriptures.

Hebrews 12:23 KJV “To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,”

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 3:11 KJV “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.”

Man is always torn between accepting the truth or believing a lie. At creation, Adam and Eve his wife sadly accepted the lies of Satan and rejected the truth of God. The Lord Jesus, who is truth personified sat before lawyer Nicodemus yet He did not receive the truth but believed a lie. The Lord said the following to him: John 3:11 KJV” Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.” This unfortunately is the state of most men. The word says Satan is the Father of liars and so he has managed to deceive the whole world. Rev 12:9.

Satan and his angels are not powerful in comparing to God’s power, yet it seems they are in charge of everything. This is so because men believe the lies of the devil than the truth of God. The bible says men would believe the lies of the devil in the last days.

2Th 2:11 KJV “‘And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” Whenever men, live in fear and in hopelessness, then it simply means they have rejected the truth of the master and are believing the voice of the liar. The ‘whole world’ including some Christians are so much afraid of COVID 19. There is a difference between being preventive and being fearful.

 To be preventive is to obey the natural laws of safety without any subjective feeling of torment caused by fear.

It is always right to be preventive, but very wrong to be afraid.

 Fearfulness is a feeling of hopelessness with an inner torment. The child of God is never hopeless.

What has the Lord also said, that should make us also feel confident and safe? Psalms 91:4 KJV” He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” No one who   believes this statement would be in fear of the virus. Why do children of God also reject God’s word and believe the devil. We can get this answer by considering why Eve believed the devil. (Gen 3:1-7) Eve, after hearing the devil, placed her personal advantage or interest first before the Lord’s word. In that moment she, fell into the trap the enemy had set up, and so openly decided to act for her advantage. This is the way, even believers fall for the lies of the devil, and reject the truth, which is always meant for their blessing, healing, protection, promotion and many more.

 Dear child of God, we are not on this earth to seek our interest or advantage.

Our existence is to always bring pleasure to our dear heavenly father by doing what He tells us. Rev. 4:11. ” Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created”.

 THE TRUTH IS THAT EVERY LAW, INSTRUCTION, OR COMMAND OF GOD IS FOR THE LIBERATION OF MAN.

Dear child of God, always believe in the love, wisdom and power of God, to accept every word of God, no matter, whether it sounds reasonable or foolish.

At the commencement of the new year, lot and lots of well wishes for a good and prosperous new year will be flying through the airwaves to family and friends. It is a very good thing to wish one another well and even wish the best for yourself. Please note that no year brings anything on its own, rather it is the changed attitudes and actions that results in a changed lifestyle. It is said that, it is insane to do the same things and expect different results. Change or improvement in anything is always as a result of a positive change in one’s action. In Genesis 26, there was a very serious famine in the land. The Lord encountered Isaac and asked him not to go down to Egypt, but said the following to him:

Gen 26:3 KJV ” Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;”

  Isaac success or failure depended on his obedience to the instruction of the Spirit of God. Dear brother or sister your improvement in whatever endeavour depends on your obedience to the instruction of the Holy Spirit. As Christians, the Holy Spirit is our senior partner. He is our helper, guide, guard, Counsellor advocate. It is in doing the instruction of the Spirit that brings about a change in the state of that individual. Isaac was very obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Gen 26:12 KJV” Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.”

We can say that, for that year, Isaac was greatly blessed. He reaped a hundred percent of what he sowed. You can have a glorious year by doing what the Holy Spirit would teach you. The Spirit of God is ready to instruct you on a specific task as a Christian. Make sure you execute it with all the seriousness.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 3:9 KJV “Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?”

Nicodemus sat before the Lord as He spoke about the great things of the Spirit, yet, could not receive just one point. This could be deduced from his question to Jesus. How shall these things be.? He heard the master, the great miracle worker alright, yet He related to all that he said from a human point of view. He related to the Lord in his natural wisdom. The scriptures have revealed that man by wisdom cannot know God.1Co 1:21 KJV “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” You cannot receive any good thing from God, so long as you attempt to reason out how God works. Nicodemus asked, how can these things be?

