GOD’S MEANS

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 17:27 (KJV). “Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.”

Our Heavenly Father is almighty and has an unlimited way of meeting our needs. Our Lord Jesus demonstrated how God can use any means to meet man’s needs. He blessed five loaves and two fishes, and it was enough to feed five thousand men minus women and children. He used clay with his saliva to create eyes for a blind man. The truth is that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. God is a supernatural being and every child of God must raise his faith to experience His various ways of provisions

In the above story the Lord needed to make payment for some tax. I believe there was no money physically available to Him at that time. He instructed Peter to go and catch fish. The first one would have a coin in its throat. He should take it and use it to pay their tax. In this instant too, He used supernatural means to settle his financial challenges. We learnt that Jesus did not do these things because He was God, but because He put His faith into action. The next thing that made Him to achieve such outstanding feat was His dependance and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

HOW did He know that there would be a fish with a coin in its throat? It was the Spirit who revealed this to Him. The Holy Spirit is our helper, teacher and stand by, to enable us achieve and overcome whatever is beyond man’s ability to comprehend. It is the responsibility of every child of God to be commune closely with the Spirit. He will reveal hidden things as well the next step to take. God blesses His children with miracle monies and we must trust open up to the Spirit to lead us.

THOUGHT: The closer one is to the Spirit, the easier life will become
