THE LORD WILL ALWAYS COME THROUGH FOR YOU.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 14:24-25 (KJV).  “But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.”

When the disciples of the Lord were sailing to their destination, the Bible said the waves were against them and they were tossed by the winds. They were in a very critical state. The irony of this case is that it was the Lord who asked them to go on the ship. In certain life challenges, one may be in the will of God, doing what the word says, yet adversity may arise. It may be a life-threatening situation, yet never despair. This condition was a satanic work that came to challenge the word the Lord gave to them. Amid all the troubles they were going through the Lord had seen it and decided to come to them and calm down that situation for them. The Lord came to them at the fourth watch. This was about 3 am. He will come irrespective of the moment.

The Lord came to them walking on the water, the very problem that was threatening their lives. Why didn’t the Lord pray for them at His moment of prayer, but had to come personally? He walked on the water to them because He was demonstrating the following points to them.

1.He would never leave them and us to face any crisis alone. He would always be present to see us through Heb 13:5.

2.He demonstrated that He would always watch over His promise to perform it. Jer 1:12 NHEB “Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well; for I watch over my word to perform it.” The Lord asked them to go on a ship and had to make sure they got to the end of their journey.

3.He also showed that he was a master over every problem, as he walked over the water, which was their problem at that moment.

What must we do in moments of trial?

1. To be rest assured of His presence with you always. Matt 28:20

2. Never be worried about any crises you may be going through. Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

3. Ask him for answers or speak to the situation to submit to you in Jesus’ name and thank him for answering you. Mark 11:23.

CONFESSION

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your ever-abiding presence. Thank you, Lord, that, because you are in me, I overcome every challenge.

THE LORD’S ASSURANCE

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 28:20 KJV “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

The Lord never commissions without committing Himself to the one He has sent.

In Mark 16:20 the scripture reads ” And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” This account is fully expressed in the Acts of the APOSTLES. The Lord never forsook them. He says the same word of assurance to us, and He does the same way of approving their acts of obedience. The Lord is faithful and will always honour His word.  Heb 13:5 KJV “Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

The scripture quoted above has an emphasis on the never. It reads, not at all or no never, no never. This is a very strong assurance of His commitment to be by us always. He even adds a time duration. He says until the end of the age. The implication of this is that if you are to speak or do anything on His behalf, and in His name, you should be assured of His full backing. This assurance should help the church act more in faith without any fear whatsoever, knowing He would not dishonour His own word. If you have to pray for a terribly sick condition, give no place to fear or wonder about what may happen. Always remember this slogan. WHEN THE LORD COMMISSIONS, HE COMMITS HIMSELF.

This thought brings us to the point of never asking the Lord to be with you. Such a prayer shows a high level of ignorance or unbelief. May we copy the Lord’s example in John 16:32. He said, His disciples will scatter and leave Him, yet He was never alone, because the Father was ever with Him.

How can one maintain a consciousness of the Lord’s presence? You can do it by practicing the Lord’s presence always. You always create a mental picture of His presence with you. You may start this in your quiet time and your times of meditation. You then do it wherever you are. This is one of the greatest assets you can build into your consciousness.

CONFESSION

Jesus is with me always. I am one with His Spirit and so He lives within my being. He eats with Him and meets every challenge with me. I am never alone. He always honours my actions in His name.

JESUS IS AFFECTED BY WHAT AFFECTS US.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Mat 10:40 KJV He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Our key scripture states that whosoever receives any of the Lord’s children receives Him.  This truth has two aspects of benefits to it. Those who would be positively affected, as well as those who would be negatively affected by it. It also reveals the strong ties we have with the Lord. The Lord said in the proceeding verse that anyone who receives a Christian receives the Lord himself, and subsequently receives the Father also. This implies every one of us must endeavour to give the best treatment to any child of God we encounter. It is also applicable to all persons who may not be Christians, for everyone is made in the image of God. The Lord added that there is a big reward for any brother or sister who kindly attends to any child of God. Matt 10:42 KJV “And whosoever shall give unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.” The Lord taught us that whenever we are kind to anyone because he is a disciple or a child of God, we will be rewarded for it.

Some brethren treat their house helps and boys, like trash. This is very dangerous to you. It is the Lord you are mishandling that way. Some people speak so much evil against servants of God without knowing much about them. Some Christians would never give any help of any kind to those who need it. Now just consider this, if being kind to persons because they are disciples, brings so many rewards, then what would happen to those who are terrible to the children of God?

The child of God is a member of the body of Christ and so failure to discern that this person is the body of Christ brings unnecessary challenges to you. 1 Corinth 11:29, says.” For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.” To discern means to distinguish, to set apart, or to be aware. To treat a fellow Christian with preference and dignity. is a rare opportunity for you. The scripture taught that those who fail to discern the body of Christ, are sick, and weak and some even die because they failed to discern the body of Christ, of which that brother or sister you may be mishandling is part of (1 Corinth 11:30).