The year 2021 is gradually coming to a close. What has been your experiences with God? The only means to enjoy the blessings of God is to believe Him. Do not be like Nicodemus who wanted to understand how the things of the Spirit functions. The bible shows us how to understand the things of the spirit.  Heb 11:3 KJV “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” The preceding verse says through faith, we understand.

Understanding the workings of God, is always a function of our faith. First believe what God says, you would understand Him.

Faith is the access into God’s world. It is a man’s decision to receive what God says without questioning. Man is a dependant being. He can never make it without God. Man over the years have tried to push God out of his life equations, but has always ended up the loser. God has an abundance of peace for the many who are languishing in rebellion and inner torment. Dear one do not enter the next year without submitting your soul into the master of your soul. Do not allow natural human reasoning to rob you of that wonderful blessing of God. The new year has prosperity for those who are ready to submit to the God of the year.

After the Lord had stated clearly that every man, wishing to see the kingdom of God must first be born again, He went on to explain the agents of this new birth. Now he describes the character of the man who is born again. The Lord compares him to the wind. He said the wind blows from wherever it wants, and goes to wherever it chooses. One may here It’s sound but can’t tell where it is coming from. The Lord meant anyone born of the Spirit is

 1.Unpredictable

2. He or she is unlimited. This also means nothing is impossible to him.

I wish to say that as Christians we should not live according to the experiences of men, but to match every experience with the word of God. If our experience falls short of scriptural standards, then we must stretch our faith further to match up.

The Christian or the Saint of God should not be dominated, manipulated or victimised under any condition. He is saved to be free. From every satanic, worldly or fleshly domination. Amplified Bible, Classic Edition put Philippians 4:13 this way ” I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. Hallelujah! Apostle Paul declares he has learnt to be sufficient in all things because of the Spirit of Christ in him, who strengthens him. One’s reaction in a particular situation determines whether he is being victimised or not.

 If a person rejoices in whatever situation he finds himself, then he is free from the tormenting effect of that condition.

We realised from our initial discourse that, the man born of the Spirit is not limited or restricted by whatever Satan may raise. It could be anything meant to destroy him, yet He stands and overcomes them. The life of our Lord Jesus demonstrated a man who could not be limited or restricted by anything whatsoever. No disease could stand before Him. The waters could not prevent Him from getting to His disciples (Matt 14). Death had no power to restrain Him. A man dead after four days was not enough to get Him, worrying or wondering what to do. He called the dead man back to life without touching or shaking the dead and bound man. Jesus expressed the real life of a man born of the Spirit. Throughout history there has been many men who have likewise demonstrated this life of a man born of the Spirit. Smith Wigglesworth, the uneducated plumber, turned preacher, was a man who proved that, this life of the Spirit is for real. Archbishop Benson Idahosa of Africa, also proved it. Many men of God in our times are proving it.

 It is not an impossible state to walk in or prove.

Let’s accept the word of God, and prove that, the life of a man born of the Spirit is a reality for every child of God.

 It is an indictment of the reality of the power of God for a man of God to be scared of coronavirus.

Indeed, a man born of the Spirit cannot be limited by any of these diseases.

John 6:29 KJV” Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”

KEY SRIPTURE: John 3:6 KJV “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Every man is first born of the flesh. That is the product of our mothers and fathers. Such a one is most likely controlled by his or her senses. He is called a natural man.1Co 2:14 KJV “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” Like Nicodemus, he could not figure out how a man could be born again. The natural man is dead towards God, and alive to the influence of devils. Eph 2:2 KJV “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:” The man of the flesh is lost in his sins. He must be born from above to be saved.

There are also, those who are born of the Spirit of God. Joh 1:13 says ” Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” The word born is at times misunderstood, when that birth is in relation to God. When the bible uses the word born, it also means, to proceed from God, as we have in 1 John 4:4. Now, 1 Corinth 6:17 says such people have one Spirit with God. They have the same Spirit as God. The apostle Paul explains how this happens. He said in Gal 2:20, ” I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Just consider how he presents it. He says, I am crucified with Christ. Although you see me living, it is no longer I, but Christ or the Spirit of Christ living in and through me. This is the reason the word says everyone born of the Spirit is a  Son of God (John 1:12,13).God is our real Father.

