How does one appropriate the promises of divine healing and divine health?

To be able to take advantage of the promises of divine healing or divine health, you must first know about the scriptures that relate to it.

Let’s take a look at some of these promises.

1. Exodus 23:25 “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee”.
2. Exodus 15:26 ” And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee
3. Psalms 103:3 “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases”;
4. Isaiah 53:4-5. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”.

To appropriate any of these promise speak out the promise of scripture and declare how the conditions are fulfilled in your case.

You can then claim it as yours and subsequently, your healing.

Thank the Lord for healing you. Maintain your grounds and your healing would materialise. Know that the Lord is ever present with you to honour His word (Jeremiah 1:12).  Keep praising the Lord for healing you.

 PRAYER

I thank you heavenly father that you forgive all my sins and you heal all my diseases. I accept my healing and from this hour I know every power of disease is absolutely destroyed over my life in Jesus name. Thank you Father for healing me.

In order to appropriate healing from the Lord, you must come to terms with the INTEGRITY OF THE WORD OF GOD.

One of the biggest hindrances to Christians experiencing the blessings of God is that they treat God’s word, (the bible) as just another book. The bible pulsates with the life of God (2nd Tim 3:16, 17).To benefit from it you must let your very existence depend on it.

Our key scripture says God sent His word and healed them and delivered them from all their destruction.  Dear child of God in order to receive healing from the Lord you have got to understand or come to terms with the fact that God’s word is faithful and would always produce what it talks about. The following scriptures highlight on the faithfulness or integrity of God’s word.

 In Jeremiah 1:12 the prophet wrote “Then said the Lord unto me, thou has well seen for I will hasten my word to perform it.” 2nd Corinthians 1:20 reads “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us”. Every promise is yes or so be it, in Christ

  Isaiah 55:11 assures us as follows. “So shall my word be that goes out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. God’s word has the potency to do what it talks about, all it needs is to be kept in the heart then the results would manifest. Numbers 23:19 also says, “God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and shall He not do it, has He spoken and will He not make it good?”  Men may fail not necessarily because they intend to but they may not have the ability to do It., This is not so with God. When He says a thing He has the ability and the will. If He has promised healing, then performing it is as good as the word itself. Romans 3:4a also says “God forbid let God be true and Every man a liar”.

Now what has He said about our health? 1st Peter 2:24b says “and by whose stripes you were healed”. Count your healing done.

 CONFESSION

The word of God is God’s blue print message to me. I believe with my whole heart what God has said, therefore, I have what He said.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received freely give”

The Lord Jesus during His ministering years spent most of His time healing the sick. He commands us to also heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and raise the dead. How did He do this work?

In Luke 17:12-14 Jesus was met with ten lepers who requested for healing. The Lord did not pray for them but asked them to go and show themselves to the high priest. These men were healed as they went.

In Mark 2:5-11, the Lord asked the man sick of palsy to arise and take up his bed and go. In Mark 1:30-31, the Lord held the hand of Simon’s mother- in-law and lifted her up.

In John 5:1-9, the Lord after asking the impotent man if He would want to walk, the Lord went ahead and asked him to lift his bed and walk.

The Lord even commanded Lazarus to come out from the grave and he did.

Our Lord Jesus put aside His glory as God and did everything as a man who depended on the Holy Spirit. This is the reason he instructed us in our opening scripture to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and cast out the devils, The Lord was asking us to do as He did. This is what is called working of miracles.

He issued the command in faith and the candidates acted on the word. It is the response to the word spoken in faith which causes the miracle to take place.

Many times we pray for the sick. This is not wrong any way, but there is a higher and better way that is the way of the master. Do as He did. He commanded the sick to do what they were supposed to do, but unable because of the sickness, and as they put their faith into action the Holy Spirit takes over and perfect restoration was evidenced.

    CONFESSION

I have received command to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and raise the dead. I will do likewise to seek the helpless and invalid freed from all satanic and demonic oppression and aggression. I know who I am, and would give myself to setting men free.

Matthew 10:1 “And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease”.

Luke 10:9 “And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you”.

We continue with our study on how many will God heal, or is it the will of God to heal all who come to Him?

The provisions God has made for healing the sick goes a long way to show His readiness to see men healed.

