KEY SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death”.

One further sure grounds for divine health is an acknowledgement of the law of the Spirit of life that is at work in every Christian. Before we were born again there was a kind of law which functioned in us. It Is called the law of sin and death. This law functioned in our old man. Roman’s 6:6 “Knowing this that our old man is crucified with Him,  that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin”

The old man is not just our flesh but our spirit nature before being born again. After we were born again, this man was crucified and Christ came to live in us. (Galatians 2:20, Colossians 1:27) Christ became the very life force of out being. He came into us with a new law; the law of the Spirit of life. This law destroys all sicknesses and the power of sin.

I would narrate the experience of one man of God who got this insight and believed it. His name is Evangelist John G. Lake.

An epidemic had broken out in South Africa where he was living in that time. The epidemic was so contagious that mere touching of those already infected could lead to an infection. But it was observed that John G. Lake had had contact with several infected patients without being infected. When asked about it he replied that another kind of life was at work in Him and that if the disease germs came in contact with his body this life (the law of the Spirit of life) in him would burn them up and destroy them.

They asked him to prove it and he agreed to a test, they took a sample containing these germs and dropped some on the back of his hand. They actually viewed his hand underneath a microscope to ensure the germ cells were alive. After a few minutes, they checked under the microscope again and the germ cells had stopped moving. They had all died. Hallelujah!

This is your nature and who you are if you are born again.  Admit that a superior law is at work in you.

The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has indeed made me free from the law of sin and death. I refuse to allow any sickness to reign in my body.

Divine health is the will of God for His children. How does one maintain his or her divine health?

As a recap, divine health is God’s Power keeping you from getting sick. Please understand that the fact that you believe God for divine health does not mean the devil will not raise all sorts of attacks at you. He will come with certain symptoms. Some may even look very threatening at times. It would be up to you to know how to silence all those onslaughts. Ephesians 6:16 reads. “Above all, taking the shield of faith, where with ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked”.

Satan always seeks avenue to put the believer down. He will raise all sorts of attacks anticipating that you yield to him with fear.  The Bible says we must take up the shield of faith by which we would be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. You must constantly work on your faith in the word.

 Keep feeding on the word.

 Keep declaring the word

 Keep acting on the word.

 Never give any attention to what may be going on in your flesh. They are lying symptoms. Jonah 2:8 says “those who observe lying symptoms forsake their mercies.

In such moments Proverbs 4:20-25 shows us what to do. The passage teaches us the following.

1. Give attention to the word
2. Incline your ear to the word.
3. Keep them in your heart.
4. Let it not depart from your eyes.
5. Guard your heart and don’t let fear enter your heart.
6. Guard your mouth from speaking fear, danger or the praise of the devil
7. Don’t let your eyes focus on the symptoms.

The scriptures teach us what to do and what not to do. Go through them carefully and observe them meticulously. The word of God remains your only grounds for victory.  Give no place to the flesh.

If you maintain your grounds you would come out victorious.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 53:1 “Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?”

We continue with our discussion on divine health.

The book of Isaiah 53 is a classic prophecy of the atoning work of our Lord Jesus. In Isaiah 53:1 the prophet wrote “who has believed our report, and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?” The scripture informs us of a report that if anyone is to believe he would receive the arm of the Lord (the power of the Lord) being revealed to him or her.

Isaiah 53:4 reads “Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted”. Let’s consider the meaning of some of these words in the Hebrews language from which this scripture was translated. The word borne means to lift, carry, take away. The next word to look at is griefs, which is “choly” in Hebrew and it means sickness. The next word is ‘carried’ which means “bear a load”. The last word to look at is sorrows, which is “makob” in Hebrew it is translated as pain or sorrows. Matthew 8″17 translated this very scripture as “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet saying “Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses”. The prophet stated in verse 5 that “But he was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed”.

Apostle Peter who was a witness to the death of Jesus and knowing it’s implication as revealed by the prophet Isaiah wrote in 1st Peter 2:24 “……by whose stripes you were healed”. Please note this Isaiah said you “are” healed and Peter wrote you were healed because it was past. Your healing is already settled and completed.

Our Lord Jesus has already borne our diseases and carried our pains. It is up to you to know that it was already done. In the eyes of God you are healed. This is your provision for divine health. In the eyes of God and before the court of heaven it is written and established about you that you are healed.

