KEY SCRIPTURE: John” 9:7 KJV And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way, therefore, and washed, and came seeing.”
The Lord asked the man to go to the pool called Siloam and wash the sand from his eye lids This word Siloam also means sent. We learn from the bible that even names of places turned to play the role of their meanings in the lives of people in their times. This reveals the bible as naturally spiritual and also spiritually natural. The blind man who needed healing would have expected that after the Lord had smeared his dead eyes with the clay, He would have just said eyes open and it would have opened. The Lord rather gave him an instruction to do something which seemed to have nothing to do with his healing. This man had a very meek attitude. He obeyed.
I believe it was not easy to get to the pool, yet He managed to get there and did as the master instructed.
Faith in God always demands some amount of blind obedience and trust. It expects absolute trust knowing that God’s way is always the best, no matter how foolish it may seem. Trusting God in many cases seems foolish and ridiculous. God has chosen the foolish things of this would to confound the wise. You can never experience God if you always want to remain logical and reasonable. It takes meekness and lowliness to walk in the rest of God. Matt 11:29 KJV” Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
What made this blind man who never knew Jesus anywhere, to obey His instruction to go to the pool and wash. I believe his desire to gain his sight, made him to act against any natural reasoning to go and wash. There are millions of people today who have missed the call of the Lord, to experience blessings or miracles of God.
These people are sadly caged by their dignified reasoning, and so miss God.
It is always a blessing to believe God and to do what He tells you. The Syrian general, Naaman in 2 Kings 5:10 nearly missed God’s healing grace. He wanted to insist on how God should heal Him.
Now what are certain things God has instructed us to do, so we would enjoy His blessings and miracles
1. We should not be anxious about anything Phil 4:6,7
2. In all things we must give thanks to God.1 Thess 5:18
3. We should always be expectant of a good and favourable end. Jeremiah 29:11
4. SEEK to put God’s interest first in all we do. Matt 6;33
If we do these things, we would experience His peace and blessings
