KEY SCRIPTURE :1 John 3:3 KJV “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure”.

The hope of the Lord’s return is a very important factor for a Christian’s stability and an upright life. There is no Christian who has the hope of the Lord’s return who would live anyhow. The scripture said, such a one will purify himself even as He is pure. The coming of the Lord has so many things to inspire us unto a very serious and committed life. 2Peter 3:11 KJV “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,”. We have to distinct ourselves in all that we do.

Now what are some of the things that His second coming would bring to us?

1.The first thing that the coming of the master would bring us is the great marriage supper with the bride or the church. (Matt 26:29)

2. There would be   the separation of the sheep from the goat, or the righteous from the sinners. Matthew 25:33. And He will cause the sheep to stand at His right hand, but the goats at His left. Everyone who is not born again is a goat including those who claim to be born again, yet Jesus is not Lord of their life in practice. Every person who is born again, and indeed Jesus is Lord of his life is a sheep. The goat will be cast into the lake of fire and the sheep would be accepted into glory.

3. At His coming believers would be rewarded and crowned for their works. Everyone’s works would be judged according to his or her motives. (1st Corinth 3:13)

4. There is a crown of righteousness for all those who would love to see Him come (2nd Timothy 4:8)

5. There would be a crown of life for all those who endure temptation to the end. (James 1:12)

6 Shepherds who serve well shall receive a crown of glory (1 Peter 5:4)

7. The souls we have won would also be crowns for us (Phil 4:1,1st Thessalonians 2:19)

The coming of our Lord has so much to bring to us. These crowns would determine your status in the heavenly kingdom. In the light of all these what kind of persons are you going to be? There is a certainty of His coming, and so live in readiness of His coming. This is the essence of having on the helmet of salvation.

Dear heavenly Father, I pray that the Holy Spirit would stir in me a desire and an awareness of the second coming of the Lord. I pray for the church of God as a whole to live in the light of the second coming of Jesus.

Our reason for going through these studies is to raise strong and healthy Christians. A strong Christian would stand for God in all His dealings. He does not give in to the dictates of the flesh, to walk in sin. Such a person lives daily to obey what the word says. He also lives out various Christian disciplines like, daily quiet time, prayer, fellowship with other Christians, fasting, giving and a sincere love for the brethren. He is an ardent soul winner. A strong Christian, lives with heaven on his mind. He is cautious of the fact that He must act rightly all the times, so that he would be ready to meet the Lord whenever he comes for the saints. This is a picture of a man who is strong in the Lord.

The next part of the Armour to put on, is the helmet of salvation. Let’s look at what the following verse says about it. 1Thessalonians 5:8 KJV “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation”. This explanation by apostle Paul shows us what the helmet of salvation is, and is supposed to do. The phrase ‘Hope of salvation’ refers to the believer’s hope of the coming of our Lord to finally end all human pain and sorrows. Revelations 21:4 KJV “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away”. This is our hope

Hope is something one anticipates or expects to happen. As an helmet, it is meant to protect the head. In times of trials and grave difficulties that the believer may be going through, the hope for a glorious end keeps him strong to go through the trials. He has an assurance that everything would be over. Hope is very important for a child of God against all distresses due to persecutions and wickedness of men. Put on the helmet of salvation all the time. The Lord is indeed coming back again, and every child of God must live in anticipation of His glorious return, to receive us unto himself. Any Christian without this hope has no helmet on his head and would be an easy prey for the devil.

Dear heavenly father, I put on the helmet of salvation, which is a hope for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ My life is full of joy because I know that I have a glorious end, no matter the persecutions that the enemy may raise against me.

Romans 8:24 KJV” For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

KEY SCRIPTURE: Romans 3:27 KJV “Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of FAITH”.

There is a law of faith as stated in our key scripture. In this context, a law is a principle that will deliver or function when the parameters for its operation are in place or applied. This law of faith is clearly stated in the fourth chapter of the book of Romans.

