KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 21:2 (KJV). “Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.”
The Lord Jesus led a life to fulfill the scriptures. He fulfilled the prophecy in Zechariah 9:9, that says in part that, your king comes to you riding on an ass. This scripture had to be fulfilled in the life of the Lord. He sent two of His disciples to a nearby village to go for an ass and its young one. They should go and lose it, because He needed to ride on it to fulfill scripture. The sin of our first parents, Adam and Eve has brought all creation under bondage. (Rom 5:12.) The Lord cannot use anything that is bound. He has to first set it free. The meaning of the name Jesus, is Jehovah the Saviour or Jehovah is Saviour. He came to save men. If He calls you into any task, then you are being delivered from some kind of bondage to real liberty and freedom. Say yes today, to his call.
The Lord needed to sit on the ass alone, yet he requested that, the colt be set free as well. The Lord Jesus as a savour does not think in terms of the salvation of individuals, but the whole family. Dear one if you are not born again, then the Lord is setting you free from the bondage of the deception of the world and the lust of the flesh, to the glorious liberty of serving him. If you are born again then Jesus is still asking you to freely yield your whole being to Him, so that you would be really free. He is seeking for the peace and deliverance of your whole family. It all depends on your response
HE calls each person to serve Him cheerfully for the blessings of all things.
Consider the following verse of scripture. Deut 28:47-48.
⁴⁷ “Because thou would not serve the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
⁴⁸ Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.” Deut 28:47,48
These verses speak a lot concerning God’s goodness towards us, and our corresponding response to his call. All blessings are made available to him who decides to serve him heartily, yet there is every wrong thing for the one who would not willingly and joyfully serve him. The choice is yours.
CONFESSION
I have chosen to joyfully serve the Lord Jesus for the abundance of all things. Serving Him is deliverance and freedom form all chains.
