CHARACTER STUDY: MOSES 14

KEY SCRIPTURE: Exodus 7:1 “And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.”

Chapter 7 begins with the statement “And the Lord said unto Moses…”. This was the secret of the success of Moses. He never did anything without the counsel of the Lord. God’s work must be done according to His instructions. We are nothing without our heavenly Father. Our life is for Him. Our life is to unfold His glory and wisdom. Just consider what God our Father seeks to achieve through us. Eph 3:10 “To the intend that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God”.

What the above scripture simply means is God’s intention for saving and raising us is to demonstrate to the satanic host His many sided, or much varied wisdom through you and me. This was what Moses went to Egypt to do. He demonstrated the many-sided wisdom of God to Pharaoh and his countrymen. He had to totally depend on God. He had to receive God’s instructions moment by moment. He was a tool God was using. Our role now in this life is not different. Those devils have held most human’s captive. They keep tormenting and destroying the lives of men. We have also been commissioned to bring God’s salvation and deliverance to them by breaking the hold of these demons and devils over humanity. The only grounds for a successful ministry is to maintain a very close fellowship with the Lord as well as reaching out on His instructions to set men free from these devils. We are used as instrument’s, tools or weapons in God’s hands. We have to depend fully on Him, lest it will become a mission IMPOSSIBLE.

The Lord told Moses, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. Moses was to say everything God commands him. What had God commanded us to tell these demons who hold men bound and tormented? Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give”. The Lord is saying to us whenever you see someone sick go heals him or her, setting him or her free from the devils’ grips. Likewise, when you find a leper, cleanse him or her from the leprosy. It implies making that individual free from the demon holding him down. Like Moses we have been made gods unto these evil spirits holding men captive. Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power(authority) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.

Moses fulfilled his mission; it is our turn to bring salvation to those who are oppressed.

You have the Authority and Power like Moses. Go and do likewise.

 CONFESSION

I am endued with power and the authority to bring God’s deliverance to men held in sin and satanic bondage. I see God ”s faithfulness and power demonstrated as I reach out to set men free.

Mark 16:17-18 ” And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