The law of faith functions on the following terms:

1.There must be a statement or promise from the mouth of God that your faith must be based.

In Abraham’s case God said, Romans 4:17 KJV (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

God said he had made him the father of many nations. This was the word on which his faith was based. In your case find the scriptural promise that speaks about what you desire.

2. You must believe that word. Abraham believed God’s promise. Believing in what the father says makes you justified. Romans 10:10a ” For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. Note also that, this believe is in the heart, and not the head.

3. Confess that what God has said is established before the answer would materialize or manifest.

Abraham started calling himself the father of many nations. Abraham used to call himself Abram which means exalted father for twenty-four years and nothing happened. In the very year he started calling himself the father of many nations the wife became pregnant. When he used to confess the name Exalted father, that is Abram, he was not declaring the answer, but saying something else. Note: God calls those things which be not as though they were.

If you were sick and have believed the scripture that says Himself took our infirmities and bore our diseases, start saying he has taken your diseases and so you are healed. It goes for every other thing you seek to get. (Mark 11:23,24)

4. Start acting that you have the answer.

In the case of Abraham, He gave glory to God. He said something like, I am the father of many nations, glory be to God, and everything   concerning me is well.

Faith must always behave by confessing the answer and acting the answer. When this is done your faith would yield results for you.

I believe every promise of God concerning my desire is established. I am blessed in every way. In Jesus name I have whatever I requested. I am healthy, and prosperous.

Mark 11:23 KJV” For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.

The place of faith in the life of the Christian is extremely important. Evangelist R W Shambach of blessed memory used to say, you don’t have any problem, all you need is faith. Your faith in God is a high virtue to maintain. In the light of this I wish to say that there is nothing that can weaken the faith of a man as sin in his life.  Strong faith is a function of love. Sin in the life of a man means his or her love for God is very low and therefore cannot have strong faith. This is the reason the word of God counsels us to put sin aside before attending to the word of God (2nd Peter 2:1&2).

Faith is always a product of the word of God. Rom 10:17 KJV “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. Give an undivided attention to the word. Read it, study it, listen to the messages of anointed men of God. Learn from those with proven results in faith and follow their example (Heb 13:7). Keep doing and practicing what the word of God says. Do not act against the word. Faith grows with practice.

The word says resist the devil in faith. Do the same (1st Peter 5:9) When you command a situation to change, accept in your heart that it has changed and don’t worry about the symptoms that may be hanging around. (Jonah 2:8,Mark 11:23,24) Approach God’s word like a little child and you would see God’s approval on your actions((Matt 11:25)The wise and prudent of this world cannot experience the power of the word because human reason does not accept the wisdom of God,  because it is spiritually understood. (1st Corinth 2:14). Your faith in God will keep growing as you trust God and act on His word. Use your faith to quench every fiery arrow of the wicked.

CONFESSION

My faith is my confidence in God and his word. I receive it as a little child trusts his father. I keep my conscience clear of any hidden sins, therefore my heart is pure towards my father, ever ready to do what He says. O what a wonderful life of trusting God.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 28:20 KJV “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the WORLD”. Amen.

Our key scripture has a very important instruction to give us, yet I would want us to consider the second aspect of the verse, that says “lo l am with you always, even unto the end of the age”. This statement our Lord made is not a promise. If he had said I will be with you, then that could be described as a promise. In the scripture he says,” I am with you”. This is a present continuous statement. It is a declaration of a fact not based on any condition. He is presently with you. Never, never ask Him to be with you. That is a big sign of unbelief. Rather affirm that He is with you always.

