KEY SCRIPTURE: John 7:25 KJV “Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?”
Word had gone round among all the Jews that; the elders and chief priest were seeking for Jesus to kill Him. When the Lord was seen talking freely among the Jews, some of them commented in John 7:25 that, “……, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill? Why could they not lay their hands on Him at that time? In John 11:9, the Lord made a proverbial statement that explained everything. ” Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walks in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.” The day symbolises light, and light means the will of God. He implied that if a man walks according to the will of God, only the counsel of God, shall prevail for him.
You do not stumble during the day. Walking in the will of God, means only what God has planned for you shall stand.
From the above exposition the child of God must totally put his trust in the Lord. The devil may say, and show all the threats, yet we must not attend to any of what he may be saying, but to trust in the Lord, and do what He instructs us to do. Life seems to be full of uncertainties. You are up today, but down tomorrow. This should not be the case. Up and down comes because of lack of consistency of trust in God.
Rom 10:11 KJV” For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed”. The following verse says, ” for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call on Him”. This word ‘call’ also means to put your trust in Him. God is forever true. The challenge of many is when they begin to lose their trust in God at the instance of tough oppositions.
The truth is whether tough winds, or no opposing winds, God’s power to protect is still the same.
Just maintain your confidence in Him.
Peter and the Lord were walking on the sea at the same time. Same conditions for both of them, yet Peter began to sink, why? He lost his trust and so lost that divine security promised to all. Matt 14:27-30
The scriptures instruct us to take up our faith by which we will quench all the fiery darts of the wicked Eph6:16. Your faith is a spiritual weapon to quench every attack of the enemy.
No attack is greater than your faith. So long as you lift it up the opposition must be stopped.
Stop worrying about hard times coming on you, and focus on your relationship with the Lord.
Feed your faith consistently as you practice the word to strengthen your ability to depend on the word in difficult times. As you do this, you would soon realise, whether good or bad times, God is the same, and everything is under your control.
THOUGHT: YOUR FAITH IS THE SPIRITUAL ARK THAT KEEPS YOU SAILING ABOVE THE WATERS OF LIFE.
