KEY SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:16 KJV” When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:”

Our Lord Jesus after healing the Roman Centurion’s servant visited Simon Peter’s house, where his mother-in-law lay with a fever. The Lord touched her and instantly she was made whole. After that encounter the people brought to him multitudes who were tormented with divers’ kinds of ailments. He healed them and cast out the devils with His words. The Lord Jesus lived on this earth as an example for us. He taught His disciples to teach and do as he’s done. Matt 28:19 KJV” Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” Indeed after his death and resurrection, the disciples went to various places, taught the word and healed many that were sick and delivered many that were possessed by demons. In actual fact most of his disciples were involved in this work.

Let’s consider one of the commissions He gave them when He was with them.

Matthew 10:8 KJV “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” I wish to ask, is the Lord asking us to do likewise in this era too.? Is this call to preach and heal only for some special people? I believe it is unto every born-again Christian. A study of the history of the church from the time after the apostles shows that there was the healing of the sick by the church, although it was not in the dimension as done by the apostles and disciples of Jesus.

 My question again is, does our Father God expect a few people to go about healing the sick, or he wants a larger number of Christians ministering healing to a sick world? The problem is that over the years these truths about the Lord’s commission to the church has been watered down. The church turned to rely more on medical healing than divine healing. Note: the gospel is not in anyway against medical healing. The Lord himself said the sick needs a physician (Matthew 9:12). The ministry of divine healing has always been far superior to medical healing if effectively done.  How can a larger number of Christians become more successful in ministering to the sick.? To be very effective in ministering to the sick we must do it as God’s representatives, doing it for him and to his glory. It is never man’s business to divinely heal a sick person. Consider the following points to minister to the sick.

1. Always see yourself as God’s representative and you are speaking by Him, and for Him.

2.Always love the person who is sick, but hate the demon causing the condition

3. Command the devil causing the disease to leave

4. Expect a healing by instructing the individual to do what he or she could not do.

Most people could be more successful if   they would not focus on themselves, their shortcomings and how severe the sick condition is. If you approach things this way, it becomes you against the disease, whiles it should be Christ in you against the spirit of infirmity

CONFESSION

IT is the will of the master that He healed the sick, I commit myself to ministering to the sick as His mouthpiece and by His authority. I have nothing to glory about for every glory goes to him.

Luke 10:1 & 17 KJV” After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name”.
