KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 20:32 (KJV). “And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?”
In our passage the two blind men got what they wanted. Their persistence paid of for them. The Lord saw their faith and called them to come. To persist, always means that there is a barrier opposing you from getting to your destination or having your desire. Persistence will mean counting your goal or ambition so important that, you ignore any pain or shame that the opposition may be giving you. Our Lord Jesus despised the shame and pain of the cross because of the joy of saving mankind and eternally defeating Satan for us. Hebrews 12:2
Many people are miserable failures because they yielded to the pain or shame of the resistance. They have not conceptualized the great joy of overcoming. Dear child of God, success, glory and honour is God’s desire for his children. God’s name is firmly associated with His children. Your success brings glory to His name. He is therefore helping you to win. Focus more on the blessings of achievement than whatever may be opposing you. Please note that, giving up is not a condition but your decision. It is always in your power to give up or persist till you win.
You may be schooling with certain financial challenges all over, yet, do not give up. God will make a way for you to go through. You may find some extra work to earn some money. Just decide that, you will not give up. As a pastor, you might have been labouring in prayer without seeing any success in church growth, yet, don’t give up. You may be doing whatever you have learnt about church growth, yet, the numbers keep fluctuating. If God called you to do that task, then He would not leave you. His grace is more than sufficient for you. Continue doing all the right things, and very soon, you will realize everything is well and perfect in His time.
THOUGHT: KEEP PERSISTING, BECAUSE ONE LAST EFFORT AT WINNING WILL BE THE VITAL BLOW THAT BRINGS YOU SUCCESS
Hebrews 6:12 (KJV). “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
1 Corinthians 16:13 (KJV). “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”