The married home is a place where many Christians are seriously failing in these matters. Each party may carry a grudge because of an OFFENCE. They may insult, beat up their partner, or deny them certain courtesies because they feel hurt.  The Lord said if you do it to one of the least of my brethren, you have done it to me. May we always treat all persons with dignity and respect?

CONFESSION

God’s children are all very special to Him. I attend to everyone with love and respect, knowing that they are part of the body of Christ.

JESUS LEADS US

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 10:4 KJV” And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.”

Our key scripture shows us how we walk with the master. He leads as we follow. He does not stay behind pushing us to move on as the Fulani herdsmen do. Our Lord leads us with His word. Psalms 23:3 KJV” He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” No child of God ought to be in the dark concerning the ways of God. He never leads us into error, failure, or destruction. It may seem we are entering into danger or trouble, yet so long as He is leading, then it would be alright in the long run He led the whole congregation of Israel’s population to the Red Sea. This appeared like a mistake, yet it was their deliverance.

Someone said God would lead you around but will lead you right. Our part is to locate where He is going or walking and follow suit. The scripture says He goes before us. This means no matter how fearful a condition or situation may appear; our Lord Jesus is the one confronting the thing. Psalms 114:3 KJV “The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.” The Red Sea was divided because it saw the Lord who was leading them. So long as His word tells us to follow or go forward, there should be no turning back. We are rather defeated when we turn back. The scripture says the Lord never leaves us, even when there seems to be no victory in sight. Isaiah 43:2 KJV” When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”

Dear child of God, may you resolve to keep moving forward in line with the Lord’s promise. If He gave His word, then the word cannot fail because He is with you. Isaiah 43:2 says in the water He is with us, the rivers would not overwhelm us, neither would He leave us when passing through the fire. The fire would never consume you. Dear one, just keep going forward. In moments of trial, let the following be your words” The Lord is with me, for He is leading me with His word. So long as I have His word, He is with me, and victory is already mine in Jesus’ name. Glory be to God.”

CONFESSION

My Lord Jesus leads me in His path of righteousness. I am not moved by what I see. I only believe and so that seemingly impossible situation is turned into a miracle for me.

JESUS IS PRESENT IN THE GATHERINGS OF THE CHURCH

KEY SCRIPTURES: Matthew 18:20 (KJV). “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

The church of God which means, ‘the called-out ones’ is the physical representation of the body of Christ. The Lord is always in His body, to work through it, AND He is with His body, to protect and defend it. He says when we meet in His name, He is always with us. Many of us wished the Lord was physically present with us, yet that would not make any difference if we would not acknowledge His presence in whatever form, it may be. When a person has a complete assurance of the presence of the master in any gathering of the saints, we would likewise see and encounter a full manifestation of his presence.

Many Christians miss the visitations of the Lord because of carnality. They say, if it is a meeting of cell group members, then it is an ordinary meeting, but if it is a popular evangelist coming to church, then Jesus would be in that meeting. These attitudes limit the power and Spirit of God so much. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The people in His hometown related to him as the local boy they knew, and so He could do nothing spectacular among them. “And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folks, and healed them.”— Mark 6:5 (KJV). The Lord wished to bless them yet they were not ready.

How do we approach all gatherings of the brethren?

1. PRAY before joining every gathering of the saints

2. Tell the Lord, you know He would be mightily present in the meeting, and you expect Him to do, one, two, or three things in your life. Be specific.

3. In the moment of worship, sincerely adore the Lord, knowing He is present and deserves all the worship.

4. Never see the speaker as just Mr. A, pastor B, or whoever. See the Lord Jesus speaking through the speaker to you.

5. Believe every prayer, and prophetic pronouncement as already established.

6. Pray and tell the Lord about those requests, knowing He has answered them.

7. Be very thankful and JOYFUL about your encounter with the Lord in that meeting.

CONFESSION

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your presence in every gathering of the saints. Thank you for your power that heals, saves, and answers all our prayers. I am always blessed in the gathering of the saints.

JESUS CARES

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 14:16 (KJV). “But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.”

The multitude who came after Jesus, stayed with him late into the night listening to the master. They were hungry, yet the serious part of their problem was that it was late as well as a desert area, where they could not get food to buy. The Lord knew they were hungry, he knew they could not easily have any access to food. The Lord did not only know of their plight, he was concerned and had decided on what to do. These people did not even call on the Lord to consider their plight, yet He was arranging to feed them. I believe within the multitude were many who were bitterly complaining about hunger and how it was impossible to get food to buy or to get home early enough to get some food to eat.