You don’t have to accept any symptom of any disease because before God you are well and healed. Stand on the divine provision stated in black and white that you are healed.

Thank you Heavenly Father that you have paid for my health through our Lord Jesus Christ. I cannot be sick because it is already settled in Jesus name.

2 Peter 1:4 ” Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

KEY SCRIPTURE: Psalms 82:5-6 ” They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”

We continue with our study on the biblical foundation for divine health.

The apostle Paul said in “Galatians 2:20, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me”.

 The apostle is saying over here that, the life of his flesh is no more by his natural ability but now by the Spirit of Christ.

Dear child of God our Lord Jesus died in our name, and so we died with Him. When He resurrected, He rose with a new life.  (Romans 5:5). The life of our flesh is the Spirit of Christ. Romans 8:10 says “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is live because of righteousness”. The Christian does not live by his flesh. He is a spiritual person. The spirit of Christ is the one who leads and controls the Christian.  In verse 11, the scripture added that “if the Spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised Christ from the dead shall vitalise your mortal bodies”. When we were not born again we were controlled by our flesh. After our new birth we are no more controlled by our flesh but by the Spirit of Christ. In the verse 11 the Bible added that this Spirit of Christ who has become our new personality gives life to our bodies which has the tendency to die (mortal). *

 Now by faith * the body of every Christian has a supernatural life.

 This is why the apostle Paul said the life He lives in the flesh he lives by the faith of the Son of God. (Please note: this can only be experienced by those who know and believe it) if you do not know and believe this teaching of scripture you will not experience it.

Do you remember that the Lord Jesus said that these signs would accompany them that BELIEVE, according to Mark 16:17 “And these signs shall follow them that believe, In my name shall they cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues they shall take up serpents, and if they drink deadly things it shall not hurt them; they shall lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover”. This verse is not a promise, it is only stating the identification mark of the believer: He said if they are to take any deadly thing it shall not hurt them.  This includes, poison, bacteria, virus, bad chemical in the air etc.: they have no power over your vitalised flesh.

WHAT IS THE FOUNDATION FOR DIVINE HEALTH FOR THE CHRISTIAN?

We have been looking at divine healing in our previous studies. We would also consider the scriptural provisions for divine health. As we discussed in the very first study of our above topic we said divine health is a preservation of the health of an individual. This means the child of God is kept from getting sick in the first place. I believe this is a topic a lot of people would become very apprehensive about, because it is normal for most people to be getting sick and then seek for healing. 3rd John 2 reads “beloved I wish above all things, that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth”. To be in health is God’s desire for His children.

All men are sustained by their blood. Leviticus 17:11 says “For the life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that maketh atonement”. The life of every flesh is in the blood. All humans born into this world live by the life provided by their blood……

When a man is born again something different happens to him or her.  Every experience in the Christian can only be possessed by accepting the revelation God has made about it. The Christian is a biological miracle. According to John 1:12, 13 “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become sons of God, even to them that believed on His name. Which were born not by blood, or the will of the flesh or the will of man, but of God”. The Christian has received power to become a son of God. The word power also means ‘ability’. This has changed our state from mere men to divine beings, just like our master and Lord Jesus. (Romans 8:29)

Our new nature is very different from the kind of beings we used to be. It is not of human origin in any way.

1. Not of blood
2. Not of the will of flesh
3. Not of the will of man

We have been born by God. God has become our father. This is a mystery. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold everything has become new”. Dear child of God you are a miracle. The apostle Paul revealed these truths in Galatians 2:20 as follows “I am crucified with Christ,  nevertheless I live: yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the FLESH, I live by the faith of the son of God,  who loved me and gave himself for me. KEY SCRIPTURE: Luke 13:16 “And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath  bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

Why God would want you well? Some people remain sick because they do not know how much our heavenly father wants them to be well.

Man was created without sickness: Sickness came because of sin which caused the fall of man. What is sin?

 As much as sin is a transgression of the law, sin is also yielding your human faculties to the devil to use. (Romans 6:17). What is sickness? Sickness is not just a physical deformity but from the teachings of our master Jesus most sicknesses are demons or a demon that takes its abode in any part of the human body. Acts 10:38. ” How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with  power who went about doing good and healing all  who were oppressed of the Devil for God was with Him.”.. Dear child of God, don’t just see every sickness and diseases as a physical deformity but also a demon that has taken hold of that particular part that is deformed or infected.

