TIME TO AVOID TROUBLE

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 7:1 KJV “After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.”

I once tried using a pathway, but saw two huge dogs which had gone loose from their home. I felt within myself just go in that path and when the dogs attempt attacking call on the name of Jesus. I also thought this way, why go for trouble when it could be avoided. I just turned back and wisely used another route.

In our story the Lord Jesus avoided the places where they were planning to arrest and kill him. He is the master over all things, and so he could have gone to these areas claiming he had power over everything. The Lord did avoid what was unnecessary.

At the birth of Jesus, the wisemen in their search to locate the new baby went to King Herod’s Palace. When King Herod felt his reign was threatened, he sent for the slaughter of all children below two years. The angel of the Lord asked Joseph to send Mary the mother of Jesus and the baby to Egypt. Why didn’t God send an angel to protect the baby Jesus.? There are certain occasions when the action for safety and survival lies within our ability and we must be responsible to our duty

Another point to note is to understand divine timing. When it was time for the Lord to go to the cross to die for all men, he set his face as a flint and went to Jerusalem. (Isaiah 50:7) This was God’s plan and it could not be avoided. This teaches us to be in tune with the Holy Spirit to know when He would want us to do what He may be saying. One thing that every child of God ought to be doing in his prayer times is to ask the Holy Spirit to tell him any specific act or step he has to take around that moment. Knowing God’s specific instruction for a particular hour, has great blessing and benefit.

THOUGHT:  ALWAYS KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT SHOULD BE AVOIDED AND WHAT TO BE CONFRONTED.  GOD WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT WHICH IS MAN’S RESPONSIBILITY