God tells us in His word what to do in moments of difficulty and challenge. He says “Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” -Philippians 4:6 (KJV) The Lord’s instruction is that we must be anxious for nothing. Anxiety is a state of emotional and mental turbulence, as a result of focusing on the negative happenings around him and realizing, he has no answer. What can one do to avoid being anxious? Understand it came because you chose to focus on the difficulty, now decide to focus on what God is saying and doing. For the people in the wilderness with Jesus, they had no idea about what Jesus was up to. Today, by the scriptures we know what Jesus is up to. He said,” I will never leave you nor forsake you”. He says all my promises are yes in Christ Jesus, 2nd Corinth 1:20. You must choose to believe what He says.

(Now, let me clarify the following three words to help us know how to handle each. Faith or belief is when a man decides to accept what God is saying. Unbelief is when a man refuses what God is saying and chooses to listen to what Satan or the bad situation says, often breeding fear. Doubt is when one is undecided whether to choose God’s word or Satan’s word.)

The Lord Jesus was engaging His disciples to work a miracle to feed the multitudes. The disciples found a boy with a basket of five loaves and two fishes. They questioned, what can that do when there were a multitude to feed? The Lord does not need hundreds of baskets full of loaves of bread, to feed the multitude, All He needs is even just one loaf, which would be released to him in faith. When He took hold of those five loaves and two fishes, He blessed it and gave it back to the disciples to be given to the multitudes. God works miracles for us when we release something dear into His hands. God always needs our faith to work miracles for us, because faith is a release of our heart, that is, the totality of our being into His hands, God cannot do any miracle in our lives without a release of our heart (faith) into His hands.

God is always concerned about blessing us but waits for us to place our being (faith) in His hands. Heb 11:6.

CONFESSION

My father cares for me. His thoughts towards me are always good. I place my trust in Him, and He always works miracles in my life.

THE BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS

KEY SCRIPTURE: Mat 26:26 KJV “And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.”

At the Passover feast, the Lord informed His disciples about the establishment of a new covenant between God and men, yet He stood on behalf of all men to cut this covenant. The irony again was that He was the object of the covenant. The terms of this covenant were that, He would die on behalf of men. Man would therefore be reconciled to God as a result.

His blood took away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Jesus’ blood obtained eternal redemption for us. (Heb 9:12). His beaten and torn body was for our healing (Isaiah 53:5). All these benefits of the covenant can be ours if we know and believe that they are ours.

The observance of this sacred ordinance is so important to the believer and the Lord Jesus, such that the Lord revealed himself to Apostle Paul, some years after His death, and instructed him to inform the body of Christ about observing it 1st Corinth 11;23). According to the word of God, when the wine and the bread were blessed, it became a fellowship or communion with the blood and body of Christ.1 Corinthians 10:16. “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? “This means anytime we partake of the bread and wine, during the communion, we share in the very body and blood of our Lord Jesus. The blessings involved are unimaginable so long as we take it with this understanding.

When one takes communion without discerning that he or she is fellowshipping with the blood and body of the Lord, he brings damnation on himself. The scriptures said those who err in this way may result in, weakness, sickness, and even death.1 Corinthians 11:29-30. “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause, many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep”.

This implies those who partake of the body and blood of Jesus with that understanding shall not be weak, sick, and not die prematurely.

There are countless testimonies of healing for many who took communion, believing it is the body and blood of Jesus. The Lord said as often as you take it you are announcing His death till He comes back. 1 Corinth 11:26. This means that any time we observe the communion, we play back a vivid scene of His death, resurrection, and the fact that He would return. This is the child of God’s victory.

Dear one, make the partaking of the communion very beneficial to you, by understanding these things.

CONFESSION

Each time I partake of the communion I fellowship with the body and blood of Jesus. I therefore receive the benefit of divine strength, health, and healing as well as the preservation of my life. Thanks be to God for giving us His Son who died for us.

GOD’S FAVOUR

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 5:20 KJV “For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.”

Our key scripture speaks about the favour of God. The Father favours (loves) the Son, and shows Him everything he does. The word favour is not a term that happens to people by chance, no! There are always definite steps or actions that one has to take that attract God’s favour. Just consider the following statement about the Lord Jesus. John 8:29 KJV “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” The scripture says, the Lord Jesus always does that which pleases the Father. This is what makes the Father to be with Him always. Favour is all about the Father being with you to face all life issues. Gen 39:2 KJV “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man, and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.”

Joseph a slave boy, and foreigner, prospered in the period of his servitude because God was with him. God helped him all through. He caused men to honour him, and therefore he excelled. Many admire the effects and results of a favoured life, yet are not ready to meet the terms for the favour. The Lord said the following to Priest Eli, in 1 Samuel 2:30b as follows:” …. for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.” This verse says it all. Those who honour the Lord by fearing His word and staying away from evil will attract the presence of God to go through various life situations with them. The Lord said, my father is ALWAYS with me because I do that which pleases Him. What is the one main thing that pleases the Father? It is to win souls.

