KEY SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”.

Our key scripture tells parents to train their children in the right paths. One way to do this is by demonstrating it to the child or the growing up individual. Luke introduces the book of the Acts of the apostles as.”……..of all that Jesus began both to do and to teach.”(Acts 1:1)The apostles were not just taught the doctrine and principles of God but they saw what was taught demonstrated before them by the Lord Jesus.

There are a number of children who would never trust their parents, because they have taught them to tell lies. It is very serious when answering a phone call you claim you are at point A whiles you are indeed at point B. Meanwhile all these is said and done in the presence of your daughter or son. If you tell your son to go answer the man at the gate, seeking for you that you are not at home, then you are making a liar out of your son and this boy would never truly trust you.

Demonstrate a life of true love to all and your family in particular. Practice a life of prayer. Don’t only talk about trusting God, show it in all your life situations.

A Japanese proverbs says “your actions are so loud that I can’t hear you when you speak” Dear parent there is no teaching that is clearer and stronger than a genuine or good example. Every father is a leader of the family and every good leader always leads by example, so father decide to submit your life to God’s word  first to do it and then to teach it. Ezra 7:10 “For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments”. The Lord said He made man and wife one flesh that they may raise Godly seeds (Malachi 2:15).Being an example in every good thing is a sure way to having godly seed.

There is no clearer teaching than a good example, I would always do whatever I wish to see my children do.

Malachi 2:15 “And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth”.

1 Timothy 4:12  “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity”.