In our key scripture a lady who had been sick (bowed over) for about eighteen years came to the temple. To everyone it was a deformity in the body. The Lord who could discern what was really happening said Satan had bound her for eighteen years.  It was a demon holding her unto such a condition.

A young girl fell from a height and collapsed. She was brought to me and I rebuked the Spirit holding her in that state.  I asked of her name and called her, instantly she responded and opened her eyes. She was later sent to the hospital, yet there was nothing wrong with her. Where did that demon which kept her collapsed come from?

Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit (1st Corinthians 3:16). We are the house of God presently on the earth. Can you imagine the Holy Spirit dwelling with a demon or devil in the same body? God does not want that. 1st Corinthians 6:20 tells us that “For you were bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body, and in your Spirit”. How can a sick, weak and helpless body glorify God?

 Please listen to the passion of our Lord when He expressed His dislike for the people in our story of the key scripture: He called them hypocrites. In this instance the lady did not come to the Lord for healing, rather the Lord spotted her and sort to heal her. God hates to find devils afflicting the bodies of men who should be the temple of the Holy Spirit.

This teaching should help you to be confident in counting on the readiness of the Lord to see you healed.

Lord Jesus, your desire to see me well remains unflinching, for you are always the same. I receive my healing by faith in the name of Jesus.

Matthew 8:16 ” When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick”:

Matthew 10:1 ” And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 17:21 “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting”.

In this instant the Lord returned from the mount of transfiguration and came to find the disciples trying to heal a boy but failed. He took charge and delivered the boy of that condition.

The Lord remarked that they could not do so because of unbelief. Matthew 17:17 “Then Jesus answered and said “O faithless and perverse generation, how along shall I be with you how long shall I suffer you? Bring him here to me”. The disciples got to the master and asked why could not we cast him out?  The Lord answered that if they had faith as a grain of mustard seed, they will say to the mountain to go into the sea, and nothing shall be impossible to them. (Verse 20). The Lord went further and added that “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting”. What is the Lord implying in these two statements?

First He said it was because of their lack of faith.

Secondly he said this kind does not go except by fasting and prayer.

The Lord is simply saying  that, in certain cases one needs to fast and pray in order to build up his faith to measure up to deal with such a case.

 The essence of fasting is not to change God, but rather fasting tunes us up to relate well to the Lord. Fasting and prayer has been one of the means where certain medical conditions that have defiled all other means have been stopped.

During a time of fasting with prayer one focuses on God and his word which strengthens him or her. . This helps to raise the person’s faith in God and his word, thus the answer is quickly obtained.

I have realized that at prayer camps and retreat centres certain conditions that have defiled all other means turn out positive. Some people have been rather lazy to abstain from their normal lifestyle of eating three times to fast and pray. The Bible says in Isaiah 58:8 that when we have fasted rightly “then shall thy light break forth as the morning and thine health shall spring forth speedily……”. Fasting and prayer according to the Bible speeds up one’s health speedily. Make fasting with prayer your lifestyle.

One way to build a strong faith for answers is by prayer and fasting coupled with meditation on the scriptures. By these divine disciplines, difficult mountains of health challenges are brought low.

Psalms 35:13 ” But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into mine own bosom”.

Matthew 17:20-21 ” And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Acts 19:12 “So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them”.

The next means of receiving healing is through tokens. A token is a physical or tangible representative of a fact, quality or feeling (Oxford dictionary).In these instances the tokens represent the power of God.

Throughout the Bible God has been working through his servants using various tokens to manifest His power and to administer healing to the sick.

In 2nd Kings 5:14, Naaman the Military General of Syria was healed of leprosy by bathing in the river Jordan. This is using water as a means by which the Holy Spirit ministered healing.

The Lord Jesus in John 9:6, spat on the ground and made clay of the spittle, anointing the eye of a blind man with it. He asked Him to go and wash in the pool of Siloam. After which he came back seeing. The Lord used the spittle with the sand as a means by which the Holy Spirit healed the sick man. The anointing oil is also one of the tokens that healing is administered. Mark 6:13.  “And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them”.  In this instant, Jesus disciples went preaching across the town. They anointed many who were sick and they were made whole.

Another token is the handkerchief or dresses of men of God called mantles in some moments. Acts 19:12 reads “So that from His body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons and the diseases departed from them and the evil spirits went out of them”.

