KEY SCRIPTURE: Genesis 6:2 KJV “That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.”

We continue with our study on Spiritual marriages. Spiritual marriage is a form of demonic harassment. Demons make use of the body of their host, making them miserable as well as bringing misery to others.

The following is an example of a lady I met who gave her experience with this issue of demonic marriages. She said when she was about nineteen years, she realized one night that a man slept with her in her dream. By the next morning, she noticed, she had developed a urinary tract disease. She has done all that she could do to treat this condition but to no avail. She visited the hospital for a solution, but no positive results. She tried herbalists yet it proved futile Meanwhile, this night visitor kept coming occasionally, and she could not resist it. She had a very difficult time with this being that she had no power to stop.

By the time I met her, she had been born again into Christ Jesus. After narrating her story to me, I told her as a Christian this must not go on, and it must stop immediately. I explained to her that she is the body of Christ, and bone of Christ bones and flesh of his flesh. A demon can’t marry Christ body. Secondly Colossians 1:13 says every Christian has been delivered from the dominion of darkness and has been translated into the kingdom of his Son. This means those devils can’t have authority over her.  Her face lightened up after this understanding. I prayed with her, and that was the end of that night husband and the end of the disease as well.

Dear child of God Jesus has made you free from these devils. You have been sealed with the Holy Spirit. This is a sign of total ownership and security by God. No demon of hell should have the right to mess your soul or body up. Refuse their activities from your life this moment

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit in me, He has sealed me. No devil has any access to me. I am delivered from every evil marriage and declare my absolute liberty in the mighty name of my Lord Jesus Christ.

Another form of demonic manipulation of men, is what has come to be known as spiritual marriage. From our key scripture, the Bible said, the sons of God took the daughters of men and married them. The term ‘sons of God’ means divine beings. Considering the word ‘took them wives…’ This means these divine beings came in the form of flesh and physically married these ladies. This form of marriage is a confusion. It is a defiling of God’s breed.

There is another form of spirits marrying humans. This is called spiritual marriage. Most of such Marriages are not physical, but mostly manifested in dreams. There are some, which are physical. I listened to a case where, the man will be sleeping on the bed with his wife, and a strange man comes at night to push the man to the ground and then would have an affair with the wife.

Some people get into this marriage through dedication to certain idols. Others marry mermaid spirits, because of the pursuit of power, popularity or prosperity. There are some who get into this through the internet connections, and with others it happens unknowingly. Please note every demon hate men. This kind of marriage is a means of expressing their lifestyle and evil programmes through such people. These marriages are not limited to spirit marrying women only, but they do marry men as well.

People in such Marriages have varying experiences. Some people lose their pregnancies after an affair with their spirit partners. Some experience serious setbacks after an affair. Certain married women are extremely troublesome to their husband’s and vice versa. Some people are even afflicted with diseases.  One common sign of anyone involved in a spiritual marriage is that, they are very quick and bad tempered.

Unfortunately, some Christians complain of having such spiritual marriages. This is wrong and should not happen. Listen to the following verse of scripture. Eph 5:30 KJV “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones”. As a Christian you are the body of Christ. How can a demon marry the body of Christ?

PRAYER

Thank you, heavenly father for your great and eternal redemption. I have been completely made free from every dominion of darkness. By my birth into Christ, I am one with Him and therefore superior to Satan and all devils. I am bone of Jesus bone and flesh of His flesh. No demon can and should be married to me. In the mighty name of Jesus, I severe every marriage right now and forever. Amen

Colossians 1:13. “The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,”

KEY SCRIPTURE 2 Samuel 12:10 KJV” Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife”.

From our key scripture, the Lord says because David did not honor Him, a sword, or in a more spiritual sense, a demon would stay in the family and create havoc. Many people have inherited many demonic problems proceeding from acts of forefathers that oppose God’s word.

The following is a list of some of the actions that invite demons to harass the descendants of that family.

1.Families that descended from executioners for kings (abrafour)

2.Idol worshipping families

3 Those whose forefathers covenanted with deities on behalf of the unborn generation.

4.Those whose birth came from negotiations with fetishes or witchdoctors

5.Children who were dedicated to idols.

6.Accidental contacts with demons that results in a covenant with them.

7.Those who have affairs(sexually) with occultic people.