Our key scripture reminds us that, the man who is born of the flesh is flesh, and he that is born of the Spirit is spirit. The one born of the Spirit is a supernatural man. He is not supposed to live by the dictates of the flesh. He is a product of God’s word, and so lives by the word.

 This man born of God overcomes the world, because he lives by the word (1 John 5:4). According to Col 3:1,2, he sets his affections on things above. He must mortify or kill the appetites of the body, which includes fornication, inordinate affection, covetousness etc. This is done by renewing his mind about himself through the word of God. (Rom 12:2))

THOUGHT:  TO BE BORN OF THE SPIRIT AND TO LIVE BY THE SPIRIT, MAKES YOU A REAL MASTER IN THIS LIFE.

1John 5:4 KJV “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 3:5 KJV” Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

When the Lord told Nicodemus that unless he is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God, Nicodemus asked, how can an elderly man enter into his mother’s womb and be born a second time. This saying of such a worldly-wise man, reveals that any man without the spirit of God is stone dead to the reality of the things of the Spirit. We should not be surprised at how they view the children of God and in some occasions persecute the people of God. Dear Saint of God be very considerate with such people, love them, pray for them because they are in a very different world from ours. The Lord was talking about a new kind of birth, but this time through the power of God.

The Lord explained what the agents for this new birth is. He said unless one is born of water and the spirit, he cannot be born again. Some have explained that the water is water baptism. In 1Peter 3:21, apostle Peter explained that it is not the dipping into water that saves us, but the answer of a good conscience towards God. What is the answer of a good conscience? This is referring to the heart responding positively to the word of God. This point agrees with a number of scriptures.

1. 1 Peter 1:23;” Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

2. James 1:18 KJV “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.” Once again we see that it is the word of God that gave birth to us.

3.Eph 5:26 KJV “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”

This time the scripture shows that, the water refers directly to the word of God.

4 Rom 10:9 KJV That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

According to the scripture above, we believe in the WORD and confess with our mouth to be saved.

Secondly the scriptures say the Holy Spirit also plays a very, important role in this new birth experience. Titus 3:5 KJV “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost”. The Lord stated that the Holy Spirit is the agent of this new birth. He calls it being born of the Spirit. (John 3 :6)

Dear saints of Gid, we are born into the family of God by believing the good news about our Lord Jesus and then the Holy Spirit also gives us life as a result.

PRAYER

Thank you, heavenly father for giving us your only Son, Jesus Christ, who died on our behalf and took away all my sins. I confess that He is Lord of my life. I receive the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. I thank you Father for this new birth. I am a son of God and God is my father.

After Nicodemus had given his first remarks about Jesus, the Lord who knows the greatest need of man interjected with the following statement.

Joh 3:3 KJV “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. “Most Christians have a very poor understanding about this born-again issue. You are either a victorious or a defeated Christian depending on your right understanding of this born-again experience or either wise.

 Man is a Spirit who has a soul and lives within a body.

1 Thessalonians 5:23. When a man leaves the body, he is described as dead. James 2:26 KJV” For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also”. The spirit is the real you. Our parents gave birth to us with a spirit that came through them. That spirit of man, which we were born with is separated (Rom 5:12) from God and so subjected to the influence of Satan. Eph 2:2&3.It is also spiritually dead.

There is also an evil principle that works within our very spirit. It is called the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2. The product of this law is sin, wickedness, diseases of all kinds, fear anger of rage and an   absence of peace. This is the state of every man who has not made Jesus Lord of his or her life.

Now when one is born again, his or her spirit is completely recreated or regenerated Titus 3:5, Eph 2:10. Titus 3:5 KJV “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” At the moment one is born again his Spirit which is the real being is completely made anew or become newly created. The bible describes him or her as as a new creation (2 Corinth 5:17). It is created after the resurrected spirit of our Lord Jesus. Eph 1:19,20. This new man is not a renewal of the old, no. The old was buried with Jesus, and the new is THE SAME AS THE RESURRECTED SPIRIT OF JESUS.1 Corinth 6:17,Rom 6:5 KJV For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: (Read Gal 2:20).

Your spirit which is the life force of your being now comes from above. The word born again means born from above. YOU ARE NOW A SAINT. Your spirit has eternal life. John 3:16,1 John 5:11-13. Death has been abolished from your spirit, but life and immortality reigns in you now .2 Timothy 1:9,10.