Jesus the holder of tomorrow, says He is with you. Jesus as the king of Kings never walks alone. He has an entourage of angels accompanying Him. If He says He is with you, then you have angels all around you as well. These angels are ministering spirits called to minister or serve us the heirs of salvation. Hebrews 1:14. You will never walk alone. You are not facing any challenge alone. You have unseen beings with you to help you do your various assignments, studies at school, write your examinations etc. They are there to protect you from danger. Approach every task with lots of confidence and with a mind to come out with the best output. Have an excellent attitude, to produce the best works, because as a child of God you are heavily assisted. Ask the Holy Spirit who is with you in the name of Jesus to always help you do your best. You would get the best from life by giving your best.

With the Lord ‘s assurance of His presence never speaks failure or defeat. Your thoughts coupled with your words create your experiences in life. With His presence, believe in the possibility of every good thing and call those things into being. You would get what you say in faith. Isaiah 44:26 KJV” That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; ‘God shall confirm your words spoken in faith. Your world is created by your words, according to Hebrews 11:3. You are a success. and has overcome every negative power. Whatever you engage to do shall be successful. You would not die but live to declare the goodness of the Lord. I declare you healed from any disease that has tormented you in the past years. Have a great year and put smiles on the faces of others.

Hebrews 1:14 KJV” Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”

Hebrews 13:5 KJV” Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee, So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:16 KJV “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

THIS key scripture is very significant. It starts with the following words, “ABOVE ALL”. It seems to suggest that faith is above all. By it you quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. A fiery dart is an arrow carrying fire on the edge, which would most likely explode at the point of impact. The SHEILD of faith would stop or quench the fire and the arrow together. The shield is an armor for the other armors. It can protect the heart, thus shielding the breastplate of righteousness. It can be raised above the head to protect the head with the helmet of salvation. Faith in God brings the integrity of God to bear on any situation one acts in trust of God’s word.

What is faith. Faith is to believe that whatever God says is true and that you are ready to commit yourself to it. Faith is confidence in the word of God. Heb 10:35 KJV “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward”. Your faith is a supernatural force that rules over every natural condition. Faith is a universal currency that holds same value anywhere, if rightly delivered. Hebrews 11:1 KJV” Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.

One’s ability to do real exploits in this life depends on how ready he or she will use his faith. The Lord said in Matt 17:20, that if one has faith as a grain of mustard seed, he or she can say to a mountain to be moved from one point to another and it shall be done. You can’t imagine what your faith would do for you, if you would put it into action. From these scriptures we realize faith has both defensive and offensive properties. It can stop the onslaught of the wicked as well as getting a lot of things done. Faith is a real weapon if developed and used well can indeed make one very strong in the Lord. Your life would be colorful according to how much you apply your faith.

I always carry my shield of faith to quench every fiery arrow of the enemy. By my faith I also do great exploits for God, taking territories for the Lord

KEY SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:15 KJV” And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace”;

Shoes protect our feet from being beaten by dangerous reptiles and comforts the feet in very rough terrains and help you to move faster. Evangelizing the world is the heartbeat of the father. In the fourth chapter of John the Lord Jesus asked his disciples to go and get some food for his team. They came back and he said to them. Joh 4:31 & 32 KJV” In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of”. Jesus as the will of God reveals how God feels when souls are saved. As Jesus said His food was to see souls saved. God our father really gets satisfied when souls are saved. It is a special food to give our divine Father. He is satisfied or filled to see men saved.

The Lord said in John 15:8 KJV that “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so, shall ye be my disciples”. He says saving souls glorifies the father and we become His disciples indeed. Dear child of God you cannot afford not to win souls. Just listen to what apostle Paul says in 1Corinth 9:16 KJV “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” The word woe means things that cause sorrow and distress. You are shoeless if you do not evangelize the lost. Your life is in serious weakness as a Christian if you do not evangelize and when the lost.