8.Chieftaincy lineages that are deeply idolatrous

9.People who patronize witchdoctors, fetishes and Mallams.

There are many more acts that give devils access to attack that family line. I am bereft of space to do so now.

What is the relationship of these family spirits with Christians in that family line.? No Christian is subjected to any of these devils. (Col 1:13, Luke 10:19) These devils would try to attack the Christian, if they have the opportunity. The child of God must walk in the consciousness of his superiority over every devil. He must steadfastly resist the devil in faith (1 Peter 5:9). He must also walk in accordance to the word of God. Laziness may cost you dearly.

PRAYER

Father I pray for all Christians in families with demonic attacks. May they be more diligent to walk by the word and to resist the devil in all that he raises against them.

Mark 3:27 KJV” No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house”.

After King David had caused the death of Uriah and married Bathsheba (Uriah’s wife), the prophet Nathan was sent by the Lord to him, and exposed his sin to him. Prophet Nathan said by the Spirit of the Lord to David that, “the sword shall never depart from thy house…” The word sword literally meant there would be war and killings in his family. It also meant an evil spirit will be behind all the bloodshed and anarchy that would be taking place in his family. This is an example of the family curses that result in various setbacks, failure, diseases as a result of the sin of the fathers.

The following story is the experience of a young man who had the effect of this family curses or foundational problems.

HE said he was about to start his first semester, final year at University of Ghana. In his family no one had risen to that level in education. This made him feel very privileged. One night he had a dream that he was walking on a certain path, and all of a sudden, he was met by a very huge snake. This snake was about to attack him but he managed to run away. In another scene in the same night dream, he found himself playing basketball with a group of his friends. He wondered what the meaning of this dream was. In a few days the very friends he was playing with in the dream visited him and asked him to come along with them, to campus before school reopens to “chill”. He managed to convince his father to allow him to go. At the campus he found himself having an affair with one of the female students. According to him the lady consented. To his greatest surprise, this lady reported him to the school authorities, that he had raped her.

After the disciplinary committee had deliberated on the matter, he was sacked from the school. He could not start his final year enough to finish it. The spirit in the family that would not allow them to rise high in education had somehow managed to bring him down.

IF this young man had an understanding to some of these issues, he would have entered into serious prayers to stop that evil spirit. Dear child of God you must rise up to dethrone every negative trend in your family.

PRAYER

As a child of God, I have received authority to tread on serpents and scorpions in Jesus name. I would not allow any of them to hinder me from achieving what my God has ordained for me, I dethrone any evil spirit of resistance, failure or diseases in my family in Jesus name. Amen

Gen 27:40 KJV “And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck”.

Luke 10:19 KJV “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Exodus 20:5 KJV” Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;”

In addition to all that we have discussed in line with the above topic, we now look at   generational curses. As our key scripture reveals, God visits to the fourth generation, the sin of the fathers. The truth is that under this dispensation of Grace, the blood and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus has made all men guiltless, (2 Corinth 5:19). The devils know very well that our Lord Jesus does not count any of these offenses against us. When a great grandfather worshipped idols in some years ago. These devils will visit the punishment on subsequent generations. Christians in this family line are not left out by these evil entities. It behooves the Christian to exercise authority in prayer to stop these devils. Such demons are very unyielding, because they claim, you were in the   loins of that great grandfather and so you deserve to suffer whatever attacks they intend dishing out. Heb 7:10 KJV” For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchizedek met him”.

In the above scripture Levi who was a great grandson of Abraham, is said to have paid tithe to Melchizedek, when Abraham paid tithe to him, it is on this principle that devils would, want to attack any member of that family line. There are instances when the ancestors of certain people did some very heinous sins. These devils would still claim everyone in that lineage must suffer. The devil would not leave you out just because you gave your life to Christ. These devils know they ought not attack you, yet as lawless as they are, they would come against you all the same.

AS A Christian the Bible makes it clear you have been set free from any such satanic aggression. (Col 1:13) 1Peter 1:18 KJV” Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers”. It would be your responsibility to use these same scriptures to pray and dislodge these devils from perpetuating their evil activities against you. If you fail to do so, things may be very miserable with you.

