KEY SCRIPTURE: March 4:24 KJV” And he said unto them, take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given”.
I know of people who got possessed with demons through the books they read. Our key scripture instructs us to be mindful of what we hear. This also includes what we read and watch. I have listened to people make confessions about how they got possessed with devils through chatting on the internet with people they had no knowledge of their background. Others got demons controlling their lives through watching pornographic videos. It is more serious these days when, our mobile phones could be used to watch almost anything.
Many people lack self-control and so cannot resist the urge to go to certain sites to view obscene pictures. This should not be a challenge to Christians. As a child of God, you have the Holy Spirit who expresses self-control in you. Apostle Paul tells the brethren in 2 Corinth 6:1 not to receive the grace of God in vain. The grace of God in this context is a divine provision, that enables the child of God to overcome certain shortcomings of the flesh. You have to acknowledge that God has deposited in you the ability to meet any such challenges and overcome them.
Failure to respond to the grace of God can allow devils to manipulate and control you. There are certain people, who have demoralized themselves through watching pornographic films so much that, closing their eyes brings scenes of nude men and women to their minds. Such people cannot control their lust for sex. One man I listened to, testified that, he has been chatting with a ‘demon’ on the internet. (He got to know he was a demon, when he requested for the picture of this man. He sent a picture of a demon) He started seeing snakes in his dreams. After sometime, things got so bad that, he’s been seeing snakes in his house and some of his rooms. Be careful who you chat with on the internet.
Thank you, heavenly Father for the Holy Spirit. He enables me to control every wrong appetite. I choose what I want to watch or read. By His grace I am free from all demonic influences.
2Corinth 6:1 KJV” We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain”.
Galatians 5:22 & 23 KJV” But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (self-control): against such there is no law.