From Isaiah 53:4, the scripture reads “surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him   stricken, smitten of God and afflicted”. The word grief means sickness in the Hebrew language and the word sorrows also means pains. Our key scripture added that “and with His stripes we are healed”. The apostle Peter referred to this verse relating it to all Christians as follows “……by whose stripes we were healed”.

Dear child of God this scripture tells us that our Lord Jesus “surely” carried our sickness and bore our pains. Who are those included in the “our”. In that same passage we learnt that the punishment for our peace as well as our iniquities have all been laid on Him. Are you included in ‘our’ or not?

 Dear child of God, don’t let any experience of anyone, whether recorded in the bible or it was experienced in life. It never negates the all-time statement that says our Lord Jesus bore our sicknesses and carried away our pains.

 NOTE: The fact that a man of God sinned like in the case of Samson, does not mean God uses sin to teach His children anything (lesson).

God has stated His will for everyone to take advantage of. It says Jesus has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains and by His stripes we are healed. This is His universal will and anyone who meet the terms of believing this or taking it for Himself shall enjoy the full benefits of it. He has borne it for EVERY MAN. You are included. If you will accept it with a child-like faith you would be healed of that sickness that is threatening your life. Jesus proved His readiness to heal all who came to Him, demonstrating real faith in Him.

Dear brother or sister you will not fail to receive your healing. God’s arm will be revealed to the man who would believe this report. (Isaiah 53:1)

CONFESSION

The Lord Jesus suffered in my place to purchase my total healing. I accept this work of healing in Jesus name.

Matthew 9:5-6 ” For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house”.

1 Peter 2:24  ” Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:17 ” That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses”.

In our discussion on divine healing, we wish to lay the foundation for receiving healing from the Lord.

To be able to receive healing from the Lord you must fully establish it in your mind that it is God’s perfect will to see you healed. You must be convinced from the scriptures that God wants you well. Sickness is never His way of punishing His children or humbling His children. One’s actions and ways may bring some kind of ailment, yet it is not God who placed it on him or her although He might have allowed it.

 Now how many people would God heal, or who will He heal? The following scriptures would help us. Matthew 8:16 “When the evening was come they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils and cast out the spirits with his word and healed all that were sick. Matthew 12:15 “But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from thence: and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. Like 4:40 “Now when the sun was setting all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him and He laid His hands on every one of them, and healed them.  Like 6:19 “And the multitude sought to touch Him: for there went virtue out of Him and healed them all”.

Jesus is the revelation of the will of God. He did what the father wanted Him to do. He always healed all those who came to Him expecting to be healed. HE NEVER SENT ANYONE AWAY. In Mark 1:40, 41, a leper came to Jesus asking the Lord to heal him if only he willed to do so.  The Lord quickly corrected him and said i will; He even went further to do what the law suggested not to be done, that is, not to touch a leper. Mark 1:41 “And Jesus moved with compassion, put forth His hand and touched Him, and saith unto Him I will, be thou clean”. The Lord is saying to you who needs healing today, I will be thou clean”.

Please consider the Lord’s reaction to the attitude of the Pharisees to a sick woman who needed healing on the Sabbath day, in Luke 13:12-17. The Lord said the following to establish His unflinching desire for healing all under the Abrahamic covenant. Luke 13:16 ” And ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has bound lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day”.

Dear child of God, you are a son or daughter of the covenant and Jesus is angry at what the devil is doing in your life, reach out and receive your healing today!

It is God’s will to have me healed. I receive my healing in Jesus name. Amen.

Acts 10:38 ” How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”.

Isaiah 33:24 ” And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity”.

 PRAYER

I am a benefactor of the covenant of Abraham and therefore, it is wrong for the enemy to torment my life with sicknesses and diseases, in the Name of Jesus I command the spirit of infirmity to loose its hold over my life right now. Amen.

KEY SCRIPTURE: James 5:14 “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord”:

Divine healing is a restoration to health by the power of God. There are various ways of administering healing to the sick. There are physical or natural ways of healing the sick. Our concern in this study is to look at how to receive healing from the Lord.

Sickness remains one of the major enemies and a molester of humans. The medical profession is doing its best yet there are countless cases that medicine has no answer to. Knowing how to receive healing is a big plus to having a fulfilled life. Many people wish they could be alleviated from the power of diseases. To a lot of people it is not possible. Some even say it is the will of God to afflict people with sicknesses and for that matter some of God’s children as well.  Are these views true? What is the biblical answers to some of these questions? This series of studies will throw some light on such questions and help you live free of the power of sicknesses.

