KEY SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 6:18 KJV” Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
In our key scripture we are called upon to pray always with all prayer in the Holy Spirit. The word translated ‘in’ from the Greek is ‘en’ and has these other meanings, with, by. The above scripture could be translated as, praying always with all prayer ‘by’ or ‘with’ the Holy Spirit. We see clearly that our call unto prayer is to be done by the agency or help of the Holy Spirit. (Please note: One may not pray in tongues yet inspired by the Spirit to pray) In 1st Corinthians 14:15 apostle Paul shows us what it means to pray with the Holy Spirit. 1Co 14:15 KJV” What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also”. He prays with the Spirit by praying in an unknown language
Praying in an unknown language by the agency of the Holy Spirit is a superior way to pray. Such a one builds up his spirit nature. In actual fact you do not make mistakes praying with the Spirit. Our key scripture tells us to pray always in or with the Holy Spirit. Jude 1:20, has the following to say” But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost”. Praying in the Holy Ghost helps us to build our most holy faith. We are made strong in the spirit as we pray in the Spirit. Dear child of God please take time to spend in God’s presence by praying in the spirit. Men as we are; have so much limitations, and so we need the spirit’s help especially in prayer. Rom 8:26 KJV” Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
The bible teaches that, the Spirit helps us to pray rightly. The scripture uses the word mysteries.1Corinth 14:2 KJV “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries”. These mysteries are issues about us and others that our minds and senses cannot know. The Holy Spirit who knows everything about us speaks on those things unto the father, through us. Whenever we pray in the spirit, we touch on issues that need to be prayed about. Never think that because you don’t understand what you may be saying, you are uttering something unwise, no and a big no. The scripture admonishes us in 1st Corinthians 14:39 ‘…… not to forbid to speak with tongues’ Dear child of God it is a great thing to pray by the ability of the Spirit. It is your right as a child of God to receive this ability to pray in the Spirit. If you don’t have this ability, you may receive it right now. Pray the following prayer.
