KEY SCRIPTURE: John 7:3 KJV” His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.”

When the Lord hanged on the cross one of the men who hanged to his left said to Jesus, if you are the Christ save yourself and save us too. Some of the onlookers shouted at him, if you are the Christ save yourself, and we would believe you. The world attacks us to forfeit God’s will, please refuse it.

When the Lord decided to avoid going to Jerusalem, because of the Jews who were planning to kill him, His brothers, came to Him and said, to Him go to Judaea. They stated a few humanly convincing reasons why He must go there. They told Him (John 7:4)

1. Go there so that, thy disciples may see thy works

2. No man does things in secret

3. Everyman also wants to be known

4. If you are doing anything spectacular, then show thyself to the world. These were well thought out convincing statements to influence Jesus to abandon His program not to go to Judaea.

We live at such a time that the social world influences the thinking and actions of most Christians. There seem to be so much scriptural messages going around yet most people do not spend quality time with God and the Word of God. Most of the time is used watching funny videos and other secular films. Some Christians secretly watch pornographic pictures and have sadly gotten addicted to them. Dear child of God Christianity is a call out from the world.

 The word church means, the called-out ones (ekklesia). We have been called out to bring the life of God to bear on the world.

 It becomes a big misunderstanding of Christianity if the world should rather influence us.

Any kind of influence that controls you should come from the Holy Spirit.2Co 6:14 KJV” Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

Who is your Counsellor Is it your family, friends the secular world, or the Holy Spirit? Refuse to let the pressure of the world model you into something different from the heavenly life. Listen to Jesus’ terms for following Him; Luke 14:26 KJV ” If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.”