Dear child of God, you would be surprised the level of impact you would even make in other aspects of your life by committing yourself to winning the lost. When the Lord walked on this earth, He used Peter’s canoe to preach and afterwards, He led Peter to catch a record catch that could never be matched by any catch that he had ever made. (Luke 5:1–7). Your life cannot go down when you partner the Lord in winning men who are lost. You have a special angelic supervision and protection over your life when you team up with the Lord in winning the lost (Luke 12:8)

I am a soul winner. It is a great security in all aspect for me to be a soul winner. It is shoes on my feet, angelic presence to help me always and a special promotion from the Lord in everything I do.

Our major topic of discussion is being strong in the Lord. We have realized that a weak Christian is an easy prey for Satan. One of the weapons provided by the Holy Spirit to be worn by the believer is the preparation of the gospel of peace and actually sharing this gospel(   Eph 6:15 KJV And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;)  The Bible says  doing it is a way of shoding your feet or in simple terms putting on   sandals to go through this life’s journey. Why do we need to get sandals on our feet? The Bible says we live in an evil world or in a dark world, filled with demons, described as snakes and scorpions (Luke 10:19). Your life is in big trouble if you do not have on your feet a proper sandal. Many Christians are suffering various kinds of injuries, because they do not have any sandals. This sandals according to the Bible is to prepare yourself with the gospel of peace and also share this message to the lost. (Eph 6:15)

YOU must be stabilized in the gospel as a Christian. The gospel of our Lord Jesus is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who will believe (Rom 1:16). The gospel is the prime answer to the human problem. Man’s basic problem is spiritual death (Romans 5:12). Spiritual death is a separation of the Spirit of God from the spirit of man. Physical death is a separation of the spirit of man from his body (James 2:26) Spiritual death is the cause of every negative thing happening to man. This include, sin, diseases, poverty, demonic bondage and all the negative things that assail humanity. The gospel takes away spiritual death. 2Timothy 1:10 KJV “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” Praise the Lord The gospel teaches that our Lord Jesus through his death has abolished death and has brought life and immorality to light. The gospel has dealt an eternal blow to man’s greatest problem, that is spiritual death. Death has been abolished by the death of Jesus. He has brought life, that is eternal life. Now sin has been over powered. Sickness no matter its form or name have been destroyed to the root. (Isaiah 53:4&5) Poverty has lost its shackles on men. Gal 1:4 says Jesus has given himself and has delivered us from this present evil world.

 BE established in the truth of the gospel. Unfortunately, many Christians have not prepared themselves or established themselves with the gospel. They do not believe the totality of the gospel. By faith in the gospel sin should not rule you. Sickness must not destroy your life. Poverty should not torment your life. Dear child of God, get established in the gospel. It is your shoes worn in this life’s journey, without this shoes snakes and scorpions could easily attack you. You cannot effectively give what you don’t have. This gospel came to answer man’s questions. Believe it my dear one, and act on it. This is the message of peace to all mankind.

My Lord Jesus died for my sin, was resurrected to give me life, took away my sicknesses by his stripes was made poor on the cross that I might be rich and became sin that I might become the righteousness of God. I believe it and I am free in Jesus name.

Galatians 1:4 KJV” Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father”:

John 3:16 KJV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

KEY SCRIPTIRE: 2 Corinth 6:7 KJV” By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,”

RIGHTEOUSNESS IS INDEED A WEAPON. Our key scripture says it is an Armour on the left and the right. Every child of God must make up his or her mind to live righteously. The righteous are as bold as a lion. Lions are creatures of resolve. That is, they have no mercy on the enemy whatsoever. They fear nothing and no one. Proverbs 30:30 KJV “A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;” The righteous man is spiritually very strong and has fear for nothing. Fear has torment and very destructive. Fear is one of the first spirits Satan introduces into the life of the Christian. If it succeeds in settling in the heart, the rest of the devils just follow suit. Righteousness secures you from fear.

