KEY SCRIPTURE: Exo 28:41 WEB “You shall put them on Aaron your brother, and on his sons with him, and shall anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the priest’s office.”

We now look at anointing by the Spirit of God. The anointing reveals the mighty hand of God on an individual’s life.

The word anoint means to rub an ointment or smear oil on an individual. The Lord instructed Moses to anoint Aaron and his sons. It was an act to consecrate and sanctify them unto the Lord as seen in our key scripture. For one to be anointed means he is to play a particular role for God. It, therefore, implied he or she is holy unto the Lord. There is a third aspect of the anointing, and that is to receive divine ability or supernatural enablement to do that work for God. During the building of the tabernacle of God by Moses, the Lord anointed Bezalel, with wisdom and cunning arts to design various things in the temple. Exo 31:3 WEB” I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all kinds of workmanship,”

Now, the anointing is not for any individual to glory about, but to serve the purposes of God. The anointing also demands holiness for the agent of the anointing is the Holy Spirit.

The anointing also consecrates the individual, which means, no defiling things like any work of the devil has any place in the anointed.

In Psalm 89:20-30 the Lord speaks of His anointing of David with an Holy oil.

He lists certain benefits that categorizes one with the anointing.: They are as follows:

1. God’s arm shall be established with the anointed and strengthen him.

2. The anointed will overpower all his enemies.

3. God will beat down and strike all who hate him.

4. God keeps faithful to the anointed and exalts their horn or strength.

5. God will enlarge his impact, both local and international

6. God’s covenant of faithfulness is with the anointed.

Every child of God needs to be anointed, and God our father will want all to be anointed, yet there is a requirement for such an anointing. TO BE CONTINUED

CONFESSION

God my father, has called me to serve Him. It is His Spirit, that makes me give an acceptable service. I open up to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit on my life, so I may give Him that acceptable service. By the anointing, I am empowered for His glory.