CONFESSION

I am in Christ Jesus, and in Him, I am new creature, a kind that never existed. No Devil has the right to attack me, for I was redeemed from the traditions of my fathers. I am delivered from the dominion of darkness, and have been translated into the kingdom of the Son of God. In Jesus name I refuse every attack of these evil spirits.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Numbers 22:11 NET “Look, a nation has come out of Egypt, and it covers the face of the earth. Come now and put a curse on them for me; perhaps I will be able to defeat them and drive them out.”

The next point to look at in relation to how demons take control of the lives of people is when a curse is placed on them. A curse is defined as a solemn utterance intended to invoke a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something. From the definition curses invoke demons to cause harm or failure to others. No Christian must place a curse on others. It is an act of soliciting the help of devils to inflict destruction on others. Under the law, those who cursed others were stoned. Lev 24:14 NET “Bring the one who cursed outside the camp, and all who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the whole congregation is to stone him to death”.

From our key scripture   king Balak asked Balaam, a fortune teller to place a curse on the Israelites, so he and his people could defeat them. The curse was supposed to allow an evil spirit to take over them and limit their ability to win their battles. Christians are not supposed to be affected by such curses, because they are blessed (Num 22:12, Ephesians 1:3) Some Christians have been affected by such curses because, they created a doorway for the attack. Such doorways include unforgiveness, immoral lives, fear, that is expressed through negative words. (Eccl 10:8) For example in Job 3:25, Job said. “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.

Some Christians unfortunately have suffered various degrees of demonic destruction and harassment as a result of such curses.  AS I said earlier no Christian must suffer in such a way. The way out is to live in obedience to the word of God. Keep the word of faith in your mouth, declaring that God is your defense and that no enchantment nor divination can affect you in any way. Declare also that you are blessed and can’t be cursed. Anyone who curses you is cursed and anyone who blesses you is blessed.

CONFESSION

 I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in Heavenly places in Christ. He that is blessed cannot be cursed. I bear the name of the Lord, and so He blesses me. I walk by grace and live by the power of the Spirit. None of the activities of evil people can affect me in any way.

Numbers 22:12 KJV” And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 5:14 KJV “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

The Lord Jesus healed an impotent man, who had laid by the pool of Bethesda for as many as thirty-eight years without any deliverance. The Lord met him in the temple and made the following statement to him.” Behold, thou has been made whole, sin no more lest a worse thing come upon you. Sin is the major grounds for demons to enter a person’s life and create havoc.  Sin is a willing act of a man that says no to God, but yes to the devils.

Sin does two things in the man.

1 Sin is a rebellion against God.

2 Sin defiles the man who commits it.

When one confesses his sin according to 1 John 1:9, God forgives the sin which is a rebellion and cleanses the sinner from the defilement. When an individual has separated himself from God through rebellion and has been defiled, demons would naturally come to him if he stays long in that condition. Mat 24:28 NET “Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.”

 Wherever sin is, there will the demons be.

People of occultic associations are made to commit grievous sins, like murder, incest, homosexuality, and many more so their demons would fill them fully. Certain acts like fornication in any form, is an act of worship to Satan. These things go on in satanic temples. No Christian must get himself into sin of any form. Remember the Lord Jesus died because of our sins. (Galatians 1:4) He did this to deliver us from devils. If you go back and live in sin you give yourself freely into the hands of these devils from whom you were set free

CONFESSION

Sin does not have dominion over me. I am alive unto God and I live by the power of his spirit. I am a master over devils, and will not allow myself to be controlled by them in anyway. Thank you, Lord Jesus.

Gen 4:7 NET “Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.”

Judges 2:13 Net” They abandoned the LORD and worshiped Baal and the Ashtars. The LORD was furious with Israel and handed them over to robbers who plundered them. He turned them over to their enemies who lived around them. They could not withstand their enemies’ attacks”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 10:1 KJV. And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of diseases.

The scriptures continuous to reveal that the Christian has been given authority over devils, to cast them out. This point must be very clear to the Christian because demons have the very nature of their master, the devil. He is a murderer to the core. His modus operandi is through lies. (John 8:44) These devils’ ability to lie makes it very necessary on the part of the Christian to be very vested with the truth. The Lord by His example leaves no doubt in the minds of all people that demons must always be stopped from going on with their evil agenda. This desire of the Lord Jesus to see demons stopped, establishes His unyielding love for all mankind. No one should be under the tribute of Satan and his demons under any condition.

