KEY SCRIPTURE: 2 Samuel 12:10 “Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife”.

Life is spiritual and parents, especially fathers must allow the word of God to rule them. When they fail to let the word rule but act against the word of God their punishment can become a curse even on their children. This can give devils unhindered asses to assume the control of these children.

In 2 Samuel 12 the prophet Nathan came to King David and proverbially exposed his sin and wickedness before God. The following judgement or curse came upon him with his sons as well. 2nd Samuel 12:11 “Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee, out of thine own house and I will take thy wives before thine eyes and give them unto thy neighbour and he shall lie with the his wives in the sight of the sun”.

The Bible continued in chapter 13 by saying, and it came to pass after this. After David’s meeting with Nathan and the death of the baby, between him and Uriah’s wife. His son. Amnon had a crazy lust for his own sister Tamar. He eventually raped her and that started the process of anarchy in David’s home. Absalom who was Tamar’s direct brother was badly offended and went ahead and killed his brother Amnon. He rose against his father and even slept with his father’s concubines. (2nd Samuel 16:21-23).

What made the sons of David become so vile, committing incest and murdering one another? A supernatural power had taken over them and used them to bring pain to the heart of their father David. This evil hand was let in by their father.

Parents, your actions have so much effect and impact on your children. Many times the spirit that would rule and control the children depends on how the father or parents honoured God and his word. Proverbs 20:7 “The just man walketh in his integrity, His children are blessed after Him”.

Many times the power that controls or influences the children depends on how the parents honoured God.

My children are blessed after my blessings I will continually walk in honour of God and His word, so I would constantly attract God’s favour on myself and my children after me.

Psalms 112:1-2 ” Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed”.

Exodus 34:7  “Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation”.