Being born again is a miracle that takes place in your innermost being. It is not just turning over a new leaf. It is a complete change of the life force of your being. You become a son of God. Your former spirit was a product of your earthly father and mother, now GOD IS NOW YOUR REAL FATHER John 1:13. You can make the power within your spirit come into force through your faith and bold declaration of the mighty power at work in you. SIN, SICKNESSES, DEMONIC CONTROL ARE ALL THINGS OF THE PAST.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 3:2 KJV “The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.”

Many servants of God depend on their own efforts for significance and survival. Some may go to any length to win the favour of men of repute in the society. In our key scripture Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews or a lawyer, rather came to seek Jesus at a very odd hour. He could have come at such an hour, because he wanted to do it under cover or he came at that time, because he could not have been able to get the master, because He would be engaged in the Father’s business. In the night, that is after six o ‘clock when everyone was resting at home, that was when he could get the master. Nicodemus acknowledged that the miracles the Lord performed was a proof of God’s presence with Him. The Lord was not a man of the senses. He therefore put God first in all he did. Matthew 6:33 was the Lord’s secret. It says, seek ye first, the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Dear servant of God, what is your philosophy for serving Christ? Stop following the world’s way of doing things. Your own understanding would also do you no good (Prov 3:5-7). Do not make the arm of man your strength. The Lord Jesus focused his time on prayer and sharing the word. He pursued these things with every blood in Him. The scripture was duly fulfilled in Him. Every good thing chased Him. This is the better way to do ministry.

 It is not about, pursuing the necessities of this life or even manipulating people, but to diligently seek after God

Pleasing the father God must be the focus of our lives. (1Pe 2:9 KJV). We have been called out of darkness to show the praises of Him who called us into His marvellous light. We are His representatives on the earth and it must be our number one desire to honour Him in everything we do. This is the approach to serving Him, and it also brings a corresponding approval from Him. God approved of the Lord Jesus service. Acts 2:22 ” Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:” God will respond to everyone who honours His word. Remember that  Psalm 119 : 90 reveals that, the faithfulness of the Lord is unto all generations. Put the interest of God first.

 Serve Him with all your love and every good thing would follow you.

Our present world is gradually becoming a world controlled and directed by the media. The media dishes to us its type of Christmas and many saints of God do not see the subtle way it is turning the whole celebration from Christ to something else. It began with the name. They say X’MAS instead of Christmas. The word Christ is never X. Christ means the anointed one (who brought salvation to all mankind). The media also sing songs about Santa Claus. Who is he? Santa Claus is supposed to be an old big bearded man with lots of gifts for all. He knows all things, sees all things and is always with you. Dear children of God, what is that? This is a lie from the pit of hell. There is nothing like Santa Claus anywhere. The whole idea is to take the Lord of glory from His centre stage of the whole celebration to something else. Church of God we should be wide awake to the big lies of the devil in all that we do especially in this Christmas festivities. Reject anything that is not of Christ.

I hear certain Christmas carols that has nothing to do with Christ. Examples of them, is “my first day of Christmas my true love gave to me. “Where does Jesus, His birth and salvation come into this song.? There are others like ‘white Christmas’ and many other recent ones. Christmas basically is a big reminder of the incarnation, where God became man and brought hope, faith and love into reality. It is a reminder of God’s provision of solution to mankind many troubles. Our songs must ONLY be about this. There are some old good traditional carols, let’s sing such carols. If we make new ones, let it still be about Jesus and His entry into the planet earth to end the sorrow and slavery of men to Satan’s lies and pseudo power.

Ones again, what is Christmas? Christmas is a remembrance of the birth of Christ Jesus. He is God who became a man so He would raise sons of God like Himself John 1:12,13, Heb 2:10,11. It is the birth of the SUPERMAN, who came to raise other superman, by living through them and manifesting His glory through them Col 1:27, Gal 2:20. Jesus indeed succeeded in this great mission. He has brought life and immortality to light because of Christmas. And as the chorus of one of the beautiful Christmas carols go; “And man would live for evermore because of Christmas day”.

THOUGHT:  YOU ARE ONLY CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS IF CHRIST IS THE CENTER OF IT