Winning souls into the kingdom of God is one of the major acts that pleases the Father.

In Luke 2:49 the Lord calls it the father’s business.

In John 4:34, He calls it my meat or food.

In Matthew 28:19 He calls it discipling the world.

In John 9:4 He says it is my assignment.

In John 15:8 He calls it the Father’s glory

In John 15:16 He says it is means for answered prayers.

Dear child of God, the call to win souls is the father’s heart’s desire or his heartbeat. Anyone who engages in it would attract the father’s presence to favourably relate with him. Remember that in our passage of discussion, the Lord had been involved in the work of winning the lost, which made the Father reveal all things to Him.

WHO IS JESUS TO YOU?

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 7:40 KJV “Many of the people, therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth, this is the Prophet.”

In our key scripture some of the Jews’ said Jesus is that prophet. Which prophet did they mean? Moses spoke about him in Deut 18:15. Some also said He is the Christ. Some people in our world have great contention about the person of Jesus. Some say He is a prophet like any of the prophets of old. Others say He was a great teacher, miracle worker, or a good man. Sadly, some say He is a myth. Well, this aspect is most shocking, despite all the historical evidence. Some world organisations have tried to force certain relief organisations like World Vision not to attach their name to their activities. It is reported that the world-class footballer Neymar of Brazil was given a clause in his contract with the French club PSG, not to show religiosity, all because the player has always demonstrated openly his allegiance to Jesus Christ.

Why such hostilities towards Jesus? Jesus never instructed His followers to be violent towards fellow men.  Jesus even healed His assailant whose ears were chopped off. He healed countless people, He never cursed those who caught Him, humiliated Him so much, and finally killed Him on the cross. The difference Jesus brings to bear on the world is the fact that He resurrected from the dead. He showed Himself alive to His disciples. These disciples proved they encountered the resurrected Lord by also offering themselves to be killed for what they believed. Many people in our time have encountered Him, as He manifested to them. Countless hard-core Muslim adherents claim they saw Him like you could see your fellow brother.

All who sincerely gave their lives to Him have experienced amazing transformations. Atheists, who claim there is no God have been saved and lives transformed. Traditionalists, intellectuals, and non-intellectuals have come bowing to Jesus. Presidents of nations have also found him, and are on cloud nine. Dear one we are talking about a man whose impact on humanity cuts across every nation, colour, race, social status, and what have you. He is certainly not a myth. He is not a stirrer of trouble or division. What do you say about Jesus? It is your time to experience what these countless millions have experienced. Healings of divers kinds, transformed lives, deliverance from all kinds of bondages, and indeed no one can break His record. You are the next to enjoy the amazing meal that many have been enjoying.  IT IS NOW YOUR TURN.

NEVER GIVE UP ON JESUS

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 6:66 KJV “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.”

It is said that “When the going gets tough, only the tough get going”.

The Lord said lots of things that, were not easily understood, so a lot of his disciples left Him. Most men are fair-weather Christians. They are very high in the flow when everything seems to go very well. When the tides rise and the turbulence of trials and opposition are rather threatening, they throw in the towel and give up. May it not be you. In this instant, the Lord spoke about giving His flesh for the salvation of the world. This message was too hard for them to accept, so they left the master. What is it that is making you feel like giving up?

Some brethren have given up their faith because someone succeeded in making them convinced that the bible has flaws. Please listen to the advice of scripture. Col 2:8 KJV.” Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ”.

The scripture states it clearly. These people speak philosophy which is purely earthly wisdom or common sense. They also teach vain deceit whose sources are the tradition of men and the rudiments of this world popularly called science. They are not after Christ in whom dwells the fulness of God in bodily form, whose virgin birth cannot be denied, His miraculous life is non-contestable and his passion, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension are all facts of history.

There are several reasons, why certain individuals forsake the Lord into a life of uncertainty. Some give up because they were disappointed by an influential Christian they trusted. If this is your case, then you are falling out for a very unfortunate reason.

Please note that Satan can use anyone to fulfill his agenda.

He used Judas, Peter, and even all the disciples who forsook the master at the greatest time of need, the moment he was arrested.

Do not allow any man to make you give up your ultimate LIFE.

Some give up because unexpected, and harsh trials come their way. These conditions left them hurting, and very bitter. They got very angry at God and the Lord Jesus. Dear one if this condition is your lot, then please, you are getting certain fundamental issues very wrong.

God is love and has no iota of evil in his plans for His loving children.

He says His plans for you are very good and not evil, to bring you to an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11. What many of us fail to recognise is that there is the god of this world whose only agenda is to steal, kill and destroy. His ultimate plan is to destroy your faith. He is to kill and destroy every praise from your mouth. Refuse to lose your faith and your praise.

Repent of the wrong attitude towards God and accept His love today.
