SELFLESSNESS BREEDS FEARLESSNESS 2

KEY SCRIPTURE: Philippians 1:21 KJV” For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain”.

There is an Akan proverb that says ” a dead sheep fears no knife” The selfless man sees himself as dead. In our key scripture apostle Paul said for him to live is Christ, and to die is gain. He was selfless and therefore very fearless. Paul did so much for the master. Nothing could stop him from preaching the gospel among the nations. In Acts 14:18-20, apostle Paul was stoned and dragged on the floor at Lystra yet, the brethren stood around him and he rose up and continued preaching. He should have naturally thought about his life and safety yet he kept pressing on with the gospel.

A selfless man is a great threat to the kingdom of Satan. Satan knows men love their flesh and their lives and are prepared to make any sacrifice for it. Job 2:4 KJV ” And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.” The devil has no answer for the selfless man. He overcomes him (Satan), on every count. Rev 12:11, reveals that: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death” .The third arm for victory over the devil among the first two is that, they loved not their lives, even unto death. Many of us refer to the two arms of victory over Satan, which are, the blood of the lamb, and the word of their testimony. A very vital part for victory that Satan cannot context is a man who is prepared to lose his life for the course of the gospel.

Beloved brother or sister, a selfless man is indeed a bold and fearless man. He has an unshakable faith in God. He is owned by the Lord and sold out to him. Listen to Apostle Paul’s description of his relationship to God: Act 27:23 KJV” For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve”, He said he is owned by the Lord and he lives to serve him. He added in the next two verses the following statement: Act 27:25 KJV ” Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me”. He said he believes in his God that everything would be as it has been said to him. May we answer the call of our master to be selfless in following Him (Luke 14:26)

 PRAYER

Thank you, Father, that I died with the Lord and the life I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. By Him I am more than a conqueror, making great strides in this life, to His GLORY in the name of Jesus my Lord. Amen.

Luke 14:26 AMP. If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his [own] father and mother [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God] and [likewise] his wife and children and brothers and sisters–[yes] and even his own life also–he cannot be My disciple.