It is amazing how certain Christians can tell lies at the slightest condition. The scripture said we grow up to be like Jesus in all things as we speak the truth. Eph 4:15 KJV “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:” Just consider this analogy, if we speak the truth at all times and that helps us to grow up to be like Jesus in all things, then speaking lies would cause you to grow up to be like the devil in all things. This is very serious. Don’t tell lies. Satan would have the upper hand in your life if you speak lies, for he is the father of lies. . Some Christians involve themselves in all forms of self gratifications. We are not slaves to the flesh to live after its dictates. We are in the spirit and must live by the ability of the spirit. Issues of righteousness relates more to the way we think and what we think about. Sanitize your thoughts. Do not allow all kinds of unscriptural thoughts to parade in your mind. Refuse any wrong thought, and if it seeks to persist resist it steadfastly.

It is too fatal for the Christian to be unrighteous. It can cause you eternal damnation in hell fire. We are not automatically in heaven as Christians. We have to work out our ultimate salvation with fear and trembling. It will take our righteous walk to achieve that. Put on the breastplate of righteousness by deciding to lead a righteous life under all circumstances. Without it you become a fatality going somewhere to happen. May you forbid that in your case. May the Spirit of the Lord continually stir up a sense of living right to God’s glory always. Amen

I am the righteousness of God. I live a life of righteousness. My heart is fully protected from any onslaught of the enemy. I am very strong in the Lord doing exploits to his glory.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:14 KJV” Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness”;

God is holy and would have nothing to do with sin. Satan’s easiest onslaught is against the man that iniquity is found in him or her. Righteousness according to our key scripture is placed on the breast or on the heart. The Lord said in Mark 7:21& 22  “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: He added, these are the things that defile the man. All these sinful acts come from the heart. The prophet Jeremiah also said the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked, who can tell. (Jeremiah 17:9. An unrighteous heart has willingly submitted himself or herself to Satan. This makes it extremely important to guard the heart against any intrusion of the devil.

During the journey of the people of Israel to the promised land Balak the king of Moab hired Balaam a prophet to curse the Israelites for them, so they could easily overpower them. When Balaam tried all that he could do. The Lord said the following to him Num 23:21 KJV “He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them”. The Lord added the following. Num 23:23 KJV “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! “The prophet said God has not beheld iniquity in Jacob neither has he seen perverseness in them and so no divination or enchantment can prevail over them. Satan will not prevail over you. Your heart must be guarded with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 2:23. Righteousness is the best way to guard the heart.

There are two parts to righteousness.

1.Righteousness which comes to us as a gift from God and

2. Righteous living, which is living out that Righteous nature given to us as a gift from God

To effectively live out the Righteous lifestyle you must first understand what the gift of righteousness is. At our new birth or when we were born again, we received the very nature of God. This made us new creatures with the very life and nature of the father. (2nd Corinth 5:17&18) We became children of the most high. Our father is a Righteous God. He shared His nature with us. 2Corinth 5:21 KJV For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him”. This was the divine exchange that took place on the cross. Jesus became us, and He took on our sinfulness and we took on His righteousness. The Spirit calls us the righteousness of God. If we have become the righteousness of God then we must manifest a life of righteousness. Doing things rightly is our nature and must be seen in us. We are righteous by faith and must demonstrate righteousness by actions or works as well. Anything short of this will expose you to an arrow of the enemy. Psalms 11:2 KJV “For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily(secretly) shoot at the upright in heart” .The arrow of the wicked is already pointed to the heart of the upright. Now listen to the question the psalmist asked right afterwards. Psalms 11:3 KJV “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”. If the foundation of living an upright life is destroyed what would the Righteous do? Do not destroy your foundation. It is your righteousness. Keep to it. If you have let down on it then quickly repent and get it repaired so the enemy cannot get to your heart. The heart is so delicate. If the enemy should get your heart hell may become your home.

CONFESSION

I guard my heart with the breastplate of righteousness. I am righteous by birth. Righteousness is my nature. I do not walk in sin or disobedience to the Word of God. I am therefore always victorious over the enemy. I am made very strong in the Lord.