Stop and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes so you may behold wondrous truths out of the word of God (Psalm 119:18).

I would first want to explain the difference between divine healing and divine health.

Diving healing, as I explained earlier is restoration to health through the power of God. Divine health is a preservation of your health by the power of God. In divine healing from God (I have been using the phrase receiving healing instead of God healing your sicknesses. This is for a very important reason. I would explain as our study proceeds), one who has been suffering from some sickness is made whole by the power of God. In divine health you do not get sick in the first place. Divine health is God’s ultimate desire for His children. I pray we humbly go through these series of studies so we would be able to walk in divine health. 1st Corinthians 6:20 says “For you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your bodies and in your spirit”    No disease allows men to glorify God in their bodies.

Divine health is God’s will for you. 3rd John 1:2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper, and be in health even as thy soul prospereth.

God wants you well.

It is the will of God that I may be in health. It glorifies Him. I would continue to walk in perfect health even as I walk in the word of God to glorify Him.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 14:6 ” Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.

Someone, once said, discovery brings recovery. I pray you come to discover yourself from these studies. KNOW who you really are, and take your place in this life. To know who you are,opens you up to your real potentials and subsequently what you can do.

The story is told of a hunter who found a lion cub alone in the forest. He brought this baby lion home and added it to his flock of sheep It attempted to eat leaves like them. They played and grazed together. One day they went out grazing whiles a big lion came around. The sheep and the ‘lion sheep’ all run away from this adventuring lion.

On another occasion they were grazing by a river bank when they saw this same lion at the extreme end of the river. They were caught with fear and ran for their lives. This time the baby lion which had grown, looked at his image in the river . He realised he had ears like it, His hair, face and general features were the same as the wild lion. The young lion did not ran from it, but crossed the river and followed it to the wild.Through self discovery it recovered itself.

Many Christians have lived, associated and related with ordinary men or people such that they see themselves like them.

Dear child of God, your birth into Christ according to John 1:12,13 is not a religious cliche` but a present hour reality. Please read some of the descriptions that the Holy Spirit makes of you. “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear it’s sound but cannot tell where it’s comes from and where it is going, SO IS EVERYONE THAT IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT”(John 3:8). The Christian cannot be stopped, He is supernatural and like the wind.. This is by birth as a result of receiving the life of Christ.

To really discover who you are just look at the Lord Jesus. That is how you are because he lives through you; He is your life.

CONFESSION
I am born from above, from a higher life. Jesus is my life. He is alive in me. I am not influenced by the world and it’s ways. My Lord Jesus does His works through me.

Ephesians 1:18-19 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Psalms 82:6 ” I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: John 14:6 ” Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”.

I have come to discover many Christians do not understand the fact that Christ is their life. (Colossians 3:4a “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear …”)

  Christ is the life of the Christian. (Galatians 2:20). This means the Christian is a supernatural person. You are not this body. The real you lives inside the body .2nd (Corinth 5:1-8). The inner man or the real you is also Christ in you (Colossians 1:27)

  When we say ‘ I’, as a Christian, we should mean   the man or woman who is strong and Satan cannot easily manipulate. You are referring to the man, woman or boy who overcomes diseases and all that Satan throws at him or her. .  I pray you discover who you are. I hear people sing songs like “I am weak but thou at strong”.  If you sing this as a baby Christian there is no problem. But the matured Christian who sings such songs become a potential   prey for the enemy. Somebody may say we are admitting we are weak so we can receive of His strength. This is where Satan takes advantage of you.  1st Corinthians 6:17 says “But he that’s joined to the Lord is one spirit”. Please just consider this, if you are one spirit with Him, what made you weak.

Dear child of God you have become who you are in Christ by grace. (Romans 5:17). Listen to the advice the Holy Spirit gave to Timothy in 2nd Timothy 2:1. “Thou therefore my son be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus”. Please answer me, what does it mean to be strong in something? It means to take full advantage or use of it. Grace has made us one with Him and therefore as He is so are we. (1st John 4:17). Why do you keep confessing weakness? Let the weak say I am strong. (Joel 3:10)

Dear child of God your calling to be a Christian is to reveal Christ through you.(Gal 1:16).  He is our life.

  PRAYER

Thank you Jesus that you gave me your life, so that I may be free from my old self of weakness, and sickness and partake of your divine nature.