Apostle Paul knowing these things prayed for the brethren in Ephesus, including all believers in all generations, that their eyes of understanding might be enlightened to know: the following, Ephesians 1:19

And so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength. This power in us is the very power the Father exerted in resurrecting Jesus from the dead. The scripture says the power in us is immeasurable, unlimited, surpassing greatness of his power in us who believe.

Dear child of God, you are simply amazing and wonderful. May your eyes be opened to know what you have. This power can be manifested through us as we believe the word given to us. Believing the word is the means of possessing the power. The power is released as we boldly declare or say it. If in this very moment any devil is demonstrating any of his works in your life or the life of a loved one, just boldly command that devil to lose it hold over the individual’s life. Let nothing frighten you. Release God’s power by speaking the word in faith.

CONFESSION

The Lord Himself has endorsed my authority over every devil. In the name of Jesus every knee bows. No evil spirit shall have dominion over me under any condition. No evil shall befall me. I will continue to trample upon them in Jesus name.

Every believer in Jesus who has been born again has absolute authority over the devil and his demons. We have the authority to cast them out. Now authority is the right to command and be obeyed. Power is the ability to act or effect a change. Every Christian has inherited the authority and power of our Lord Jesus. The Christian is an extension of Jesus on the earth. We are on this earth in His name. This is the reason when Jesus encountered Saul on the road to Damascus, He said to Saul (later became Paul), why are you persecuting me?

We are His representatives. The very Spirit or the anointing that lived in Him, and gave Him the ability to function on the earth, now resides in the Christian. (Col 1:26,27).

The power of the devil is darkness. The power that functions in the believer is light. Light will forever dominate darkness (this is the reason the Christian should never entertain any form of sin or unbelieve in his life) John 1:5 KJV” And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not”. Note: Any moment a Christian fear the devil and any of his works, he cast a blanket of darkness on himself and the light in him, or he introduces darkness into his life. This gives the devil an easy access to the life of the Christian to do whatever he wishes.

The Christian is God’s mouth piece on the earth. The Lord Jesus has bound Himself with His words to honor and bring to pass any demand the Christian makes in His name. John 14:13 KJV “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son”. We do not fight with demons, we cast them out. (Mark 16:17) Stop crying over any evil works of demons against you and rather stop them with the authority in you.

CONFESSION

I am the Lord’s mouth piece on the earth. I am Light in this earth. I bear the name of Christ and have the right to use His name. I have absolute authority over Satan and his demons No devil can stop or resist my authority.

Matthew 28:18 KJV “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”

March 16:15 KJV” And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”

KEY SCRIPTURE: Mark 16:17 KJV” And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”

The Lord stated the identification signs for those who would believe in the gospel in Mark 16:15-18. One of the signs is that they would receive power to cast out devils. Every Christian is a candidate to cast out or expel devils from people. Unfortunately, a number of Christians have not been successful in this ministry. As the disciples asked Jesus in Matt17:19

 “Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, why could not we cast him out? “The Lord answered them,” because of your unbelieve”. Faith in God and His word is the fundamental condition for casting out devils.

One may have titles attached to his name yet cannot cast out a fly, it takes a child of God with a simple childlike trust in God’s word to deal with these devils. The scripture said submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Faith is submission to God. A man of consistent prayer would also see success in dealing with devils. The truth is, a consistent prayer life creates an aura of God’s presence that increases one’s confidence in God and in His word. The Lord spoke about fasting as well. Just as prayer would create an atmosphere of a close relationship with God, adding fasting would increase that awareness.

There is also a class of people who easily deal with these devils. These are people with a special calling or divine appointment. These are men and women with ministerial gifts like, apostles’ prophets, evangelists, Pastor’s and teachers. This ability to cast out devils is more profound with apostles, prophets and evangelists. Among all these offices the underlining condition is the individual’s relationship with the Lord. Success in any area of ministry is as a result of one’s relationship with the Lord. John 15:4 KJV” Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me”.  Your strong relationship with Jesus cements an effective ministry in whatever form it may be.

CONFESSION

Jesus, you are my heart longing and commitment. I live to please you and to bring honor and glory to your name. My works are only a product of that close relationship. Be glorified in my life o Lord.

Mark 3:14-15,”. And He appointed twelve to continue to be with Him, and that He might send them out to preach [as apostles or special messengers]. And to have authority and power to heal the sick and to drive out demons:”
