KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 9:35 KJV “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.”

(Please read Matt 9:27-36)

We continue with our walk with Jesus through the gospels. In the above passage the Lord first encountered two blind men, who cried unto the Lord for healing, but had to follow him to his house. Why did he not heal them the first time they started calling on him? God is a Spirit and it takes one to express faith in Him to be able to receive from Him. Without faith, it is impossible to please God….. ‘Heb 11:6. Some people ignorantly say if these miracle healers believe they have power or what they are saying is real, then they should go to the hospitals or schools of the blind and heal them. As I said if you go to a people who need healing yet are not ready to express faith in God, it would be useless.

The Lord did not just respond at the first time, when those blind men cried for healing. They showed their faith by following Him to His house.

Please I want you to understand the need to exercise faith in God. We use our hands to receive tangible objects from others. We use our ears to listen to words from others. We also use our mouth to receive food. You can’t use your ears to receive money. Neither do you use your hands to hear words. In a similar vein, faith is the only means to receive from God. As the hand can’t take words, faith is the only means to take anything spiritual, before it would become real or tangible. When they got to Jesus, He asked them, do you believe that I can make your eyes see? Their answer was yes, and the Lord said, may they be healed according to their faith. Jesus is presently where you are. Can you reach out to Him in faith on the bases of His word and receive your healing today.

The Lord continued further with the healing of the sick, and in verse 35, the scripture said, “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people”. He went about in the cities preaching about the gospel of the kingdom. What is the gospel of the kingdom? It is all about announcing the message that says, the kingdom or rule of God has come, ready to dethrone the enemy of your soul. He wants to take over the reign of your life from demons of hell that are tormenting you.

The gospel of the kingdom says there is a king over men, who afflicts his subjects with diseases, uses them to practice all kinds of sinful and wicked ways. This old king is satan. A new king who brings you healing has come to takeover. This new king, our Lord Jesus, brings you, peace, holiness and victory in life. Would you welcome Him to become the king over your life? If your life is filled with sin, anger, absence of peace, sicknesses and demonic harassments, then probably Jesus has not become the king of your life. As people choose their new political leaders and over throw the reign of others You can also choose Christ today, and that means the overthrow of Satan over your life.

CONFESSION

I have faith in God. By my faith I receive from Him. Jesus is the king that rules my life. He has dethroned my former master, who is Satan. I am now free, from sin, free from sicknesses, free from demonic control. Glory be to God.