A man once came to me and told me his father was in a critical condition at the hospital. I took an handkerchief prayed over it and asked him to go and place it on his father in Jesus name. He did just that and by the next day the man was discharged.

These tokens have been used over the years to bring wholeness to a number of people. How do you receive your healing through these tokens?

A token is a representation of the Holy Spirit power. It becomes a point of contact for one’s faith to be released.

As you apply the handkerchief, water or the olive oil, you trust in the power of God to go into operation in the name of Jesus. The token is not the power but God’s power resides on it as the man of God prayed upon it, releasing God’s Power to rest on it.

Put your faith in the Lord Jesus acknowledging that it is His power that is working through that token.

Note: Don’t make a fetish out of the token. It is a representation of the real thing.

“In the name of my Lord Jesus, God’s power is always released as I apply this token in this condition, in Jesus name”.

Mark 5:27-28 ” When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole”.

Exodus 15:25 ” And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

KEY SCRIPTURE: Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”.

The fourth way for healing to be considered is healing through the communion.

The communion is a fellowship with the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ through partaking of the ordinance of the bread and wine. 1st Corinthians 10:16 says “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?”

The word communion means fellowship association, joint participation intercourse. By partaking of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ we come into that fellowship of oneness with His body and blood.

The scriptures reveal that the body and blood of our Lord Jesus is so powerful that when one takes it as an ordinary thing or meal without distinguishing it from other meals he does so with a damnation on himself or herself. 1st Corinthians 11:29. “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. To discern the Lord’s body is to distinguish (set it apart) his body from other meals. You must understand this is a Holy thing. In 1st Corinthians 11:30 the scripture reads “for this cause many are weak and sickly among you and many sleep”. This happened to those who did not distinguished the Lord’s body. This  implies then ,that those who take his body and blood with the understanding that the communion is indeed a fellowship with  the  blood and body of our Lord Jesus ,would be strong, healthy and ,alive.

Partaking of the communion with a clear understanding of its significance has brought healing to people in all kinds of cases. Some on the death bed have been brought to normal health as they partook of the communion. A lot of incurable conditions have been healed through partaking of the communion.

What must you do when taking the communion?

1. Examine your heart 1st Corinthians 11:28.
2. Acknowledge it is the body and blood of our Lord Jesus and therefore since Jesus is the same everyday it has the same power as Jesus was here personally. (Hebrews 13:8)
3. Declare what you want to receive after partaking of it. (Mark 5: 28 & 29)
4. Thank God for healing you after you have partaken of the communion.

John 6:54 “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

1 Corinthians 11:28 “But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup”.

KEY SCRIPTURE: Mark 11:24 ” Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”.

We are considering some various forms of receiving healing from the Lord.

We have already considered healing by

1, The anointing, and

2, The prayer of faith

Please note, I have been using the word receiving healing from the Lord on purpose.  According to the scriptures our Lord Jesus by His stripes has paid for every one’s healing. Our healing is fully settled just as our sins are fully settled. Everyone is potentially healed before the Lord just as everyone is potentially saved. It is our responsibility to take, receive our healing from the Lord. God delights in His children expressing their faith and confidence in Him.

3. Being healed by personal faith: Mark 11:24 This verse reads “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire when ye pray believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”: This scripture applies to every other need that we may present to the Lord. It fully applies to healing of our bodies as well.

When you ask the Lord for healing (note healing has already been settled on your behalf) rather when you claim your healing, you believe that you have it and you will have it. Start thanking the Lord after you have made that claim. If you were lying in bed; please rise up from that bed after making this prayer   and start doing all that you could not do. Declare you are healed. Maintain your confession of healing from this moment and never say I am sick.

You received your healing by faith, the very moment you prayed and believed it.  Please know that believing is having. John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him”. You do not get everlasting life moments after you believe. Believing is taking a hold of the thing. The moment you accepted the word concerning your healing and thanked the Lord for it, you were healed. It does not matter how you felt from that moment. Your healing is based on the promise of scripture and your faith in the word. God is forever faithful and would always watch over His word to perform it. (Jeremiah 1:12)

Every child of God can receive his or her healing through personal faith in God and His word.

 PRAYER

Thank you Lord Jesus for paying for my healing through your stripes. I receive my healing and walk out of the clutches of disease and bondages right now in Jesus name. Amen.
